  1. "Yes, Vapor. I'll be returning to them if you want me to carry news." He gives a small smile and inclines his head. "I'll miss having you on the way back."
  2. The man named Patch walks to Lady Rish. "As my Lord commands, I would come with you, to take vengeance." He does his odd bow again.
  3. "Desist, before I expel you both from my realm." Prime's voice hardens, and he summons his weapon, a wizard's staff that shines from a crystal embedded in the head, made from the wood of a tree never seen by mortal eyes.
  4. "Vapor, you sure about this?" asks Vale. He's been watching the whole proceedings with Patch in the background. Prime nods to her, a small smile on his face. "Don't worry, Vale. She's making the same choice you did. It's her path now."
  5. "Probably the best idea. Let's head to the stadium." Jay heads off towards Halcyon stadium, which you can see lit up from almost anywhere on the island.
  6. "Doubt it. Most Talon soldiers are fanatics. They'd rather die than defect." Jay considers for a moment. "You're defecting, aren't you? I've never seen a Talon member anywhere without at least a few others waiting in the wings."
  7. "And why are you letting us know about it?"
  8. "That's why you're on the ground but not bleeding."
  9. "Why are we going back down where that guy is?" Miera whispers
  10. "Well," Jay says, as he pulls out his staff and rushes Lloyd, "I couldn't let him know that, could I?"
  11. "I'm going quickly!" Miera opens the window and slides through
  12. "No, that can't be-" in the middle of his sentence, Jay flips his hand out against the air, which should send a wave of force at Lloyd and pin him to the ground. @A Windrunner
  13. "My realm of expertise is not in mindscapes. I know of their immense power, but I would be unable to teach you beyond the very basics. I know the allure of power and knowledge, and also believe it to be good to grow in those." "While I would encourage you to find a teacher in your abilities, I don't believe Rish is the one you want to follow. I've only heard of her vaguely and through rumor before now, but it's obvious she has a purpose behind finding you. As for whoever released this scourge upon the multiverse, I think they can be adequately punished without your help, although of course, I know very little about any of that situation." "So far, I've told you what I don't know. What I am sure of, is that you are going to become powerful. There is a timeline where what Rish says comes true: you become a goddess. There are many more, however, where reaching for the heavens only leads to falling further than you could have thought possible. My past is no mystery: I rose to godhood as a mortal, and at the time, I was considered unique. It was a one in seemingly infinite convergence of chance, knowledge, good timing, and my own skill. I cannot promise that your transition would go the same. Perhaps, if I am to give you a specific encouragement, it is to continue as you are for now, and when you are ready to reach your potential, seize it with both hands."
  14. Jay whirls around in a 360. "Where?"
  15. "I still have a lot of questions that you're going to answer for me. But first, we need to find somewhere away from here. Let's see if we can maybe get a private box at the stadium, or head to an inn. Can you hold off the... craziness... for a little bit?
  16. "We all know of powers outside our own realms of expertise. Law of Infinity and such. Is that really the point?" Prime snaps his fingers and the throne room disappears. In the darkness, he snaps again, and a tiny light, unimaginably bright appears in his hand. "This is the Big Bang of this Universe. I trapped it within a single moment here, so it can never progress. All the power of an entire universe lies between my fingers. If I allowed it to proceed on it's natural course, only I know how it would end up. Similarly, Vapor's mind and skills have immense power. The actual amount or nature of that power doesn't matter. What does matter is that allowing her to progress naturally is the only way we'll find out how her universe will end up. I can show her one possible timeline that she might experience or one thousand, and it may turn out that none of them are correct. It may turn out all of us are wrong."
  17. @Vapor @Channelknight Fadran "Ok, we're good. We're going to come in now!"
  18. The Duster falters and says "Ok, thanks guys. We'll check back here when we're done, ok?" "Sure thing!" calls Jay, to their retreating backs. More quietly, to the others, he says "Great, let's go get those two out of the woods"
  19. Miera is shaking, even though it doesn't seem that cold out. "MaytheCreatorshelterusthatwasterrifyingIthoughtweweregoingtodieIcan'tbelievewe'restillalive" she says all in one breath.
  20. The Duster looks suspicious for a minute, but one of the policemen behind him says "Oh yeah, we were in the middle of something important! We better go finish our gam- I mean patrol!" Jay smiles. "We got it covered. I'll make sure to call back up if anything comes up." He holds up his Scry (looks kind of like an smartphone).
  21. Prime nods. "That is a future I see. But I see many more where she dies because of you, or because of other gods. If you tread in the realm of gods you are expected to fight like one, and it took me a long time of mistakes to learn it. But all this conversation happens without her. Vapor, I know you hardly know me and have little reason to trust me, but I say it's up to you." @Vapor
