Isomere Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Just one of many possible theories Doc, and if they did merge I'm not sure for how long. It'd be a shock if Brandon doesn't spin our ideas a bit during the next 9 books, and I'm sure cultivation will pop up sooner or later.
Arondell Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 First off, I don't agree with everything in skaa's post that I linked, but I do agree that Shardblades come from Odium. Anyone who has a Shardblade is bound to it, and it seems like anyone who speaks of the Thrill is bound to a Shardblade. It has been said that the Thrill basically makes men into more efficient killing machines. Shardblades are also very destructive weapons, along the lines of Odium. BUT... they don't force men to do the horrible things they do,mankind has merely been given a tool and it is up to them to decide how to use it. Actually Sadeas during one of his conversations with Dalinar asks if he still feels the Thrill. "And the Thrill, Dalinar. Do you still feel the Thrill?" Men didn't often speak of the Thrill, the joy and lust for battle. It was a private thing. This passage implies that the Thrill is not limited to those who own shard blades. Certainly Sadeas doesn't own one at that time and his asking the question seems to indicate that he is familiar with it. I do suspect that the Thrill might be an Alethi specific characteristic.
