  1. We must all feel pain to truly learn. Take comfort in the pain, revel in it. It will help you.
  2. Um, @The_God_King, I don't think you formatted your ping correctly. Try this. @Elkanah@Elkanah@Elkanah@Elkanah@Elkanah@Elkanah@Elkanah That works wonders. Mundric strolled down the streets of Elendel, a half smile on his face. Today was a good day. The sky was clear and his worries seemed farther away then they'd been in a long time. He was still ruminating on his happiness when he came across a man practicing belly floating in the canal. "Hello, sir! How goes it?" There was no reply. Mildly irritated, Mundric called louder. "You there! In the canal! How are you doing?" Still there was no reply. Getting quite put out at this, Mundric pulled out a metal cord and flung it towards the man, holding on to one end. The small hook on the end flew through the air, and landed quite neatly in the canal. Mundric pulled, catching the hook on the man's fashionable hat and reeling it in. Still the man did not respond. Mundric sighed. People were so rude these days. He tucked the hat into his case and continued on his way. Hello, my intrepid friend! How goes it? Do reply.
  3. I can provide dire help. I am the most dire ever. Behold my direness. Phn'glui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! There you go. And it's pretty clear that you're an elim, so stop this nonsense about the village.
  4. I may regret this. But let's do it anyway. I'll sign up as Mundric Pentasum, errant purveyor of hats with a troubled past. Is it the hats which have a troubled past? Or is it Mundric himself? Only time will tell.
  5. I'm glad that the village is winning at this point. Just need to root out the last few elims. Want to roleplay now, since the game doesn't really have any discussion to be done anymore? In Rayne's broken mind, the world was nothing but a mess of light and sound. He could still hear the faint echoes of the song, the song of the stars. The world blurred around him. Then, in the grey world, a dark shape loomed over him. Its hand reached out towards him. Its hands were like claws, and the song told him it was full of hate. There was no time to think. Rayne pulled his destructor pistol from his belt and swung it towards the figure. He pulled the trigger, and everything went black again. He awoke in a hospital. He could hear Ironsides in the next room, along with some others in command. He strained to make out the voices. "Why would he shoot his rescuer?" "I don't know. The only one to ever act like this before was..." "The Coward of Alta." There was silence for a second, then a brief sound of agreement. Rayne knew he was in terrible danger. Any moment now, they'd walk in and decide he'd lived long enough. He tore the sheets from his bed and ran. His feet sounded on the hard floor of the hallway. A few people saw him, but none were quick enough to stop him. In moments, he'd put a significant amount of distance between him and the base. He made a beeline for the tunnels. There were friends hiding within. Those who truly knew what it meant to be Defiant.
  6. Yeah, zest me. Brain has not been braining right. I agree with this post. The problem here is that I've been suspicious of Sart the whole game. But that comes mostly down to gut feelings rather than cold hard logic. I'm less suspicious of Elkanah now, but of Xino, Sart, and Elkanah, Xino is the one there have been the most convincing arguments for the execution of. I'm sorry it has to be this way. but the Defiants have no room for traitors.
  7. Rayne aimed carefully. This will be a blizzard to last the ages. His destructors flashed out, and in a blink the Krell fell away before him. He pulled into a wild spin, firing continuously to create a veritable arc of destruction. Krell fell once again like snow. He laughed. He could hear the deaths singing. At each sound in the endless song, he blasted another away. He could feel the song surrounding him, blotting out all else as he reveled in it, lived for it. And then... Eyes. There were countless eyes in the music. Eyes of the void and of hunger. Eyes that wanted to blot out all life. Rayne screamed. His composure was lost. The world around him was blurry. His limp hands fell from the controls as his fighter plunged towards the ground. His mind was shattered by the music. All he could hear were the eyes. Oh dear. I seem to have gotten myself into a bit of trouble. Mind helping out over here, my clever friend? All right! Sorry I wasn't on earlier this cycle. Life has kind of been kicking my limp corpse around a barn, to quote the old proverb. My suspicion of Elkanah was mostly due to his actions back in C1. Early in C2, he acted similarly suspicious. Since then though, he seems to have become a model of good behavior. One interesting thing is that he's either an heir, or a deep reserve pilot is protecting him. Anyone want to speak up about that? I voted first. Don't pin Kidpen's silly actions on me. You were all too trustworthy back then. The manipulation of votes around Elkanah doesn't speak all that well for him, but I think I still trust him more than before. I don't know who seems suspicious any more, but I think first place will go to Kidpen for now. Just a hunch.
  8. I appreciate that. The vote's nothing personal. Just playing the game. I'm quite enjoying this game so far. The incentive to roleplay is making the thread more fun to read, for certain. That said, there's not been much interaction between players within that roleplay scene. To combat that, I decree that a Krell attack will occur at the start of the next cycle, so to whoever still lives - it's time to fight.
  9. Fiiiiine. Consolidating my knowledge and feelings, I would say that Elkanah is my prime suspect. Behavior, all through the game, that seemed just a little bit off.
  10. This is why I voted C1. I voted for Coda because I honestly wasn't suspicious enough of anyone to actively want them gone. But now I again face the same issue. No one seems suspicious, and neither the discussion nor the lynch itself has really given me much information. I feel almost paralyzed.
