The spren who form a nahel bond don't so much become more powerful, as regain their cognitive realm form, I have a feeling that the powerful spren like him (who appear to be themselves practitionors of a form of investiture refered to as "the old magic") are likely already in their true cognitive realm form

What about the Voidspren and Renarin
Squigy replied to Mileswasbestcharacter's topic in Stormlight Archive
This would make the Surgebinding of Truthwatchers akin to using tin, where mastery comes not with gathering information, but with filtering that information.- 68 replies

as Preservation Sazed should be able to alter how Feruchemy works, he may even be able to make metalminds store the "wrong" aspects, also, it would be awesome to see that happen, Vortaan. but what I most want to know, is how the God metals will be reintroduced to Scadreal.

Potential overlooked link between Mistborn and WoK
Squigy replied to Fejicus's topic in Cosmere Discussion
who knows, maybe Leras was more powerful back then and could manifest multiple "mist spirits" also, this is an Ironic thread to find, as I almost posted something yesturday saying that the Feruchemical symboles are what I imagined the Truthspern's heads to look like (though elongated and turned 45 degrees) -
on page 287 in the second "From Brandon" box it says that you DO in fact kill to create Hemalurgic spikes, also the splicing spiritual DNA thing sounds like what happens when you plant a spike anyway. Also, the power gained in Hemalurgy is specific to where it is placed in the recipient, so which power would be gained by burning/tapping?

Duralumin +Copper counter Duralumin+Bronze Duralumin + Electum show you farther into the future Duralumin + Malatium show you more of the persons choises, flood your mind for a split second and leave you scared and disoriented Duralumin + Nicrosil redundant Duralumin + Bendalloy/Cadmium make you age and depending on how much Bendalloy you had, drive yo slightly mad with solitude slash send you in to the near future without you noticing the time passing, a temporal jump forword

well Allomancy is not Preservation's art, Feruchemy is. Allomancy is both of Ruin and Preservation: the metal is destroyed, but power is gained (Ruin destroys, but Preservation keeps the laws of conservation in tact) the power that is released is PART OF the Allomancer, they can use it how they want, this includes (in the case of compounders) changing it into an aspect of human life by using an appropriate metalmind as a "chloroplast" where Preservation changes Allomantic energy into the appropriate trait and uses it. The reason for the 10x strength effect (in my unverified opinion) is that the power released from burning metals is a spiritual energy, to effect the physical world a large amount (likely 10x what would be needed in physical energy) must be applied to accomplish a small amount of work, in other words, the spirit energy field and the physical energy field are not very interactive, however when a metalmind is used to focus the energy it comes out at a 1:1 ratio of physical energy/trait. however when physical energy is stored in a metalmind and then burned the physical energy is released, but not harnessed, and only the spiritual energy is used to do the work, like when Vin burned Sazed's earring. I don't think it would make a difference who put the physical energy into the metalmind, because it would still be physical energy and Allomancy isn't designed to harness extra physical energy, it would just be released as extra heat in the Allomancer's stomach.

it should be pointed out that in the original question it is 2 Smokers of rating 6, and a Seeker of rating 10 thus 12 v 10 smokers win however, in the Mistborn Adventure Book both Vin and Kelsier are given as having copper ratings of 4, marsh is given bronze ratings of 11 or 12 at different parts of the books, while an regular inquisitor is given a bronze rating of 6 thus their storm of the palace was likely 8 v 6-10, and they would have lost to some inquisiters also, each metal pulses at one of 2 rates (the 2nd when being flared) and if you release 2 wave sorses with identical frequency they will combine to form a single wave with greater amplitude, thus a single "louder" effect should occur from complimentary Allomancy. as for more mundane tactics, I seem to remember a part in HoA where Marsh described his vision as being able to see through feeling things through a combination of Iron, Steel and Tin Allomancy, I would imagine that the inquisitors have some degree of x-ray-vision-like-powers by focusing on lines to the iron in a person's blood instead of the bits of metal elements in the wall that is separating them, similar to how Preservation and Ruin and later Harmony can see through stuff that isn't metal

That's what I was saying. The way I describe the Alomantic/Feruchemical/Hemalurgic metals is 4 sets {[(wheels/squares)pure, w/Lerasium, w/Atium, w/both God metals] hey, there's 64 metals} of 4 sets (quadrents) of 2 metals and their alloys, plus 2 pure God metals and the alloy of the 2 God metals together. 67 metals total. I was not aware of this and would much appreciate it if someone could direct me towards the source so that I may enlighten myself as to more "Word of God" information to support further theories I hypothesize. In regards to that statement, if a Lifeless were created in such a way as to take in around 3.5x103 breaths, would they be sentient, and if so, would that be a Returned, or a 6th type of BioChromatic entity. I say the count should be 4 or 10 with more to be discovered yet, but not 5, just my deduction. There is not enough evidence to draw conclusions as to the actual sources of the Dor, or weather the Dor comes from only one shard or both, but I have stated my prediction and stand by it. Once again, if Word of God has countered my statement, I wish to view the source, material, not that I don't trust y'all, I just want to have records for when I discuss this stuff IRL And my post was meant to support your hypothesis completely, I just thought of an alternate version of it and thought I would mention it. I like the sound of that. So now we have: 1) Returned 2) Lifless 3) Awakened objects 4) Greater Awakened Objects 5) Artificial Returned 6) Returned Objects 7) Humans 8) animals and plants 9) Returned Animals and plants 10) spontaneous manifestation of non-phisical constructs of breath I approve this list.

I would just like to point out that in WB the 4 types of Biochromatic Constructs... in Mistborn there are 4 categories of metals, each with 4 metals... and 2 God metals [the square root of 4(or each counts as 2 since they can be alloyed with any of the other metals or are just that powerfull)]. Perhaps the rule of 16 is not as solid as we assume. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we just get the rule of 16 form one man's theory in MB:HoA? After all this would follow similarly to how discovery goes IRL, we used to think that protons were a fundamental constiguite of matter, that is until 1968 when the quark was confirmed through deep inelastic scatter. So might it be a rule of 10-4 or 10-4x4/10-42? For all we know the 16 shards may eventually be arranged into 4 categories too. Now concerning AonDor, there ARE other ways of tapping into the Dor, Shu-Dereth has their "monks" (also character based through engravings on their bones) and that one foreign nobleman, if I remember correctly from Jindo(I lent my copy to my cousin or I would look up his name) tapped into the Dor through his "martial dance" and began to glow similarly to an elantrian. So for all we know there are 16 different ways of harnessing the Dor. As I was typing this I realized something... Say there are only 4 ways of harnessing the Dor: A (AonDor), B (Shu-Dereth's way), C (the Jindo way), and D (some way yet to be seen) combine them in every combination and you get 15 different ways: A, B, C, D, AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, CD, ABC, BCD, CDA, DAB, ABCD. THEN we assume there is an alternative to combining them into the last one, call it ABCD' (maybe using them as a single power as opposed to 4 separate powers at once in that case call ABCD' E instead). Now it satisfies the rule of 4x4/16 side of the 10-42 rule for Domination and Devotion opposing each other. This may even give some insight as to the nature of the other ways of using The Dor, both A and B use symbols and their practitioners undergo some transformation in order to use it becoming Dominated by The Dor(powered by by the same shard?) maybe C & D both require somatic components to access The Dor which is innate in their users needing only discipline through training in the motions, Devoting themselves to The Dor. We may even see a repeat of the internal/external powers theme from MB A & D are external while B & C are internal here is A crude diagram of my theory. I apologize, this came out WAY longer than I was expecting it to.
