Mark was still off a little bit away from the heartwarming family reunion, fidgeting with his Shardblade, manifesting it as different mini figures and practicing animating them.

He felt that he should say something, talk to Marewill about…well, the fact that the two of them had almost died several times.

But it was nothing new to them.

For once, neither he nor any of the voices within him had anything to say.

Until he had to sneeze.
He tried to stifle it, but it came out raucously.

Uhhhh….

”Excuse me,” he said, embarrassed. He grabbed a tissue.

Mare smiled. The edge dancer with the machine guns.. embarrassed by a sneeze.

I'm gonna say that he has those guns he stole from the Marksmen in the back of his house or something now, it seems unlikely that he would abandon them.

He would have asked if Marewill needed anything, but doing that with Tinker and her whole family standing there would probably be a bit out of place. In fact, it was a bit out of place that he was there in the first place.

But, considering the whole almost-dying-several-times thing, it was probably important.

His mind went back to the days when it had started, when the games were just beginning again. That was probably what had empassioned those who opposed their rebellion to come for them.

Maj...

He had died honorably.

He had died sticking to his values.

Mark was glad once again that their crazy escape from the Marksmen had worked. While it had been pretty messy, they were both alive, so were Adris and all of the Steeles, and everyone who lived around them. Nobody but Marewill and Mark had been hurt.

Well, nobody but Mare, Mark, and all the people Mark killed.

But they started it.

Mark made an excuse about needing a toilet and stepped out of the room. He paced down the hallway, memories thick in his head.

it's done, he thought.

But that was what he had thought when the rebellion ended. Or, further back, what he had thought when he had ended the conflict between the Rusted and the Steeled, by killing Sereine.

It won't ever be done. He thought instead.

There might always be another conflict, another war another fight another person trying to end the things I have started there will always be madness insanity and humans but I. Will. Remember the ones that came before.

He went back into the room a few minutes later, head finally clearing.

I'm ready for whatever is next.

While Mark was out of the room, after a few moments, Marewill quietly said to Tinker, “I want to marry you.”

He looked at her with a confused smile on his face. “Isn’t that.. kind of the whole point of being engaged?”

”Well, yeah, but like… right now.”

He blinked. “I… Mare, I want that too, but we have to wait at least a bit. For one thing, I doubt the city would let us get a marriage certificate with your injury being this bad, and for another, they just started working on our house.”

She sighed. “Yeah… yeah, you’re right.”

He smiled and kissed her head. “I appreciate the sentiment, though.”

”As soon as we can?”

”Promise.”

Yeah, that sounds good.

Mark gets very drunk at the wedding and wastes a bit of his stormlight burning it off but otherwise is plot irrelevant for x amount of time.

Tinker and Marewill spent the next week in their newly constructed house alone. At some point during that week, Crocus contacted Mark and asked him to come to her house.

Mark receives the unidentifable contact origin and goes over to Crocus' house. Because most of what he had been working on had been related to the Marksmen harassing his friends, the Steeles, who had now stopped, he had found himself with a ton of free time for the first few days.

Now, though, because of his Shardblade, he had found a simple job at a different construction site where they needed to cut away some stone to dig out the basement of a new building. With all of the new development in the city, still going this long after the revolution, it wasn't too difficult for someone like him to find temporary work.

He, once again, knocked on the door.

I swear Mark has knocked on this door like four hundred thousand times during this Rp which is realllllyyy funny to me for some reason idk xD

Nah, this is Mare’s mom’s house. I don’t think he’s been here yet

Doors in general though, absolutely lol

Crocus opened it and smiled. “Mark, thanks for coming. Can I get you anything? Water, food…”

Oh, right.

..,I think i've also been confused about which house is which a unreasonable amount of times...

"Uh...No, I'm alright." He stepped through the door. He took a moment to form words. "Why did you want me to come here?" Maybe a bit too direct.

She nodded and sat in a chair in the living room. “Falr (tinkers father) and I have been.. working on something in private for the last few weeks. We didn’t want to say anything in case we couldn’t do it.”

Mark sat down on another chair (Which i presume exists). "Care to...Elaborate?"

She nodded. “Obviously, unfortunately, you know the fates of Maj and Sharlin. They weren’t able to get to the Crescent before the end of the war, the reaping. We weren’t able to save them.”

She took a breath. “When Falr got that Gamemaker, Mr. Forrest, to agree to let the victor live here, he also got him to agree to send them back here. What’s left of them. Their families are here. We can bury them in free soil.”

Mark let out a breath. "They...Yes. We should...That would be good. Especially...Well, the Steeles and I have had enough of our brothers-in-arms fall without any ceremony, any honor. We should...We ought to give these tributes what was never given to (God dang it i forgot the name of the tribute that Mark and a few others reluctantly killed bc he attacked them and he wanted a rebellion im pretty sure it started with a Qu) and the others."

Crocus nodded. “Well, a train with their bodies is arriving today. Falr’s bringing a truck. Do you want to come with us to pick them up?”

Mark thought for a second. "Yes," He said quietly. "I can help you with this."

Mark followed quietly. He noticed that his Spren, who was generally quite shy and hid somewhere near him, was sliding-growing-vining-whateververbyousayforacultivationSpren towards Crocus, investigating her curiously.

She can't see the Spren, btw

She looked somewhere between concerned and confident as she rose and led Mark out to the truck. Falr was already in the drivers seat.

Mark got into the backseat quietly, a mask of solemnity across his face.

The two parents spoke in the front, leaving him in peace.

Yeah, I think the Greenspine was intended to show up somehow in this RP

How, I don't know.

Mark fidgeted with his shardblade, summoning and dismissing random objects. He eventually made a shard-duck and left it sitting on his lap.

After about two hours, they arrived at the train station on the border of the Crescent.

“Yes, we’re picking up and loading the coffins here,” Crocus answered. Falr turned off the engine.
