  1. Dear Jeana, Sorry I can't make my letter talk and catch fire, if that's normal for wizards. I can't even find a normal pen in this house, imagine! Thanks so much for the wand. I'll make sure to treat it like the friend it's going to be to me. Is there a manual or something for wand care? Anyway, it's already proven just how good a companion it will be, as long as I don't accidentally set the house on fire. I'm going to make sure I learn how to put it out before I do it on purpose. Hope to see you soon! Love, Alex
  2. Alvyer grabs the book he was reading before all this happens and runs after the crazy humans. Hopefully they're looking for a way out
  3. A cat slinks by, largely unnoticed in this city full of strays
  4. Miera looked up as she heard a strange scuttling noise from outside her door. "What the..."
  5. "I don't think this owl likes me." Neither the owl nor the wand respond to that, so Alex starts looking around for some paper, before remembering he has a wand now. Maybe he should try some spells. Alex picked up his wand. "All right friend, we're going to try a little spell I haven't tried in a while, ready? Chersha paper!" ... "Huh, well usually that at least makes something light up so I can see where it-" A burst of sparks burst out of the end of the wand towards a drawer in the kitchen and make little scorch marks all over the wood. "Whoah! Ok, easy there." Alex opens the slightly smoking drawer to find some loose parchment, quills, and ink. "I guess... that works." He figures out how the heck to use a quill and starts writing a letter to Jeana. "I think," he muses, "that spell works differently with a wand because of the power or something. My incantation had to be powerful enough for me to use magic without the wand, but with a wand I don't need the same level of power. But-" he stops, and touches the end of the quill to his chin. "What makes one incantation more powerful than another? Is it just the willpower behind it, maybe? The focus?" he looks at the wand on the countertop. "We're going to need to do some experiments." He attaches the finished letter to the owl's leg and steps back. "So uh, that's going to Jeana. You know where she is, I assume?"
  6. Alex watched the letter burn up and excitedly started opening up the box with his wand. He pulled out the silver wand and immediately felt a tingle run through his fingers, like Fate was telling him this was where his destiny changed. "Hello, friend," Alex said to the wand. Jeana talked about them like they were alive, and holding one now, Alex could believe it. "You ready to change the world?" There wasn't any response, but he wasn't too put off by that. Even be magical standards that may have been a bit much. He looked at the owl. "Will you take her a return letter?"
  7. Alex, excited, opens the envelope first
  8. "Uh, ok. Thanks." Alex opens the package
  9. "Um... hi. Sorry, I don't live here. I don't know who does, if that's what you want." Alex looks at the owl. "Do you talk or something?"
  10. Jay is sitting up in a crater, dusting himself off
  11. Jay sees everyone's left and launches himself off the deck towards the distant land, leaving a crater in the deck of the ship
  12. "Not quite what I was expecting... I was expecting another one of those monsters."
  13. Chrysler waited until Ashley arrived at the end of the trail, then stepped off the path, abruptly returning to normal speed. She kneels down and touches the edge of the path, then says a word meaning "Come" The dust's glow stops and most of it, about 80%, lifts up off the ground and flows towards her hand, where she catches it in the bag it came from.
  14. Jay throws his staff at her, augmenting its force a hundred times, then grabs a fallen soldier and does the same thing.
  15. The ice wall hits the front line of soldiers and then Jay hits them with the force of a Hurricane.
  16. "Run!" Jay goes into Overload and a wave of force throws the ice wall at the soldiers, scattering the first wave of bullets. Quick as a blink, he pulls a syringe out of his pocket full of a slightly glowing liquid and injects himself with it. His veil becomes visible and his eyes start glowing slightly as he leaps forward behind the wave of ice.
  17. "Not exactly. My Aspect doesn't work like that. Listen..." "Eldea guides every man on their journey. The most important part isn't the destination, but you can't be afraid of arriving. If this is where my path stops, so be it. If I... I... I'll still be there for you. I'm here all the way, whether on Siren or as a star in Her heavens to guide you. If you remember me, you'll never be without help." he grins "Of course, that's only if they manage to actually kill me. Otherwise forget I said all that."
  18. "It'll be ok. Get out of here and go find the Guardians in Sabir. They'll help you"
  19. Jay steps forward, leaning on his staff. "We're going, Quin. Don't make this harder than it has to be." he's partially in front of the girls, one hand steadying himself the other in his pocket
  20. "What, moving at 7 times the normal time stream isn't fast for you? Come on, we still have a chance to catch up!" Chrysler starts running down the pathway
  21. "Makes sense. Lead the way... you do know the way, right?"
  22. The rune faintly glows violet and the dust shapes itself into a sharp rune as if magnetized. Ashley should feel more energetic, not necessarily like she's had a whole night's rest, but at least like a nap and a meal. "Good job! That's better than my first try, I set my trainer on fire. Feel better, Ashley?"
  23. Jay hobbles out after them. "What's going on, fill me in."
