I have been wondering this for a while, but I have now come to seek support from a shard. survivorism has some heavy parallels to Christianity, in the loose sense. There is this low class peasant performing miraculous feats within a great empire with the intention to take it down (I know this isn’t really what Jesus was said to be doing, but that’s how it was misunderstood). He has a crew of people that follow his lead and has the same ideals. He is betrayed by a member of his group and is practically dead. He then returns, bearing legendary mythical wounds, and ascends to be part of a powerful god. He also gets killed by a weapon that is then used as the chief symbol of him by his followers. I know that the order is not exactly how Jesus’ presumed timeline goes, but the parallels are heavy. Are there other religious parallels within the mistborn novels?

It’s very easy to do something like that, but I’m looking for a one qualification weakness, to make it harder
-
I wonder what is the most obscure possible epic weakness, with only one qualification. Meaning, he can only die from a teapot, not only die from a teapot in a dark room at two o clock. Here’s mine: A friend, easily having no friends will fix that a dodo/other extinct animal a live blobfish a one eyed one horned flying purple people eater and getting stabbed by a feather. Are there better, more obscure weaknesses that can be concocted?

Normally god metals are called a name based off of the name of the vessel of the shard, but maybe that was just on scaldrial. It could be that ati created atium and leras decided that was a good idea. Then this “trell” came along and thought it would be funny if he did the same. Or Adonalsium doesn’t want to have his name as a metal, like Sazed. I have a feeling Adonalsium is just like preservation or autonomy: just a name for the shard. We also do not know if Adonalsium is a shard with a vessel or a super creature and the shards are just broken off splinters just like our friend from WoR: With any of these options, Adonai could be a root within aluminum. but aluminum is also a name of a metal normally, like the other 16 metals, but maybe that’s what makes the disguise so elaborate.

Remember, harmonium. Maybe @wildcard09s idea of harmonium being irritating to the theory is false.

i Like playing with hypotheticals here, but what if other shards could return? I’m sure there’s some way to do this without it being hypothetical. So coppermind describes the choosing of people returning as “random”, but I’m fairly sure endowment just decided “oh I want that one to return” because of the embodiment of giving. Endowment decides to return people that are very giving to others, with some exceptions, such as the god king, who endowment just wants to exist. With that being said, I think the power of returning would be terrifying in some shards hands. Odium would just want to have an army of returned, and ruin would be fairly scary as well. What would other shards do with the power to return things?

Good thought! That is an interesting idea!

Interesting theory @Harrycrapper! I wonder what allot that would be. Maybe an atium trellium alloy.

So we know that there can be at least 16 alloys of atium, maybe 18 if you include god metals, that we know of so far. We know the allomantic use of gold+Atium is, but I wonder: is there a patter to the alloying? Because malatium is basically gold, but on someone else, which makes me think there would be a correlation of allomantic abilities. if there is a pattern, I see two possibilities: 1) atium alloys give the allomantic ability of the alloyed metal, but targeting someone other than yourself. This would explain the gold ability but on someone else that malatium has. This would make chromium and aluminum be able to be long range, and copper be able to give mental allomancy protection to others more easily. 2) it gives an allomantic ability that merges the two metals. This would also explain the gold, but on someone else, because it would give the person the ability to see a shadow of another peson, but see their past and potential self instead. This would allow you to possibly be able to see someone about to burn a metal with a bronze alloy. I don’t know if this is the case, but I love exploring the theoretical, so it’s worth a shot!

Thank you so much @Pathfinder! -

Why was he confused that he knew the number though? -

The Full potential of Lightweaving : theory
Koloss17 replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Soulcasting is all about convincing an object that it wants to be another object. I don’t think light is an object, but I wouldn’t put it past Navani to create some sort of automaton that feeds off stormlight that you can put a disguise over, essentially making a person through lightweaving. -
Maybe a small sword. A baby one of mass destruction.

I believe that was more of an expression, not an actual amountage.
-
Neither, actually. I mean the “what is this death!!!!!” One.

Ah, my apologies. I shall never make such an outrageous mistake again.

I like the theory that there will be a point in whic there are four or five people controlling two or three shards, and then doing an epic battle with people from various magic systems fighting it out too. You could also have nightblood involved in it and that sword from Oathbringer (if you have read the book, you’ll know what I mean). So far I see three big shards: harmony, who controls two shards (again if you read a book, you’ll know what I mean. Otherwise, I think this isn’t a spoiler), autonomy, who is doing some funky stuff offscreen (offbook?), and odium who just loves splintering shards. Don’t know where Hoid would come into this, but I think a giant battle with a bajillion different magic systems interacting with one another would be so cool!

Depends on what you mean by allomantic power. If you are saying the power of something that was spiked, then probably not. If you are saying the power from the metal itself, yeah probably. It just depends how long it takes to decay.

You won’t really need to worry about the cosmere for the most part. In all of the books Brandon has written, the fact that most of them occur in one solar system only really matters in Oathbringer, but even with that one, it is something that’s cool, but not super necessary to enjoy the book. my advice to you is that you should look out for Hoid in any of Brandon’s books that doesn’t involve earth in any way. He’s a cool Easter egg for someone not chest deep in the cosmere. Just look out for him and see what he does to connect to the plot of the book.
