The Aspiring Archivist any pronouns Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Well, I think the title is pretty self-explanatory. I will be writing poems, and putting them here! I can't promise consistency, but I'll do my best to make a random one every once in a while. I'll probably do one for you if you request a topic! I know people usually do this for a post milestone, but I've missed so many of those that it's probably pretty well justified. Whether my normal, more depressing poems go here is TBD. I've been thinking of discontinuing them anyway. This is the first stanza in a thread full of verse. My poetry is both a blessing and curse. They're a blessing because you all seem to like them. But they're also a curse because it's hard to write them. 8

The Aspiring Archivist any pronouns Posted February 14, 2023 Author Posted February 14, 2023 Okay, bread it is. From toughest roll to softest sponge, Bread knows a special place. Its combinations infinite, Its use is commonplace. It is dense in nutrients, As it is formed from grain. If the world were without bread, It wouldn't be the same. So when you eat a sandwich, Or a bun, or garlic bread, Appreciate it for its greatness as I here have said. That wasn't that great. But there you go. 3

What do you mean "wasn't great?" That was excellent - the very peak of dough-y poetry! You could say... I loaf it 2

Hehe you may choose freely; I shall enjoy your struggle to find rhymes for orange - be it fruit or colour or both! (I borrowed this challenge from the man Eminem himself so it gotta be a nice one) Should we make a new thread for the poem battle/coproduction or are you willing to accommodate for it here?

Orange, sweet citrus fruit, Juicy flavor so acute. You want me to make a rhyme For which I have not the time. But color orange, flower, sunsets, Neon brightness sometimes upsets. Orange, like our sun's own fire, Colors heat and sweet desire. Orange, two meanings like so: ¿Naranja o anaranjado? One is fruit to taste and nourish, Other heat of death and courage. I don't know you decide. 3
curon he/him Posted February 25, 2023 Posted February 25, 2023 That's really good stuff! Kudos! I absolutely dig the language switch there, very crafty! I shall try a sip of my own medicine here and then proceed to create a poetry battle hall for us after that A fruity, fiery word is orange but versing it requires a crime. Our dear friend Hoid would grab the door hinge and flee in light of this slant rhyme. Welp. I like yours better! You sure won the zeroth round 1

I created one but tweaked its purpose on a whim: it's called Wheel of Rhyme and its just around the corner of your own Poetry thread
