It’s your brain going “I don’t wanna. Do the fiddle fingers. Not the other thing” and it’s hard to resist when you really need to practice.

Hello! Which books have you read and what geographical area do you like the most in the Brando Sando books you have read?
-
I know, I just failed to convey that efficiently. I just are the suck for doing elaborate jokes.

Thanks for the poll recommendations. This is the first time a made a poll in a post, so I like the help. also, if enough people think recorder should be one of em, I’ll add it , but I feel that since pretty much everyone has played the recorder, it might screw up the poll. I find it interesting that a whole lot of fingerings for the recorder are the same on the oboe.

Oh and sixteen percent of skaa were made Allomancers! I really need to reread that part.

So how many people here are left handed, but right hand dominant? Cuz I write and hold utensils usually with my left hand, but am stronger with my right hand and do most sports activities with my right hand. I was under the impression this was actually fairly common among the leftie cult, but I might be wrong?

YES. YEAS YOU SHOULD. IT IS WONDERFUL AND I THINK YOU WILL LOVE IT (as long as you appreciate a whole lot of shenanigans with just a hint of seriousness).

So I thought I’d make a general guild for ALL the musicians that play stuff, cuz there’s a lot of instruments. I wonder how many instrumentalists there are on the shard. I play oboe, voice, and piano. I love music and I hope I am one of many in the shard. I also hope I included all the big ones in the poll. If I missed some, please let me know.

I’m a baritone/bass singer, but I remember The good ol days of alto 1, tenor 1, and tenor 2. I honestly was the most happy with tenor 2, frankly. I honestly just like singing whatever. Since I listen to Panic! At the Disco and Fall Out Boy, I enjoy singing along to those. I also have an attraction to songs in a minor scale. Those are quite fun to sing as well. I am also in chorus, which is fun. No idea how chorus will work with Covid, though.

I love the cosplay! I advise not double or triple posting, though. anyway, which cosmere character do you think would be most likely to cosplay another character for the fun of it, and which character would they cosplay as? also, I think the person on the cover of warbreaker is Siri, I think.

True. The probability is too weird. So I guess the mists gave allomancy, heightening the connection to preservation, but specifically atium. It was probably 16 because that’s the world’s number and fuzz decided that it should be that instead of more, cuz he’s crazy.

I just wanted to make this because there doesn’t seem to be enough defending elysium content in here, an I think it gives cool insights on the main series. when I read it, I thought it was really cool. It was a lot like era 2 mistborn, in a way. I also liked the whole mindblade things. I can’t wait for spensa to use it (if she is able to)! I also pieced together that the darkness was just the nowhere but without the eyes because the delvers weren’t there yet. There’s also an interesting evolution in cytonics from defending elysium to skyward.

Hello fellow cosmere lover! Which character do you think would most likely get into a situation that would make them spontaneously combust?
-
Hi! Welcome to the shard! Which stormlight character do you think could win a fight against wit. It can be any sort of fight. A wit off, a holding breath off, and so on.
-
So the mists were actually just snapping people, they were already atium misting to start off. It just turned out 16 percent of skaa were seers. That is why nobility and Terrismen weren’t effected.
-
Is the surge of friction actually a sense? It’s a bit more of an external effect, like the color aura around anyone with enough breaths.

Oh so there’s a possibility that you can get 13 notes. You could have a 14th if a note or put all the notes into 13 tet instead of 12 tet, which is really weird, but there are songs made in it that people have created. 12tone on YouTube has a great explaination.

Music theory is so cooool! I really like knowing things. It is also very helpful for composing, which I like experimenting with. Stuff like the four chord loop and the secret of the 13th note is so fun! I want do get some theory lessons, but I have a lot I need to do right now, so I’m sad.

The difference is honor (heh). Dalinar killed children and defeated lords without mercy to unite the realm. He later forgets everything and when he remembers, he hates himself for it and tries to make amends. Sadeas kills and betrays for his own gain; he tries to convince himself that it is for gavilar, but it’s really not. After he commited the atrocities, he only regretted that they didn’t work. Adolin killed sadeas in rage, but regretted his deeds immediately. He later opened up to his father about it and accepted any punishment. i think sadeas is the worst morally and should have been removed from his place as highprince. Dalinar should probably serve war crimes and have his reputation destroyed, which it kinda was. Adolin should be charged for murder. Dalinar and Adolin would probably plead guilty, so they would get lessened charges, and they did regret their actions.

I really appreciated the conflict of connotation within the story. You have the golden borders around text as good, but the actual words are bloodthirsty. You have red as bad and you have the actual words be fairly good-not pure, but good. The black text bubbles at the end was cool as well. I like the whole “The dark one doesn’t kill, it steals” which I would say is Sandersony. I’d say this is fair. To do this, you need a looong book. Brandon dedicates four fifths of his book To setting up questions that need to be answered and one fifth to answer them. It’s more slow paced, and is much harder to do in a fast paced small graphic novel. I’d say that this story does not adhere to the Brandon Sanderson style. It’s an interesting new taste, and I happen to like it. I understand why it could be disliked, though. I give this a 3/5 for worldbuilding. It’s okay, but not as engaging as any of the cosmere books. the characterization is nice, but also not his best work. I’d give that a 3/5 as well. the plot had some nice surprises and I was definitely pulled further and further into the book, but no earth-shattering reveals. 4/5 for me. I liked the art and style of the imagery within the novel. Brandon is experimenting, an I like that. I’ll give a 4/5 for artwork. Overall, I’ll give this comic a 7/10. It’s a nice read, but not really something I’d recommend. I enjoyed reading it and am exited for the next installation!

So if you would have two characters that you have read duel each other, which two would be the most entertaining?

So can he store the newfound compounded age into another atiummind, and then consume that? That way, the only limitation is the amount of metals he has and the max capacity of a metalmind, if that exists.

White Sand Volume 1 Reactions (Unpublished Version Spoilers)
Koloss17 replied to WeiryWriter's topic in White Sand
I just finished the prose and I LOVED it! I can understand why some of the stuff was cut from canon, though. I really liked how the prose gave a lot more light to Eric, Ais, and Delious’s characters. The best part was definitely delious revealing that he never liked wine. That blew me away! I don’t think that was in the comics. I thought the comics were the weakest system in Brandon’s books, but that’s because worldbuilding was ignored in the comics. The prose gave much more insight to the dayside as well as the Darkside. I didn’t know anything about the dayside until the book and it really spiced things up and made the world bigger. I’m so sad that the conversation where Khriss and Kenton are eating together and noting the differences in culture. That was great. I don’t know what I think about the romance between them, though. -
There is dispute whether or not Artemis had sexual relations with her followers, so maybe this could be a buzzkill.

My theory is going off of this. You have an unkeyed nicrosilmind, but then you wouldn’t be able to make more unsealed metalminds of that type. What I think an excisor does is allow for the feruchemist in question to store in a nicrosilmind the ability to tap and store metals without losing the ability themselves. That’s actually a good theory! Possibly the excisor device has a way to preserve a spike that gives you the ability to use A-nicrosil and lets you compound to keep your ability. to expand on that, if you have a device that further preserves all of the spikes that makes you a full feruchemist. That would allow anyone to use it. I don’t know if the southern scaldrians are still making unsealed metalminds, so that might be the answer if they are still making them. how they are preserving the spikes and keeping them from decaying, I don’t know. There is a theory that aluminum-coated metals don’t decay, which is a possibility.
