I'm disappointed, child. You should have come rather than trying to kill the girl. It's clear that you let your emotions get in the way of the most essential work. My pawn will bring you to me and I will have to spend much more effort completing you than I would have otherwise. As for you, Janice, your passion does you credit. It's unfortunate that you refuse to become one with Trace. You would be a potent Lord for me. It could have been done more kindly, but now the pieces are set. Siren, come to the Hive with full speed. We have lost enough time already.

Ah, Majesty. The girl was running off to where Vespyr couldn't protect her. Marvelous. It lurched, shooting into the air, gliding parallel to the ground, then slowed alongside Janice. Vespyr placed a hand on Trace's shoulder, figuring that this was definitely not what the girl had in mind. At this point, she was probably broken and fragmented. The Queen hadn't quite finished this half-baked utensil. "Let's go," It said, firmly, without any room for a wavering protest from -what it assumed to be- Trace. Jay ran after the swath of destruction. "Janice! It doesn't have to be this way! We have a way to help you!" He could only see flashes through the trees, but he knew that something had changed.

"... what? I... well that's interesting, for sure." He dismisses the illusion. "I take back what I said earlier, this will be interesting. Come on, let's go." he waves for the others to follow him and starts walking away.

"It's all right, you won't remember any of this anyway." Alein slowly walks closer. "You're not a very interesting person, are you? There's a mysterious mentor figure, your friend and sidekick, tragic past, I see... ooh, that's fun." An illusion of a young boy appears, between Alein and the Hero. "Who's this, then?"

"Tsk tsk, young hero. You really are out of your depth, aren't you? Let's see who it is that you love, then." Alein begins sorting through his memories like a child given a box of toys.

Jay, who apparently got shaken off of Janice's wrist, presses the earpiece. "Jack, I hope you're close..." @xinoehp512

"That was faster than I expected. So uh... do one of you want to kill him or should I?"

Jay absorbed the blast using his Aspect, the trio getting shoved slightly, but nowhere near as hard as it should have been. He'll just have to hope that Cadenza's Veil holds up a little longer...

So much for being distracted. Jay dodged the dagger and lunged for Trace's wrist, trying to drag it away from Cadenza's throat.

Yeah, yeah, I heard. I'm not a fan of that idea, but I'll do it. Assassinate Reading Coins-0 Cards 2 Why am I the contract killer? Maybe I should start taking payments.

Jay, after having left the boat and creeping through the rocks and trees behind the battlefield, darted behind the last layer of bushes behind Janice and Cadenza. This wasn't a good situation, but the best way to stop Trace would be to catch her by surprise, and with one leap, Jay was sure he could knock her to the ground and keep her there, especially since she was distracted by that... creature.

The military shouldn't be too much of a danger as long as we stay within the realms of reason. While this is frightening, sure, no one has gotten hurt. Once we raise a zombie army, though, you'll need a bit more clout to keep us from being overrun." The storm passes. "With my abilities and natural talent, we should be able to play the balance well until we decide to tip the scales. If you're with me...?" he holds out a hand to shake.

"I don't know. I feel like Cadenza is in the most danger from her. For some reason Trace has a vendetta against you. Freezing her might be a good idea, but if that doesn't work we'll need to do this the hard way. Jack, do you have anything that can help? We're about to land." @xinoehp512
