"A few other adventurers like yourself, sir." You're in a tavern, that's about all you care to notice. "Aye, the mayor will likely be in town hall." Says a man in the corner. Anders says "Or maybe our Rangers will be back soon" "With this many travelers in town you may have to fight them for a room, but you are the first to ask so far. I'm sure I can find you one. The standard charge is 2 silver a night." "You adventurers should talk to each other. I feel I've answered that question plenty today. We get the occasional orc or kobold band around these parts but nothing we can't handle." You can't tell anything on his honesty

Seeing the uniform, the butler says "and who are you?" "We need a boat"

The Iconar Collective - Roleplay

"Ha! Not only do you steal souls, you steal jokes, as well!" -
The human girl that came in just a bit before you slips a hand into your pocket. You notice once your purse feels quite a bit lighter. "Since you insist, my lord. We do see a fair amount of dangers out here. The odd kobold band or orc tribe. A few of us have lost cows or sheep to them in the past few years. But that's not much more than other frontier towns out here have to handle, and I do think that we've been doing fairly well for ourselves, eh?" The bar similarly is filled with remarks of agreement.

@Somebody from Sel Landers, roll perception against her Sleigh of Hand roll The bartender seems earnest, but you can tell something's a little off. "Perhaps, sir. Maybe you can..." he looks around, feigning embarassment. "Perhaps tell Anders to order normal ale rather than making me order Dwarven vintage from the mountains." The bar erupts in laughter, and a man in the corner swings his mug companionably. "Good one, Edmond! But maybe the lord could just order you some drinks that taste better than soap!"

"I'm afraid we cannot allow that." The butler casually brushes his suit jacket to the side, revealing the sword sheathed at his side. Jay's Scry lights up and he checks it. "Dusts... a lord's manor was just attacked by... a mysterious explosion..." he looks up. "That's Trace's work. We need to leave."

The bartender laughs. "A little town like ours surely has no problems a lord like yourself would be concerned with." If you would like, roll insight.
-
A butler at the entrance stops you. "The Lord and Lady are busy right now, if you would like to petition for audience, there is a small waiting list I can put you on" Impressive, child. You are progressing admirably.

The bartender is obviously flabbergasted at this many new people. "Of course my... lord? What sort of information do you need?"

Ok, I'm going to take income Cards: 2 Coins: 7

"One silver", he says. "Today's special is a mutton sandwich with a side of fried potatoes."

You are actually attracting attention, but no one is approaching you. Even the bartender doesn't look directly at you.

It reads: "I may have some information about a job, if you're interested, but just telling you would put me in danger. Come to the back of the inn away from the customers in a few minutes." The bartender, after passing you your change, busies himself wiping down part of the spotless counter and dusting pristine glasses. The other customers in the tavern, while few, since it's still early afternoon, are regarding you two with some degree of interest ranging from idle curiosity to full on staring.

You are able to hear most of what they said, but it doesn't seem to matter all that much. The bartender stands back up and laughs, although it sounds slightly forced. "Of course, of course. Adventurers do often only keep valuables." He slides a stack of 9 silver coins and a few copper, under which is a note. Thanks to your attentive glance, Kodwala is able to notice the note.
-
The bartender raises his eyebrows in disbelief. "That's a fair bit more than any mug of ale I've ever seen." He leans over the counter, so no one else can hear. "What else is it you're looking to get?"
-
"You're planning to stay for a while, then?"
-
"The Hunsthalls, eh? That's a fair bit away, and the wilds have been getting dangerous lately. You must be hardier than you look." "As for adventures, I'm sure you could ask our Rangers. We have a pair of them here that helps out on the rare occasion we get an orc raid or some kind of monster. No one's quite sure where they live, but they come through town every week or so. They're a little bit overdue, in fact."
