  2. Granted. Then the English language changes the word for school to adwalist and you now have adwalistwork. I wish for mad guitar skills
  3. Dublin (Ireland)
  4. I read that last word in your post as capital I Invested, or magical and thought, "What about Dox!?"
  5. I like all off these. Especially I am a stick A safe though perhaps boring choice might be Journey before Destination. Cliche, I know, but I feel like it somewhat fits with missionary work.
  6. WoR
  7. So when I finished the series a couple months ago Mat was my favorite by far, but right now I am rereading TEotW, and Mat doesn't really get into his character until at least TDR if not TSR. With that in mind, favorites: Mat Min Rand (not as much at the beginning, but definitely as the series went on) Perrin (more at the beginning, and less when he was chasing Shaido, but once again when he was Wolf-Dreaming around chasing Slayer) Lan "I didn't come here to win, I came here to kill you" Mandragaron Thom Loial Hates: Elayne (boring) Taim (Evil) Whitecloaks (except Galad) I have a lot more Favorites then I do hates. I also think I should include a category for characters that a lot of people hate, that I did not mind: Tuon Gawyn Egwene Nynaeve Edit: Okay. This is embarrassing. I forgot Androl and Pavara (please excuse an audiobook listener’s spelling). They are easily the best romance in the series and two awesome characters. Sanderson did an amazing job with them and I wish we could have had more. I’ll see myself to the Black Tower equivalent of the Mistress of Novices now for my crimes
  8. I like it. I would be surprised if it happened, but also satisfied. I really like this theory. I'm also terrified of the consequences if this happened.
  9. I too prefer fantasy and fiction but most of those seem to have already been recommended. If you want to go for a classic Frankenstein is excellent and still sort of SciFi fantasy. By way of non fiction I would recommend a biography. Since those follow someone’s life it tends to be more narrative and engaging. I really like Walter Isaacson and David McCullough’s stuff. The Boys in the Boat is an excellent book. I never thought I would enjoy something about rowing that much but I did. Can not recommend enough. I struggle getting through non fiction without losing interest but these have all kept me engaged.
  10. Okay this is good to know. I always thought that with f-steel your body sped up but your mind stayed the same and so it would effectively be useless without f-zinc but it would make sense if steel speeds up your mind just enough to deal with the speed, like the normal flash, then zinc turns you into the dude from limitless.
  11. Don't know if I could rate everyone because the series is so long that you have forgotten much by the time you finish, but I can give a few favorites and a few least favorites (and maybe resurrect this thread to get a few more opinions). Favorite book: The Gathering Storm. A few reason's for this one. Rand's character development in this book is one of the best I've ever read. The way the DO breaks him down until he is forced to turn to complete emotionlessness, leading him to almost kill his father and end existence forever. I think I almost cried when he realized that there was a point to the endless turnings of the wheel, and the pain that inevitably comes with life. Also I prefer Brandon's writing style to RJ's. A close second: The Shadow Rising. Mainly because of the Two Rivers plot with Perrin, and then the Rhuidian stuff was cool. Least Favorite: Path of Daggers. Nothing happened. Yeah, they fixed the weather, blew up some stuff, fought a not that exciting battle at the end, but other than that there was nothing. Also there is none of the one and only Matrim Cauthon. Indifferent: The Eye of the World. I am currently rereading this one, so perhaps my opinion will change, but WoT has a steep learning curve, so on my initial read I spent a lot of the book confused and disengaged because of that confusion. I am also not a fan of the travelogue trope. This book had a bit too much walking around for my taste.
  12. You guys are making me rethink my priorities. I’m 17 and probably post on the shard more than I text girls. That’s probably not a good thing... So I’m afraid I have no advice.
  13. So I am of the opinion that Trell is Autonomy, but I wouldn't be surprised if the attack on Harmony was a joint effort, headed by Autonomy, but aided by Odium. I have zero evidence to back that up, its just a hunch. But if Odium is involved, I wouldn't be surprised if Whimsy was too.
  14. Yeah, I like this explaination. If F-Chromium were external luck it wouldn't match with Atium, Hoid, or Renarin. Those are all more internal mini-future sights. I think tapping F-Chromium wouldn't cause the lottery numbers to be the ones you pick, but would cause you to pick what the lottery numbers will be. It all amounts to the same thing, the difference is whether the world is changed to match you, or you are changed to match the world. Both ultimately make you better off.
  15. That’s epic! The audio is from the Graphic audio I’m guessing?
  16. Old Dalinar, young Dalinar, or all Dalinars?
  17. I bloody well hope he gets over it in the next book though. Wayne and Steris are my number 1 and 2 favorite era 2 characters. I wish they would get along. Steris I think has made an effort to but Wayne hasn’t.
  18. When you see AOL (America Online) and think simultaneously, Alloy of Law and Age of Legends. When you wear a Mistborn shirt to work hoping to signal your secret identity to a fellow Sanderfan and bond over the books.
  19. So, you think it would be possible to play the RPG over the forums? I would totally be down if we could get one or two more we could start a thread in the RPG section. I could PM you @TheWanderer if you need story ideas.
  20. I’m sure someone’s said this before. It seems obvious to me but Killer in White. Like assassin in white, but with a K.
  21. I would read that fanfic. And that is a cool picture.
  22. I will gladly run the AoL MBTTRPG with you. I have the original book, but not any of the extensions. And I agree with you on Feruchemist over Mistborn. Especially in a society where we don’t need to assassinate/try not to be assassinated.
  23. So for those who say Ah-dolin, do you also say Ah-donalsium? I guess it makes sense if you are a non-American English speaker but that just sounds wrong in an American accent.
  24. Not even Moash? I think he’s fascinating but he’s still my least favorite because he inspires such rage within my soul.
  25. Welcome to the shard mate! I see we share a love of hats and Wayne.