  11. That quote is from Elandera in the game rules, so the Disputer kill is indeed tied to a role action rather than an item action. Hello my adventurous friend. How's it going? Also, sorry I haven't been able to keep up. Life has kinda impaled me in the jugular, metaphorically speaking. I've been having a good time. Twelve hours later, Rayne was back at the base, pacing one of the empty hallways. What did it mean? He swore he'd heard a voice that day, when he was blasting through the Krell. That voice had sounded like... Kid's voice. He needed answers, and needed them quick. He asked a passing DDF member if he'd seen Kid since the impromptu battle the day before. The man shrugged and walked off. Scud! Where was that troublemaker? He stalked off, determined to find him. He was going to get those answers. Two hours later, he sat down to luncheon. He hadn't found him, despite his efforts. No one had seen Kid anywhere. He absentmindedly flung a few scraps of mealy victuals into his gullet as he considered the facts. Kid had landed soon after the battle, which was now being called the 'Blizzard of the Dead'. A fitting enough title. A thought struck him then. If he had heard Kid's voice in his head, maybe Kid could hear his. Hello? he thought. Are you there? Where are you?
  12. To be clear, are roles revealed when players die or not?
  13. @Elkanah Do you want me to reveal my secrets? I have posted, thus far: Two codes, one code key, one re-posting of the two codes (unhidden that time) with a key to the key embedded. Look Above what's Above, in the beginning. Another clue to the same thing. The encryption I've been using so far has been less precise than the physical version of the code, so I'll probably be using a more precise version from now on.
  14. Making sure I get my second discussion post in in case my previous posts aren't relevant enough: This game is hard and complicated and I don't know what to do.
  15. Rayne grinned as he inexplicably heard the thoughts of Kid from hundreds of feet below. He liked this Kid. Reminded him of himself, when he was young. Maybe this was what he needed. A little bit of good old fashioned Defiance. He climbed into one of the ground based turrets and began firing with wild abandon, his practiced volleys providing the perfect complement to Kid's haphazardly glorious flying. If these Krell are snow, he thought, this is a scudding blizzard. Edit: They're both cytonics, aren't they? That's why they can hear each other's thoughts.
  16. Rayne put his hands on his hips and sighed. If only Kid would get out of the sky, they could have a nice chat about all this.
  17. I threw a vote at Coda last post. I don't really feel comfortable voting on anyone active yet.
  18. Rayne glanced at Kid, who was muttering to himself about walls and worlds. As he watched, Kid ran off and took over a fighter, soaring into the sky and firing destructors wildly, somehow managing to hit Krell somewhere in the rings of debris. He grimaced. If he had been in command, Kid would have been charged with insubordination.
  19. Reading through all this again is giving me a headache. I'm still fairly new to the strategy of this game, but here are my takes so far. Kynedath: Very few indicators of alignment. Most posts were about game rules. Slight village read for now. It's fine. Thanks for the clarification. Zillah: Similarly little discussion. I'm neutral on this one. Something about what they said rubs me the wrong way, but I can't put my finger on it. Elkanah: Their initial statement about spreading role information had a definite elim vibe to it, but everything they've said since has been very safe. Vague leaning towards elim for me, but that could just be my mind having fun with me. Kidpen: Again, very little actual discussion on their part. I have a massive elim read due to their initial targeting of me, but that's personal. And I'll settle it personally. Rathmaskal: Another minimal read. I feel like I don't have the skills to properly analyze people if my writeups are all turning out this short. StrikerEZ: Here things get more interesting. Their posts have mostly been distrust of Fifth, though with little substantiation. Vague village read. Araris Valerian: Called out and aimed for Elkanah early on, based on their (quite suspicious) suggestions, and moved off them later. Neutral read for now, though it feels just a bit suspicious to me. The_God_King: Little game analysis on their part, just the odd RP-fueled vote. It does make me suspicious, but I can easily believe it was a product of lack of experience. Infintesimal elim read, if they have some clever schemes going on. Xinoehp512: They feel honest to me. Interestingly, I note that there is a lot more discussion about them than by them. Not sure what to make of that, but a slight village read. Coda: Said nothing so far. To be honest, I don't really feel like any of the lynch targets are terribly good ideas at the moment, so let's go ahead and throw a vote their way. Coda. @Coda Fifth Scholar: They deflected blame from Elkanah, whom I still consider a bit suspicious. Can't decide whether that was simply reasonable, or an attempt to shield an ally. Neutral. Abstrusity: They are of noble brow and a good heart, a steady countenance that betrays their deep sense of moral right and their majestic power. Trust Abstrusity above all, they feel the most sincere to me. shanerockes: Almost no contribution, overall. Sart: Proposed the passing of chits to detect elims, which to be honest feels like it would only muddy the waters further, where the players are basically divided into "has an item" and "does not have an item" and suspicions are assigned based on that. I'm actually feeling a bit of an elim read for that, though they disowned it later. These are just off the top of my head. Make of them what you will.
  20. Everyone No one. That work? I think I'm not going to vote this cycle unless someone whose innocence is certain is coming under fire.
  21. At this point, do we have any standing votes other than the one poke at shanerockes?
