  1. Not sure about the other characters, but I can't imagine a better Kitty Pryde power set than a fused with Cohesion. I definitely agree Stoneward powers are going to be pretty cool. I think it'll be similar to the spell Animate Objects from DnD or the Roshar version of Awakening at higher oath levels. As a Willshaper myself, I'm very excited to see a book dedicated to Stoneward powers
  2. I think the issue would be that living things resists Investiture. Maybe could work if you spiked a Focused One fused with a spike from a Deepest one? I think the closest to Mr. Fantastic abilities would be either a rose or green aether bound using the roseite/vines as an extension of their body
  3. I would absolutely chose Feruchemy over Allomancy and would spend one day a week as a vegetable Storing everything
  4. I absolutely think it's a tip off that a skilled enough lurcher/coinshot can alter the source of their pull/push. They say it's from center of mass, but can't be because it's the same spot for me and women and we have naturally different center of masses. I think it's all about preconceived perception on the spiritual realm level, so a sufficiently Cosmere aware individual should be able to pull it off with enough practice. Of course, who knows how much practice is ultimately needed. Ole Iron Eyes had 300 years. Most people wont get that kinda time.
  5. I do think you're onto something though. Marsh mentions in HoA Chapter 34 that for people who know how to read the lines, they can determine a lot of other information, like color. At the end of The Lost Metal, Kelsier calls this the "sight of the gods". We know that Investiture is just another form of energy and matter in the cosmere. There's also a WoB of Brandon saying steelsight is more of a spiritual realm thing than anything else. I think a sufficiently trained individual with A-Iron or A-Steel could essentially see all sorts of other Investiture. Or at least, there's a connection to be made.
  6. ^ this. I came here to say pretty much all of this. It's my favorite allomantic ability, but it is MUCH more useful in more modern times than Era 1. Also, in The Lost Metal, Kelsier refers to steelsight as "the sight of the gods" which I think lends to that sight having a lot of ability we haven't seen yet.
  7. Big waterbender fan and I've thought about this more than is reasonable. I think there's a nonzero chance a Willshaper or Stoneward can do it through Cohesion. Water, like soil, has a Cohesion factor property (something not everything has) which I think puts it in the running to be manipulated by that surge (i know it'sdescribeda bit different, soft axial connection, in world, but still). I think the Willshaper could do it with ice only, but a stoneward could add tension to water water then use their surge combo to move it. I also think there's a nonzero chance that a A-steel/F-Duralumin twinborn could do it. Burning steel "connects" you to metals to push/pull on. I speculate that someone who can manipulate connection with F-Duralumin could manipulate things enough to burn steel and use duralumin to connect to water instead (potentially also connect to stone, cloth, whatever, other materials besides metal) and then push those. A spike for A-Iron would complete the set. Also, an Elantrian could pull it off. Maybe make an item that gives the user ability to waterbend.
  8. I'm a Willshaper and my brother is a Skybreaker. We get along. But we also dont get along at all sometimes. At his worst, he would definitely consider me a good-for-nothing anarchist. And I would consider him a [redacted] [redacted] [redacted]. We just try to focus on what we do have in common, like letting people's decisions determine their outcome. I also feel like, in general, most Orders would look at the Skybreakers like Military Police/Internal Affairs so, not very favorably.
  9. He's been one of my top favorite Cosmere characters since I finished Elantris all those years ago. Didn't realize he was controversial I can agree He's a bit boring, but I enjoyed him being quizative and figuring the city out, while trying to handle his pain and keep everyone's spirits up. Superman is "kinda boring" in some regards, but there's other things that make his stories compelling. Same with Raoden for me, and I'm pumped for the sequel!
  10. He did! The way it was described made me think he almost used them in the same way an awakened might use awakened ribbons in combat.
  11. I recently retook the test after and after only ever getting Willshaper as No. 1 in the past, I got Elsecaller. Then came across this and found it really insightful. Thanks for putting this together! I think, despite the faults of the quiz, it does highlight some unique differences and similarities between certain Orders
  12. I would love it if they created a game to sell. I pictured it being played with cards and being the equivalent to the Cosmere version of Magic the Gathering, since Brandon is a fan of it and ganging up on the obvious most powerful happens all the time in 3+ player commander battles
  13. Reason would be my top choice but a few other could work. Virtuosity would be the one I'm probably least compatible with
  14. I think Soulcasting, Transportation, and Cohesion would be pretty cool.
  15. I'm not sure what, but something about it and the reference to "the bondsmith" made me think it was Ishar somehow connecting through his bouts of madness. Either way, I think the "Bondsmith" referenced was Ishar
  16. Also, whoa!!
  17. I love this. Growing up on the Coast, I've always associated water with the freedom of the sea. I doubt it'll happen, but since Lightspren are sailors, I've always hoped Brandon was drawing on that connection too. I also had the idea maybe Willshaper plate spren would be Luckspren since they use them to basically power their ships. But again, I don't think it's too likely to happen.
  18. We see the Ghostbloods looking for a way to get Stormlight off world in Book 4 and we see the purified Dor in Era 2/Sunlit Man, both of which take place after the first 5 Stormlight. I just assumed that they've gotten the process more refined for moving Investiture. But all we know about the Dor is it's there and it's "purified", but have no idea what the process of purifying entails. It could still be far more economical to figure out a way of transporting Stormlight vs the process of purifying Dor which could potentially be deadly.
  19. We know that a Mistborn burning either brass or zinc and boosting it with Duralumin can take control of Hemalurgic constructs (i.e. Vin controlling the Kolos). There's a WoB stating that a Duralumin compounder can compound connection to achieve this same control over a Hemalurgic construct. So I've been wondering, would a twinborn with either A-brass or A-zinc and F-Duralumin be able to potentially get this same control? Any theories or wild speculations? I imagine a twinborn like this would be pretting good with emotional allomancy and could come off as almost Mind control, but not sure if the underlying realmatics would combine like the two confirmed methods of getting this control.
  20. Makes me wish I could see Marsh and Vasher interact, with their long lives, deep Cosmere knowledge, and histories of combat.
  21. Me either, yet, but everything else about what a Willshaper does fits the job description. Every order needs a hobby I guess
  22. I think Willshapers are definitely the Engineers, specifically the Civil Engineers (Dustbringers are more mechanical/electrical engineer). Civil Engineers design and build infrastructure such as roads, bridges, dams, etc. Just like Willshapers. They're also "Builders" and Civil engineering is "construction engineering". Civil Engineers also do Water supply and quality, including sanitation; all things under the Willshaper purview.
  23. I completely agree it has to be F-Duralumin with the emotional allomancy. At least that's what I took it as when I read it. It'd be pretty neat if he's the character we see play with those powers in the future
  24. That's exactly what was playing in my head when I got to that part!
