Well, my summer reread of the cosmere books has finally convinced me to go ahead and join up with the 17th Shard crew. Like most, I've been lurking for a while, and I hope I have something intelligent to contribute to this great community (if I can avoid getting spiked for long enough) <_<.

My name is Payden and I'm a Junior studying International Relations and Environmental Science at BYU. I am (of course) an avid reader--my first introduction to the fantasy genre came when a kindly librarian pointed me at David Eddings' Belgariad and I've never looked back. I play the saxophone and the piano when I have time, which is never, and I love traveling, learning languages, and meeting new people and cultures. Perhaps that's why I connect well with Brandon's worldbuilding--it's so organic and tied to reality. What else? Oh, additionally, I'm a giant fan of Pokémon.

Anyway, I originally found the site through the Coppermind wiki, with which I'm hoping to help out. No offense, but some of the stubs are...rather stubby. I've got to say, Brandon should be proud that he has such an awesome fanbase and I'm excited to be a part of it officially!

*tosses a spike* Congratulations, you've just volunteered been spiked for wiki duty ;) I hope you weren't planning to need that organ. Sorry about that.

Welcome to the site! Brandon and Pokemon? Sounds good to me. I like you! I'm glad you could make it here!

And yeah, there are a lot of stubs. But, on the plus side, we're almost down to only 50% of the articles on the wiki being stubs--which is still atrocious, but it's less atrocious. I'm trying to work on completing more small articles to get the stub count down to 50% before Words of Radiance. Depending on your interests, you may find some good articles to edit here. That list contains a lot of articles that I thought would be easier to complete than others.

Man, leave it to Chaos. Guy mentions he wants to wiki, and you give him a list of 42+ articles to work on? Don't scare him away already :P

Loved the title of this topic by the way, good to have you here.

Haha, well of course I am quite honored to be welcomed by the venerable Chaos himself, even if it was just a pretext to spike me (who needs a liver, really?) and put me to work. I'm quite exited, actually. Part of the reason that I found the Coppermind in the first place was that I was considering making a big Word file on my computer with my own notes on everything so I could keep it all straight. Needless to say, I was very happy to find most of it done already. I've got WoK, TES, and Legion on my Nook, so that should make finding references a little easier. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome, Chaos and Windrunner. I think we'll get along just fine.
