  1. Maybe I can explain this a little? I recently helped someone explain how rapid and extreme changes in temperature can cause severe damage to an objects structural integrity, we see something similar here. If you notice, the blade began to frost over as it neared Anna's arm; given the cold environment around it didn't cause frost, likely due to its being sheathed, this implies extreme amounts of sudden cold. Such a shift in the temperature of the blade wasn't evenly spread either. It spread from one end to the other, one side experiencing much more drastic cold than the other. I doubt that the cold would've had much time to spread into the blade either. Because cold causes objects to shrink, usually unnoticeable when it comes to metal and other solids, we have a situation where several parts of the blade, mostly if not exclusively the outermost parts, shrinking at different rates. This alone would cuase cracks in the blade and allow it to shatter on things that it, ordinarily, would've cut through with ease. Now for why anna didn't shatter. We know that love affects magic in strange ways within the Disney universe. It can restore life as seen in Snow White (though that has a scientific explanation), it can bring one back from the brink of death as seen in tangled, it can physically transform you from one thing into another as seen in the little mermaid and the princess and the frog, in Maleficent and Beauty and the Beast we see that it can remove or destroy curses, and in Atlantis and Hercules it can even remove godhood (or cause one to reject godhood. Still confused on which they were implying there, though I know what they wanted us to believe.). With this in mind, add in the fact that Anna is the first example of a human freezing due to a magically frozen heart we've ever seen. In this case, I would assume that such a being would have ice that is much more difficult to break than normal ice. Add in the act of true love she had just committed, the fact that it's a Disney film, the damage the blade would have take from the sudden cold, and the strange effects that true love has on magic, and its starting to look like there's a case that explains why she was undamaged. What do you think?
  2. No, I'm serious! I was willing to do a vampire/vampyre thing for @Oversleep, and I've been meaning to get into Astral projection for a while now. I'm building up quite a fascination for the occult and/or pagan religious practices and mythology. If you want someone who might already know about it, you could ask @Kaymyth. I'm not sure if astral projection is covered in ancient Egyptian paganism, but I'd still trust what she has to say on the subject.
  3. I'll do some research and get back to you.
  4. Salem now work well for him, all things considered! And, no. No-one has made that one. Now, however, my mind is suddenly filled with about seven thousand or so different possibilties... I both thank you and must ask why you would so callously give me such a brilliant new idea that is rightfully yours. Seriously though, good job on the epic! I am really looking forward to (role)playing with you!
  5. Sweet Gloria, this is AMAZING!!!!!!! If there be any forces that govern this world, may they bless you in whatever endeavors you attempt! Thank you!!!!!!XD
  6. I'm glad you feel welcome. Believe me, I know how it feels. I'm not even half a year old... on this site, I mean. I asked to join and I was terrified, but I think you'll find that we're a more welcome group than most, even if we're a bit on the... interesting mentality, side of things... Anyways, welcome to the reckonverse, where insanity is normality! I look forward to what you create, and the effect it has on this complex ecosystem!
  7. I... identify with this, it makes me feel... melancholy? Something bitter-sweet. Thanks @Darkness Ascendant, it means a lot to me that people understand. I'm proud of your impressive word count, and I'll go read your story as soon as I'm able. Thank you.
  8. You had my heart insiiiiide of your hands...
  9. You do deserve some time off from that, though not if it causes others a similar pain. I'm glad, though guiltily, that someone else knows what it's like. I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Yes, you and the Oregoners are like a second family to me, of-course you mean that much to me. *hugs back tightly* I only said what I felt. Your welcome, and thank you for caring. It means more to me than... well, I guess you do know, now. Thank you.
  10. @Darkness Ascendant, GET BACK ON RIGHT NOW AND ANSWER US! I don't care WHO has done WHAT to you! I'm tired of being the one to snap people out of their fears and comfort them, I'm tired of having people I admire, consider friends, and all but WORSHIP for their promise and ingenuity, attempting, considering, or even acknowledging the option of suicide! I have had to deal with this kind of thing THREE TIMES in the past TWO MONTHS and I have HAD IT with this crem! Don't you DARE end what you made- all the joy and hope and solace you've given people; I barely know you and you've helped me feel as though I'm not some worthless soul-sucking demon. Because of you I feel like I'm worth something, Something more than a dog or slave or pitiful excuse for a devils' child... and if you go, I lose that. I feel selfish for making this all about me and how you've helped keep my life intact, but it's true. The mere idea of you considering ending your life hurts me more than anyone on this site could even hope to imagine. Don't go dying on me too! I hope you read this and care... I hope your parents and whomever else were such jerks have nightmares twice as bad as the waking ones they've caused you to endure... but I hope you don't go through with it more than anything else. sorry if i bothered you...
