For my thousandth post, I will be sharing a fic I've been working on for some time. It's a DSMP fic that i started a while back but have kind of ignored.

I now present, the first two chapters of The Convenience Of Godhood.

Spoiler

Chapter 1

Begone

Ranboo opened his eyes. He was standing on the Ellipse, his hands bound behind him. Blasphemous, he thought, how ironic. Every other Enderian in the realm stood off to the side, watching him with eyes full of fear, intrigue, and worst of all, hatred.

A whoosh muffled their warbled tongues, and a great form obscured the gentle light of the Upper Void. It flew over the Crystals, and the pink glow radiated off it’s underbelly.

The Queen.

She landed gracefully, landing in front of him. Her eyes shone with the purple light so common in the eyes of the End. Except, this light was fiercer. Stormier. Angrier.

Ranboo smiled up at her, knowing his fate was sealed now. Then why smile? Why smile in the face of death?

Defiance, of course. She could not control him anymore. She didn’t do anything, she just… stood there. Watching. Waiting.

Ranboo looked around, at all the Enderians gathered. They murmured, they whispered, they sneered.

“...⊑⟒⏃⍀ ⍙⊑⏃⏁ ⊑⟒ ⎅⟟⎅…”

“...⍜⎍⏁⟒⍀ ⟟⌇⌰⏃⋏⎅⌇ ☊⎍⏁ ⍜⎎⎎…”

Ranboo was only able to pick out snippets of their conversation, but what he heard only made his pride flare. He had done it, he had successfully accomplished the task.

A deep booming voice, barely feminine, echoed through the realm.

“⍀⏃⋏⏚⍜⍜. ⌿⍀⟟⋏☊⟒ ⍜⎎ ⏁⊑⟒ ⍀⟒⏃⌰⋔. ⊬⍜⎍ ⊑⏃⎐⟒ ☊⍜⋔⋔⟟⏁⏁⟒⎅ ⏃ ☌⍀⟟⟒⎐⍜⎍⌇ ⌇⟟⋏, ⏃⋏⎅ ⊬⍜⎍⍀ ⌿⎍⋏⟟⌇⊑⋔⟒⋏⏁ ⍙⟟⌰⌰ ⏚⟒ ⌇⍙⟟⎎⏁ ⏃⋏⎅ ⌇⟒⎐⟒⍀⟒. ⌿⍀⟒⌿⏃⍀⟒ ⊬⍜⎍⍀⌇⟒⌰⎎.”

Ranboo watched The Queen as she spoke, dooming him to a punishment so severe, he was as good as dead.

She opened her mouth, and her throat flared with the magenta-purple End Fire. Ranboo closed his eyes, preparing for death, preparing for the flames to take him, to burn him, to burn his very soul, until nothing remained.

His eyelids flashed bright purple, and he flinched, waiting. Waiting… waiting?

He opened his eyes, and saw below him-

No. No. NO. NO!

He winced visibly, staring at the infinite portal below him. It glowed a gentle cyan, as if inviting him to fall in.

Ranboo backed away, but was interrupted by a sharp object pressing into his back. He turned around, noting the glaring enderman holding an obsidian Kei, it’s graceful spear-like appearance evoking memories of armies and fellow citizens prepared for battle.

He took a step forward, closer to the glowing, infinite expanse that was the portal, and looked around. Ranboo locked eyes with one of the Enderians glaring at him, and it spoke a single word.

“⏚⟒☌⍜⋏⟒.” Begone.

No. No. If Ranboo left, it would be on his terms, not some… some… some common Endermans. He strained against his bonds, and they broke. A collective gasp went through the crowd as he warped behind the Enderian with the Kei, knocking him down and taking it.

Now, Ranboo’s skill with a Kei was undeniably good, and no one dared challenge it. As he stood, holding it menacingly in one hand, he surveyed the crowd, who, just seconds before, had been mentally begging for his banishment, but now cowered in horror, shock, and fear.

“Is this how you treat your prince?” He said in Ender.

“Ever since I was born, everything belonged to… to… to HIM.” Ranboo surprised himself at the ferocity of that sentence, and closed his eyes, regaining his composure. When he opened them, he noticed he was gripping the Kei a little too tightly, so he loosened his grip and raised the point a little.

“But that’s fine,” He continued, “Now, I’ll make my own decision.”

He stepped up to the portal, staring down into it, wondering where it led. He’d heard the legends, but he wondered at their truth now.

He glared into it, and turned to face the crowd.

“I’ll go to that other world,” he shouted, “and make EVERYTHING. MINE.”

He smiled, feeling his eyes bleed to the same cyan as the portal as he accepted his fate. The crowd recoiled at it. To them, it must have looked so wrong. So, so wrong.

But to Ranboo, it was a release. A release from the Queen’s control.

“So.” He said, tilting backwards into the portal, “Farewell.”

And the portal took him, took him off to a distant land, a place where there was grass, a place where there was a blue sky, instead of a dark Void.

And Ranboo smiled at the adventure ahead of him.

Chapter 2

Don’t You Want To Be A God?

Tommy was falling.

He was falling. He was falling. He was-

Not falling.

He was standing on… ground?

But it’s black.

It’s not ground.

Not ground. Not ground. Not ground.

He looked around. All black. No blue. No green. Where was he? Where was the sky? Where was the grass?

A figure started approaching from in front of him. No. From the left. No. From the right.

And suddenly it was in front of him.

And suddenly it wasn’t.

And suddenly it was next to him.

Don’t you want devoted followers?” It asked, “Who leave their families for you? Give their money to you? Give their bodies to you? Give up their lives for you? Consider you GOD?

A flashback. No. A vision. Himself. Standing in the air, his arms to the side, and the people. All the people, standing. Watching him. Praising Him.

And will KILL for you?”

An explosion.

No. Thunder. Yes, that was what it was.

Don’t you want to become a cult leader?

Since the death of God, there’s been a vacancy open.

A body. On the floor. Blood. On the floor. God, he assumed. Dead, he assumed.

No. No. No. Dead. Dead. Dead.

You could fill that void. Here’s HOW.” The voice echoed, filling the large… void? Space? Land? Tommy didn’t know.

Tommy didn’t know how to be a God.

And suddenly.

He did.

ok but did you read it

I don't know anything about dream SMP, but it was well-written. Can't say anything about story though, cause i'm ignorant on Minecraft stuff.  I liked the grammar and the kind of vibe it put off though.
