Just now, Ancient Elantrian said:

Elan taps the leather-covered shoulder of his robe. "You can perch here, young phoenix." He says softly to the bird.

"You may not be, but the wisps did not come here of their own accord. These woods are called babbling for a reason."

Eos squawked and did so.

"Huh..." It glanced around at the tree. "M-maybe I should s-stop hiding in here, then..." It flew through the leaves out into the open; it was a simple, glowing ball that hovered in the air.

The Great Wizard gently strokes the back of Eos' head. "I had a bird very much like you, once."

She cooed.

"I am here for a rare plant for a spell I'm working on. It can only be found in the heart of the woods." The wizard gestures with his staff to the shadowed path ahead. "I close my ears because the trees words are dangerous. Recall that folly is often masked under the guise of wisdom."

The wizard watches the chaos with a small amount of judgement. He has more important things to do, and continues to walk down the path.

"Only one not from the woods would consider their words dangerous. They are no more dangerous than anything else in nature; the danger comes from carelessness."

"Carelessness is easy to come by when magic muddles the mind." The wizard notes. "Wisps and words have equal power to lead one astray."

"It's a c-curse, I think." The sphere flickered as it spoke. "Um... do you know the S-Sorceress? The one who l-lives in the Isles to the South?"

"Magic." Callum says the word with distaste. "I have no need of it. My own hands serve me well enough."

"Magic is imbued in the very fibers of this world. The fibers of your being, your sinews. And the words of these trees are filled with magic that could fog even the sharpest of minds."

The sphere bows, as much as one could. It just seems to roll downwards then up. "Thank you, um..." It didn't know the Wizard's name.

A rock on the ground rolls away to reveal a person a quarter the regular size.

”ATTACK!”

The person held a small twig in the air, rushing towards Eos. “Take that! And that!”

It didn’t do much.

"My mind may not be the sharpest, yet these woods pose little danger to me. And I have nothing against magic, merely those who seek to master it."

The little dwarf turned to them, uttering a high pitched war cry. “Die! Foul monsters! You can’t eat me!”
