  1. Breeze would come claiming he'd brought no gift and just wanted to enjoy their wine and food, but he'd be soothing away all anxiety and stress to make sure the couple had a happy wedding day. I'm pretty sure Gavinor would try to give them each a pair of Gavinor sized cake and frosting hand prints on their clothes, but hopefully someone stepped in and prevented that.
  2. That's a great theory too!
  3. I absolutely agree. The KR are a mix of Honor and Cultivation influence. Honor's stormlight powers the radiants power, I think because of the oaths. I wonder if they could also use Cultivation's power to use their surges or if her power would provide something totally different through different means? I like the idea of Cultivation's investiture being accessed by stone! That would fit really well with the Stone Shaman.
  4. Thanks for the WoBs, ya'll. Nothing like going straight to the source . I retract my totally debunked theory.
  5. I think the stormlight = pure Honor investiture makes sense, even if the spren are a mix of Honor and Cultivation. The Nahel bond is an oath between humans and spren that allows use of stormlight. Bonds and oaths are pretty much Honors thing, therefore an oath allows radiants to use his power. Access to Cultivations power is done some other way, no idea what that is though!
  6. I've got two random theories that may be total garbage. Also they don't work together so it is kind of a one or the other kind of thing, but here they are anyway! Theory #1: I postulate that animals like the Ryshadium must be native to Shinovar area. They don't have a carapace, they are just horses that are stronger, smarter, and faster than regular horses. I am guessing once more characters spend time in Shinovar we'll see more creatures like that; creatures that are a little more similar to what we'd see in our world with a bit of Rosharan twist. Theory #2: I've also wondered if Honor and Cultivation tempered the environment of Shinovar when the humans arrived. It sounds like it was already milder, but maybe they changed it even more to suite the new refugees? The plants and animals brought from Ashyn are the "normal" ones we see and there hasn't been enough intervening time for evolution to take its course to alter those to be more "Roshar-y".
  7. This podcast and the last one have me making this comparison: Does anyone else think the Kholins are the (somewhat) nicer, more competent Bluth family? I can't decide if Elhokar is Gob or Buster, but Gavilar is definitely George senior!
  8. If you are a Cosmere fan and an Arrested Development fan, then this is the moment you've waited for. Arrested Development/Cosmere memes! For Stormlight: For WoA: And general Mistborn:
  9. The black sphere is the key of F-flat minor. The black sphere is the final movement of Schubert's unfinished 8th symphony. The black sphere is Gavilar's Rosebud. The black sphere is just one of those multi-vitamins with charcoal in them, Gavilar was very health conscious. @Ripheus23, there's always another black sphere...in the banana stand?
  10. At some point Navani definitely says at some point that she never cheated on Gavliar, but she had good reason to. This implies, to me, a pretty shaky relationship. I don't know if that means Gavilar was unfaithful or just not a good partner and husband in other ways, but I really want to some day get some insight into that relationship. My guess? They totally messed up.
  11. They sing or talk in rhythm, so are my kind of people! A Parshendi/Singer/Listener song would rock!
  12. Prisoner in Hathsin, just on the off chance I was still alive when Kelsier freed everyone. Would you rather be a Returned who can eat but doesn't need to, or metabolize Stormlight like Lift so you have to eat a lot of food constantly?
  13. If you write anymore and post them I will totally sing/make recordings, especially if you come up with something nice and soprano-y
  14. Good catch! oops. And there, I've proved that I still don't remember them and it didn't affect my read at all.
  15. I didn't remember which metals did what the first time I read Mistborn, but I didn't have to because almost every time burning metal is mentioned it is accompanied by an action. Like, every time they say something about steel, pulling is mentioned in the same sentence. I figured it wasn't a big deal if I knew which metal was being used as long as I understood how it was being used and to what end. Brandon's books are for people who are comfortable feeling dumb right at the beginning because they know the pay off of how much they'll know by the end will be worth it.
  16. They pronounced it wrong then. It is a musical term, so it really does make sense for it to be pronounced properly.
  17. The podcast that had me using my batman voice: "Kelsier lived long enough to see himself become the villain." Or at least I predict that he will!
  18. For Way of Kings you'd need a prologue song exactly like the one from Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812: If you've never heard of this musical, go listen to the prologue right now. They managed to set up a big chunk of War and Peace in four and half minutes. Amazing. After this there would be the whole "Pierre" number where Kaladin could expound about his emotional state. It's perfect.
  19. I've always kind of pictured Wit as Paul Bettany, probably because of his role in Knight's Tale. I think Naveen Andrews (Sayid from Lost) could be an awesome Alethi High Prince, or maybe Gavliar. The most important question: How can we get a Jackie Chan cameo? Or at leat get him to choreograph some of the fights?
  20. That's true, but it could also be a retelling of the real world example of people trying to send stuff to assist in disaster relief and "needy" countries when that isn't really what people need. It ends up causing huge problems and undermining real relief efforts and local economic growth. It is the same plot both times, but it is representative of how people try to help but are pretty ineffective at it.
  21. Singing is what I do so when I had to come up with a username, I figured it was a no brainer. A life where everyone just sings and speaks in rhythm to music makes perfect sense to me, that's opera and musical theater!
  22. Yay! You guessed my cosmere character! A bit faster than I expected, too. I will have to work a little harder to stump you guys.
  23. I am liking theory #1, My thought is this: Where does Autonomy fall in the passionate/not passionate camp? And would she have anything to gain by manipulating other shards? The little I know about her she sounds crafty as all get out and I think she could be capable of influencing other shards without them being aware of it. She wouldn't be some new, big baddie, but she could be a very different kind of antagonist assuming she ends up as one at all. Though I suspect she will...But that's a theory for another thread!
  24. Breeze as a Truthwatcher. He is so emotionally intuitive I think it would be a good fit.
