    "Thank you" Vale concentrates for a moment, then reaches out his hand to the side. Energy crackles around his hand, and then he reaches up to the globe of light. The light disappears, and the same black metal that's below appears, stretching into a small (About 7 foot) tower with a ladder set into the side. The energy around his hand disappears. "There we go. Hopefully we won't need to go too much higher than that to see something"

    Vale starts up the hill we're all hunkered under. "I can get us a vantage point from here, but I'll need some light"
