    She closed the dumpster. "I was at school when the monsters came. Me and Brielle hid in the janitor's closet for a long time. When we came out, everybody was gone. So we both walked home together, and when we got back to our apartments, it was really late, like ten o'clock or something. Everything was in a big mess when we got back. And Dad wasn't there. I tried calling him on the emergency phone, but he's not answering. So I grabbed some stuff and moved it to the trash. Then I started looking for someone to help."

    She glared. glass i love your profile A light switch flipped on in one of the bedrooms, and the shadow of a middle-aged man crept across the floor. "Uh... yeah? You said it was horrifying, right? Gimme."

    Inside the dumpster was a various assortment of snacks--Doritos, chips, refried beans, and all kinds of cans. In addition, there were a few plastic water bottles and a singular fork. There was also a small stuffed sloth. Don't pay any mind to that.

    guys i actually really really wanna freaking graduate and i'm super behind in school so i'm gonna take a hiatus til like may 20th to catch up

    Catie gave him a weird look, but kept walking. She led him to a trash bin. One of the big green ones that you find in cities. "Open it."

    Chester nodded in agreement. That place... that... was horrible. He was pretty sure he was going to have nightmares about those pods for years to come.

    "How?" Lillian was starting to get cold feet. "That's disappointing. You jumped really high, is that not a sign of fear? Are you like Utility? Do you even feel fear?" She frowned some more. "Tell me how I can be more scary."

    She chuckled. “I had to.” She lit up, looking animated as she spoke. “Well… yeah! It’s fun to scare people! Or… robot people… But anyways! Weren’t you scared?”

    Rhyme shrugged. “I think you need a little evil in the world. It creates adventure. It creates novelty. Actually, we’re on a little adventure right now to help a… friend. Do you want to come along?”

    “They’re very painful,” she said, leveling the gun. “Okay,” she said, putting the gun away. “Follow me.” She started walking down the alley.

    She nodded. “That’s a little cheesy… but I agree.” Eleanor giggled. She looked fairly ordinary by herself—corn-colored hair tucked in a long braid. A long flowy nightgown. Oh, right, and a giant bloody wound on her middle. Eleanor noticed Utility but didn’t say anything.
