  1. I'm sorry for anyone who didn't read partinel, but fainlife is a MOLD. It can't corrupt people unless they eat it. So the only way for a star to get it would be to... eat it? A mold? It would instantly burn up in the star! Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING survives getting too close to a star! I don't care how magical this mold is, mold cannot survive that kind of temperature
  2. Oh not lift. I love the idea of bendalloy compounding lift. Steeldancer would be an entirely new character. But if lift were able to compound bendalloy... the world would explode from her awesomeness
  3. Yeah the fainlife is a little far fetched, but the actual stars turning red. I'm jealous I missed that. Now just theorizing as to why the investiture might do that....
  4. *singsong* there is always a way to get out of the friction issue. If you give a steel compounder a cultivationspren (spoilers? I guess? ) then you get STEELDANCER. Featuring steelpushing, infinite speed (because friction no longer has a hold on him) healing powers, and a shardblade. Still rooting for him being able to take down the lord ruler single handed
  5. He RAFOd me about somebody being directly powered by a shard and using nightblood.
  6. Ah but you'll burn up.... therefore you need to be an edgedancer as well. STILL PUSHING THE STEELDANCER THING. Maybe if I make a big enough fuss it might get into brandons head...
  7. Ah yes but he was injured, and that would send some investiture spinning off. And the investiture on the sel system was stuffed into the cognitive realm, not giving it a chance to turn a star red. Oh and @john203 you have it backwards. Red shift comes from things moving away. The universe is red shifted
  8. Nice, that's actually a really good point... I never thought of that! A symmetrical ending would be perfect
  9. I just had an image of the alethi armies whacking each other with pool noodles oh that would be fantastic LOL. also the asterisk is probably that the honorblades are not quite as powerful as they used to be. I got that particular WoB, they used to have that direct connection to Honor. Any way what about the theory that it wasn't Helaran who was killed
  10. So then, the question to really ask brandon, is "can there be three bondsmiths at once right now" and that will either confirm or reject this theory.
  11. I think the 3rd bondsmith is bonded to a spren of adonalsium. An original spren, before honor and cultivation came, who got adopted into the bondsmiths. For some reason
  12. Very well thought out. It is quite possible that we so entirely reading too much into that WoB. He might have just been trolling us in that he's saying that "he" died because "he" was killed. Which seems obvious. And not necessarily this huge reveal. It is quite possible that it might have been a force... but who knows for sure?
  13. Welcome to the shard! Have an upvote. This is an interesting idea. And does anybody bother to read my thread on the scar? Please do! People keep mentioning it and it's KILLING ME http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/58593-talns-scar/ Btw I actually don't know how to link a different thread... but yeah speculation on the thread and what it may represent there.
  14. Is it even possible to spank a shard???
  15. Congratulations. The stick has become fire. But the amount of investiture required sucks your ambient investiture... And you die. And I wish to find beauty in everything
  16. No way. A metal to store poop in. What would you do when it gets full... And imagine being a compounder... you know what? I'm going to stop thinking about that right now because just no
  17. Granted. However, you shall not be able to feel any pain...or pleasure. You now live a monotone existence. I wish to become steeldancer (edgedancer with steel compounding abilities)
  18. I really want someone stupid to blow themselves up trying this
  19. Yeah i know. The interesting thing is that even in this the scadrians are a bit more limited... they would really need compounders. And if the rosharians were smart, they would assassinate said compounders and basically completely doom the scadrian forces.
  20. Ok related to this thread: what if we gave the scadrian army unkeyed metalminds? Specifically, BENDALLOY metalminds? No more supply train. Which means we would have to give roshar a contingent of fully outfitted KR. And maybe lift with a bendalloy compounding ability. And just because I'm still in love with the idea, Steeldancer (edgedancer with steel compounding powers) then you might even be able to throw the lord ruler against that, and it would still be an even match. After all, who could compete with Steeldancer? Infinitely fast (limited only by avaliable stormlight and steel), with a shardblade, and also able to steelpush. He might be fast enough to take the lord ruler down on his own. Or at the least give him an awesome fight
  21. Which would be interesting pitted against a rosharan army with soulcasters
  22. I had no idea that Brandon sings LOL
  23. It's kelsier. Just you wait.
  24. I still think the terriswoman is captain demoux's girl that he meets at the end of hero of ages. I only remember that because of the annotations. And that just like demoux, she became a worldhopper
  25. I had never thought about that before. Wow that would be REALLY cool.
