How do you think Shades on Threnody lose their Identity as a cognitive shadow?

Sunlit Man spoilers

Well, since Threnodites have an extra bit of investiture, maybe we have something like the resistance going on with their souls like on Canticle that doesn't let most of the spiritweb through

Or

WoR  Spoilers

Spoiler

It could also be like an newly-bonded spren in the Physical Realm. I heard a theory, forgot where, that Silence initiated a Nahel bond with her grandmother's shade.

Well, it couldn't be a Nahel Bond, as those require oaths to function. But we know there are different types of bonds as well (like the Luhel Bond), and it could have been like that.

Nahel bonds only require Oaths for Knights Radiant. The definition of a Nahel bond is a trade between something alive in the Physical Realm and an entity in the Cognitive, granting Physical Realm access for the one in the Cognitive and access to Invested Arts to the one in the Physical.

What would Silence be trading? That’s the question… Also thanks for the theory! That Spiritweb bit sounds like a good idea.

Silence herself wouldn't be giving anything. She's just an anchor.
