To answer this, I think we need to answer what kind of powers they have

"Good luck. I'll meet you guys at that building in... 3 hours or when something explodes, whichever is sooner." Jay points at a building with a tall tower that can be seen from anywhere on the island.

Chrysler laughs. "I guess it is kind of hard to pick something when I just told you to pick literally anything. How about we get a retrieval glyph? If you put it on your book or something, it will fly back towards you when you make the glyph again."

I'm afraid you were wrong. I do have an ambassador. You lose a card.

Welcome, my friends, to the fancy ball our friend Whysper has set up for all the high class of the city. My ambassador friend will kick us off by looking at the top two cards of the deck.

"I like you, kid. What do you want to learn? There's a glyph for just about anything, although I'll tell you if something is probably too complicated. For instance, I once made a glyph to create ice cream sundaes, but it takes about ten minutes and a whole lot of charge to draw, so that's not too helpful except as a party trick."

"Hmm... a realm of it's own, eh?" a smile crosses Vale's face. "You're giving me ideas, Nath. Don't worry, the vengeance thing won't happen."

"Which would be? I'm assuming I wouldn't like what it eats..."

"Let me rephrase. It has some amount of sentience then? What would a being like this bargain with?"

"Well..." she says, obviously flustered. "Get some earplugs!"

"That's a possibility I hadn't thought of. Can these things be reasoned with, then?"

"Go for it. I'll make sure to give you more if you run out. If the dust gets contaminated or used too much it starts to lose a charge, and while it's hard to make more, it isn't too hard to recharge it. I think I'll teach you one more, and then you should probably go practice and make sure you have them down." "I'm sure I could handle that if we need to. But regardless, we still need to deal with the monsters, and get Daolan and Herate out. You said they had some kind of hold on Daolan?"

She backs away "I'm not messing with your head. It's just a little... persuasion. I was hoping we could all be a little less high strung while we're trying to figure these things out."

"The siege idea could work, if they held the outside and then we sent some people in to bring them out... but that doesn't solve the army problem or the creatures, I suppose." He taps his fingers against his temple. "I still think that getting some otherworldly help might be a good idea, even though you don't think so."

Vale sighs. "You keep focusing on the army. The army isn't the important part when some members of this group could hold their own against a better trained and better armed one. When you have this level of magical prowess that we're dealing with, an army is more important as a distraction, as a means to hold someone down, or channel support. "On either side, the problem is that we don't know what abilities they have on their side. If it was just a question of an army and a castle in our way, this would be pretty easy, I think. What we need is to somehow take out Wyrn and his mages."

Null comes out of the pantry where he apparently has been for the last month. "What did I miss? Oh and just so you all know, the flour bin is currently connected to the Dwarven Portal in Ulgrotha, so tell me if you see any vampires around, ok?"

The rune floats in front of her for a moment before losing its color and falling to the ground. "Yeah, you did it! All you really need to make that work is practice. For now, I want you to carry some dust with you all the time, ok? Even just a momentary shield like that can save your life."

"Well, it was better than my first try. It usually doesn't work if you're hesitant about it. Try it again."

"Great. Now, hold your dust, and I want to picture the rune in your mind, every line in sharp detail, then say "Defend".

"If that helps."

"Perfect." she says, as the rune flashes blue again. "Think you got it?"

The dust falls to the ground after a few moments. Chrysler says "Come" and it flies up into her hand. She pours it into Andante's hand. "Try again. You forgot this line. You have to memorize them to Call effectively."

The rune doesn't flash quite as bright, but it still has the same effect. "Good job." Chrysler throws a punch at Andante, but is stopped by an invisible shield along the same plane as the floating symbol. Andante feels a small force against her, both mentally and physically, as if a much smaller person is trying to hit her with a pillow. "Looks like it works." Chrysler dismisses her rune by waving a hand through it, which disturbs the dust and sends it scattering down to the ground. "Can you do it from memory?"

18. Also, if you go to someone's profile and click on the little clock arrow thing, it will show their normal username. Very helpful for figuring out what the heck we normally go by.
