CMac716 Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 So, we've all heard the story. We know that some female once lived in a dark place of no light, surrounded by walls to keep them locked in. I've seen some assume this refers to the humans of Ashyn escaping Shinovar and learning to use Stormlight. Now that WaT is done, we have some more history on other characters, like BAM. I very strongly believe that BAM is The Girl. A lot of my reasoning comes down to intuition, but there are hints. The white hair turning red makes me immediately think of a Spren that was corrupted. The home of dark with no Light feels strongly like Shadesmar. The escape from the prison to steal God's Light to being back to her people is perfectly in line with her taking up Odiums Perpendicularity. 5
ParaTulip fae/faer (declines as she/her) Posted March 28, 2025 Posted March 28, 2025 I think the themes of that story are meant to be a contrast to the Watchers on the Rim. Who do these watchers guard against? What do the people held behind them feel about the rim? Shallan and Mishram both are easily seen as "too dangerous to be free". So are a lot of people and things. Trying to find the "one meaning" is going to mean missing other ones. 2
