I started reading the Cosmere pretty recently, so I may wait to be more active on here until I'm caught up. I'm currently following the Sanderlanche Podcast's reading order, and so far I've only read 4 full Cosmere books (the first Mistborn trilogy and Elantris) plus some short stories/novellas, having just started The Emperor's Soul. I've known about the 17th Shard forums basically since I started reading the books, and I'm really looking forward to having deeper discussions on here once I don't have to worry as much about spoilers.

My favorite would probably be Sazed. I'm guessing that's probably a fairly popular opinion, but the way his arc was handled especially later was really well done. Marsh is up there too

emporers soul is absolutely worth the read, it’s one of my favorite sanderson books and my favorite shorter book by sanderson. i think i’d recommend The Way of Kings as the next book to read, but if it’s not the next one you read you should either continue with the mistborn series (with wax and wayne) or read Warbreaker, which is a standalone novel set on the planet Nalthis. read Warbreaker before Oathbringer, though.

in terms of what we’ve got around here, we have shardcast, a podcast, which might be too many spoilers for you right now but is definitely fun to listen to. we also have a subforum for fanart and fanfic, and even if you don’t write/draw it can be super fun to check out peoples interpretations of characters. we have memes here, which again might be a little spoilers but they’re really funny and if you just stick to one’s about mistborn era 1 you should be fine. 

we have a subforum just for mistborn discussion, but that includes stuff about era 2 and again might be a little spoilery. we also have a subforum for elantris and emporers soul, and you should definitky finish emporers should but that should be all good for you. would definitky recommend you not go into the ‘cosmere discussion’ subforum until you read more of the books, but the ‘cosmere q&a’ should be fine, especially for you to post in.

annnd then there’s the community tab which is usually where i hang out lol.

we have general discussion, which includes ‘forum games and random stuff’. the longest thread, the last post wins, and inverse ask anyone anything are all really fun threads/games to be in. the entertainment discussion includes things like ‘what are you listening to right now’ and ‘POKEMON’ (in all caps lol).

there’s a stem discussion area for all you nerds (:p), which i’m almost never in because i very strongly dislike math (a jedi does not hate), but i guess if that’s something you enjoy it’s there.

there’s creators corner, which is a great place to share your non-sanderson related art/writing, and get feedback on it! very cool, even just to browse even if you don’t write/draw.

then there’s roleplaying, which is a super fun part of the shard. i’m active in sanderson elimination, which is a forum version of the game mafia/werewolf reskinned for sanderson’s works. there are usually some minor spoilers on there, but they usually aren’t plot related spoilers. there’s some roleplaying involved, but it’s not super heavy and it’s a very very fun place to be.

there’s the alleyverse, which i’m not currently a part of but if you do enjoy heavier rp it’s a very interesting free form role play where people tell a story together. definitely has some spoilers though, but definitely enjoyable without all the knowledge of the cosmere.

and there’s also a myriad of other role plays that you could join, definitly skim through and see if any interest you!

oh we also have a discord that i don’t currently have a link to but you should join it if you have discord there was a kahoot on there a bit ago.
