  1. I've always wondered if Syl is an old spren, that was once bonded to a Radiant. Obviously she wouldn't be bonded during the Recreance, so she didn't end up as a dead blade. But it could be she was a spren that regularly bonded Windrunners, taking a break after her last Radiant died of natural causes when the Radiants broke their Oaths. Reason why I thought this was because like was pointed up above, there seems to be something different about Kaladin, even from other Radiants. Another thing is that Pattern said he is new and had never experienced anything like the bond with Shallan in WoR, can't remember exact words. Syl never said this, just gave the impression of been slowly remembering as Kaladin advanced his Oahts. And Syl always seemed to know a lot, even if she couldn't bring up the memories.
  2. Pfff, haven't you guys read the 103% accurate things to happen in book 3 thread? You want to know what will happen, go read it .
  3. I think Mraize is currently in a tough position. Jasnah arriving puts the GB at risk of discovery, assasination and potentially losing their KR member who was starting to integrate into the group. Whatever he does, Jasnah means nothing but bad news for him.
  4. What gave me the impression that T has no clue what the endgame is his following plan seems to be: 1. Kill monarchs 2. Cause wars, death and chaos 3. Become high king of Roshar 4. And then?... 5. Somehow humanity in Roshar is miraculously saved Until I see the logic between steps 3 and 5, I'm going to say T has no clue what he is doing. If all that was needed was to unite Roshar, why not while in his Diagram day write out the superb arguments to convince the monarchs of uniting to survive the Desolation? Because I can't believe the Diagram day T couldn't find arguments brilliant enough to separately convince the leaders of the world to unite.
  5. I think most of what he did on tWoK was Adhesion. Climbing walls with rocks, adhering arrows to his shield, etc.
  6. . Not possessive or anything are you Syl? Wow I did not expect a Shallan chapter. Kaladin's chapter was amazing, so much information there. Now on to Shallan's.
  7. There is however a big difference. Kaladin is and will be a hero in any world and circumstance. Kelsier will be (or would have been) a villain in nearly every other world and circumstance but the one he was in.
  8. 1. T did call the Diagram his god on tWoK, first time we see a pov from him. Will look it up later as have to go now. 2. I could be wrong, but the impression I got is T has no clue what the Diagram's endgame is. Thats why all the careful studying and trying to figure out the endgame by his scholars. 3. Probably, I just called him religious fanatic following point 1, but until now I had never read him like that
  9. Huge difference. I'm pretty sure Hoid actually knows what he is trying to accomplish. T is driving the world to destruction on the word of his "god" (the Diagram) and he has no clue what the end goal is going to be. Basically leaves him out to be a religious fanatic and little else.
  10. Maybe Nalan or Szeth. As I have zero intention of ever forgiving Amaram or T even if they save Roshar and single handedly defeat Odium.
  11. There was a theory about this somewhere, can't remember which forum. Also, there it was Endowment added as 5.
  12. Oh come on. I know my view of spoilers is a bit peculiar, but here it goes: if it is well written (which it will be) it won't matter if we have the whole book spoiled cover to cover. We will still love it, for the feelings, the emotions, the characters, etc. Been perfectly honest WoK and WoR are books that I love more every time I read them, so I don't see why OB will be any different .
  13. The tricky thing of shipping threads is they are seldom neat and solid, but they can start from harmless or interesting things. So...could you nuke the part of threads that are taken over by shipping? I admit I may have written in those threads once upon a time but now...peace please!
  14. I guess we'll see, but although I don't expect obvious fawning, I wouldn't be surprised to see a very deep respect for the Heralds at first. Until he realizes they are all bonkers and left the Oathpact.
  15. Except it soon became obvious that was impossible to do, since Sadeas would refuse after seing the 4v1 duel no matter the incentives.
  16. I'm split between 2 Kaladin and 1 Kaladin and 1 flashback. I'm pretty sure we won't see any Shallan, and neither any present day Dalinar. Their arcs feel done for Part One.
  17. Maxal, I generally agree with you, but not this time. Whoever kills a Shardbearer wins the Shards. That is a tradition/law so set in Alethkar its like saying the Almighty is God, and highstorms come. Its one of the most unalianable parts of being alethi. This is something we see in WoK, how they are discussing even a slave earning Shards get the Shards. Killing a highprince is bad, but stealing Shards from their rightful owner is likely at least at the same level.
  18. I've been on the shard all morning, so not sure if I read this idea on this thread or elsewhere. Someone said Dalinar would be a hypocrite to let Adolin go while trying to condemn Amaram. Except...Dalinar isn't trying to condemn Amaram, he is letting him go free. So, applying the same argument, wouldn't Dalinar be a hypocrite to let Amaram go free while condemning his son? It may be that Adolin can tie his fate to Amaram, saying he won't accept punishment so long as Amaram walks free for his crimes. Which have a similar magnitude if not worse. Kill a highprince vs. steal a shardblade and shardplate in Alethkar, where thats considered a crime beyond the pale. I could see that happening, and Adolin would likely love that outcome, as that would either leave him free or remove him, but also get rid of a walking piece of chull dung as bad as Sadeas ever was, if not worse.
  19. I'm really split on who it will be, as I could see solid arguments made for all three. I went with Kaladin, but it could be Shallan or Dalinar and just have their stories continue from other povs. Imagine if Dalinar continued from the pov of the monarchs or the highprinces for example, would be interesting. I know some will say Dalinar is the main character, but I'm not convinced of that, after all flashback character doesn't mean it has to be main character of the book. Now for Kaladin...I believe he will be back in Urithiru, as I remember a two long line excerpt Brandon read from Part Two which sounded an awful lot like a member of Bridge 4 learning to use surges. And I suppose Kaladin's story could be told for one part from the pov of Bridge 4. Whoever it is, I think they will be on the story, just not have povs. Or maybe a small pov since as said above there have been a lot of edits done since this chart was posted, therefore its just a rough guide and not something to be taken verbatim.
  20. Some final guessing now we are almost done with the sample chapters.
  21. My problem with this whole discussion is that everyone assumes Adolin must be punished because he did something wrong. Sorry, but for me he didn't do anything wrong, he did something great. The end.
  22. Is there any chance we could have 16 more upvotes every day of the first week?
  23. What shadowmancer said. I just typed "meme generator" on google and took the first site.
