So here’s a good point that a pal just brought up: what I think you’re saying is that when you’re storing, mass is being magically created. And when you’re tapping, mass is being magically removed. But that’s not how Feruchemy works, does it? Those should be swapped. Take F-pewter, as that’s what we’re basing this current hypothesis on. You are magically transforming muscle mass into investiture to be stored in the metalmind, and then having that stored investiture be released into mass afterwards.

So are you saying that storing is promoting cell growth? Or that the investiture is just generating new cells? If there isn’t temporal shenanigans, there would have to be some sort of magically stimulated cell growth. And how would it predict the growth? If we’re saying it isn’t extrapolating on the bodies current state (i.e. you can’t gain extra muscle mass), how is it working?

Don’t forget about DNA methylation, but your point still stands. However, that still makes no sense to me. Tapping it does affect your body more than just processes, and it physically ages you backwards, to the point where you can become a baby. Not a Five foot eight baby—a regular sized, full on baby. The whole point of Feruchemy is the idea of basically nudging a slider in a negative direction, to then be able to nudge that slider in a positive direction. If we want to have a biology metaphor, it’s shoving the body’s state of equilibrium downwards to skyrocket it upwards (I know technically speaking in any negative feedback loop, generally anything outside the norm is bad, but just roll with me on this one). So if you’re saying that storing messes with metabolic processes, and tapping messes with time shenanigans, that just isn’t how Feruchemy works. Your theoretical explanation of storing tracks, it just doesn’t make sense when you go and tap it.

Well, I took this quiz two years ago and got Augur. Interestingly enough, I think it suits me. Today, I got Seeker, which is a tad more boring, but is something that past me thought suited me. So there we are! Interestingly enough, my two Alleyverse characters are an A-Bronze F-Tin Twinborn and an A-gold savant, so there ya go!

I find this answer logical, yet unsatisfying. How is age determined? And how is extrapolation determined? If you’ve been gaining muscle for the past few months, will storing Atium keep that process going? At what point does “aging” symptoms occur? I know a decent chunk of it is genetics, but quite a bit is lifestyle related. That’s the questions I have about this. There’s got to be something more at play, right?

That’s the question. Is it purely physical? And how physical is it? Alder thinks buff baby is the way to go, while I think it’s a weird mixture of Identity, Fortune, and Connection. We don’t really have much evidence to back either alternative, so it’s all theories for now.

Well, I’ve taken a week’s break, but I’m back (at least for now)! I can’t guarantee that there will be another combo tomorrow, but I can guarantee one today! Random Twinborn Combo Day 38: A-Steel and F-Duralumin Wasn’t there something about connection manipulation to adjust where on the body you are pushing from? Or was that something else? Anyway, if that’s the case, then that could be fairly interesting. Is it groundbreaking with steel? Not really. Best you could do is make it so that something in front of you goes in an unexpected direction because the center of push is on your hand, not your chest. Something like that that’s a neat party trick, but not much else. I suppose you could consistently beat someone in a push-off though. Also, have we gotten confirmation on whether duralumin could strengthen your connection with your own metals? Your connection with Harmony? Not sure if we have, but if that’s the case, it could also mean that this Twinborn could best other coinshots. Basically what I’m getting at is that this particular Twinborn could probably decimate other coinshots, one way or another. I can’t say too much about Connection, given that I don’t really know exactly how many things you can Connect with. However, if someone, like Alder, for instance, has any insight into the potential here, that would be great. Resonance: Honestly no idea. Name: given that I do not yet fully understand the capabilities, it might be a good idea to hold on to the name for now. Rating: 7.5/10 as of how I understand it, but consider the rating in flux right now.

Let me just put this here….. All I really put down for Gold was pewter, but F-Tin might also help. Now, it would require you to either be a full feruchemist or use Hemalurgy, so it isn’t the easiest way to cheat F-gold. I do think you’re onto something with the breaths stuff. Another way to achieve F-Gold savantism….

Yeah I looked at it, and it is much more thorough than other wikis out there, and it certainly gives folks a briefing on what is going on, but it’s missing the key details that folks are unsure of, and the stuff that isn’t agreed upon in the community. Still a good source tho!

Currently, I am continuing down my trek to over-analyze The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. I have at this point close to a 100 page document of notes, and am only half way through Harrow the Ninth. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it. It is super fun, and has the lore and thoroughness of the Cosmere, and with so many more secrets. It badly needs something akin to the Coppermind, but it don’t. Which is kind of what I aspire to do, and I will eventually release it, once I find a way to make the naming system of Google Docs anonymous.

Only you get to choose when to come out. If you’re not comfortable coming out, you ain’t comfortable coming out. That being said, Pride Month is a pretty good time to come out. But only you can choose when you’re ready.
