    "All right, me and bomb guy will go first." said Chrysler, pushing to the front. "I'm the least likely to die if something goes badly and he's got the explosives."

Where have I seen you before? Oh yes, on the warrant sheet I received from General Hawkweed. You're both to be sent to Talongarde. You" he pokes Lloyd in the chest "to be tried, and you" he bends down to look Janice in the face "to be used"

    Jay uses one hand to lower her swords, trying to convey "not yet" to her. "I am Lieutenant Ebony Cytra of the Talon Dominion, and you've set off the security alarms in one of our most secretive bases. There is no help coming for you, and there is no excuse for you being here. I have enough guns trained on you to overcome any Veil. I would suggest you come quietly so you have a chance of living"

    A shout rings out "Stand down and surrender!" as soldiers spill into the hallway and aim guns into it. The creatures stop and slink back to the walls, leaving our characters in the middle of the hallway.

    "That's how he needs to crush you, too. I've been on both sides of the war enough times to know it isn't just enough to win, you need to win big. But I think we can handle that. Perhaps the best thing would be two groups, one to infiltrate and the other to take and hold his attention"

    I'm so happy all these people are joining Siren's Call, but everyone please know I have essentially no control over the plot line at this point. :P:D
