mycoltbug Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I just decided to start a blog and do some book reviews. I did the Way of Kings as my first and would love some critiques or ideas for improvement. Let me know if you see things I should do different. I hope at some point in the future to have some giveaways to hand out and such. But I'm still a poor student and haven't gotten any freebies. http://mylittlebookheaven.blogspot.com/
Shivertongue he/him Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 You know, I keep meaning to do the same thing? I just never seem to get around to to it..
Andrew the Great he/him Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I only quickly read it, but from what I saw, it all sounds pretty fanboyish. If you want people who aren't Brandon fanboys like the rest of us, you'll want to work on that a bit. Specifically, I'd include anything that bothered you or that you disliked about the book. That's what a lot of people are looking for in reviews anyway. In short, if you really liked it, talk more about why you liked it. If you didn't like some things, bring those up. If you didn't like it, talk about any redeeming qualities it had and be sure to explain why you think you didn't like it, etc.
mycoltbug Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 Thanks for the great advice Andrew. I made a few changes so that I didn't sound like a total fan boy post.