  11. Here's the one I used for Quiara. Looking forward to seeing your new guy!
  12. Thanks! I've also been meaning to mention... my characters little friend, the one he's carrying around in Salem, he is impersonation. An epic. Are you guys okay with that? I, personally, don't really want to play out his character as well as mine, so I was planning on putting him in the adoption thread or something, but I just realized that... I didn't ask you guys for permission or give you a character profile for him. I'll work one up and give it to you soon. Sorry for that. @Edgedancer, I don't mind, she is kind of meant to describe the emotional state of the vanillas in the city, so there really hasn't been enough time, or action for there to be warranted action. Good idea for @Darkness Ascendant, though. What day you, DA? (Ps. May I call you DA?)
  13. Well then, almost anywhere would do. Do you have a character concept worked out yet? Also, @frost, I'm sure it'd be fine if you joined. First, though, you'd need to present your character for the moderators to look over. I'm fairly sure they'll say yes, but it's always nice to have others help with checking your character over. After all, sometimes the ideas that you randomly spark in others can bring out their own creativity. It's always nice to see that happen. What say you, @Voidus, @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, @Edgedancer?
  14. @Darkness Ascendant, it really depends on your epic/vanilla/multi(/uni)cellular character. There are certain threads that are forbidden to certain characters, so those might be off limits, and other threads are pretty appealing to certain other character types. What did you have in mind?
  15. Fine!? Try amazing! ... I don't really know if the glass thing is possible, but the glass was being damaged by severe and sudden changes in temperature, even before skinsaver attempted his breakout; for weeks or months before hand. The glass was probably structurally weak by that point and her sudden increase in fluctuations would only weaken it further. The bullet shots... well it depends on how many there were, though I assume that he fired several rounds into the glass. I suppose that in such a situation we could forgive the slightly unlikely speed with which the glass broke.
  16. IronForge stared at the 'God king' epic, trying his best to emanate waves of raw disapproval. No-one could possibly dare to be so non-chalant about something that dangerous around his 'brother'; not while retaining an undamged cardiovascular system. He allowed his eyes to narrow slightly before he spoke. "If anything you do puts sonny in danger, without his direct consent, to any degree, I will flood your veins with liquid iron and rip you to shreds from the inside out; are we clear?" He waited for a moment to make his point indisputable, then turned and addressed the new man, forming his coat into a kind of hammock that he slipped his brother into as he did so. The first thing he noticed was how high the iron content of the other mans blood was, despite being at naturally achievable levels; they were surprisingly high nonetheless. "Well hello sir, that's an interesting pair you have there; they almost seem... dead. Is it safe to assume your an epic? You have some interesting company if you are. Their faces are almost unnaturally expressionless; I would assume that you have some form of mental manipulation, correct?" IronForge grinned and allowed iron dust to start appearing and falling from his palms at a noticeable rate. He intended to 'befriend' every one of the demons in this town, even if it was forced; Sonny would need an intelligence network in this town.
  17. I was asleep for that, but... 5,5 7 5 ... I'm not sure if that's an actual haiku, or, if it is, whether or not it was intentional, but nice job!
  18. With no wish, the joker cackles in glee and shreds your soul into non-existence, leaving your cognitive and physical aspects intact. You body and mind slowly wither and decay, though they remain alive. As there is nothing keeping you alive, yet nothing that can truly die, you live a half-life as a physical ghost; unable to die, yet unable to truly live. I wish for the nightwatcher to be returned to her rightful position. Goodbye joker.
  19. @A Budgie, almost the entire population of my high-school. At least, the the population I'm able to interact with on a regular basis. I can't honestly speak for the whole school, but from what I've seen... I just hope that the fine arts become more appreciated by the time I have kids in high-school.
  20. I've been thinking about the fine arts. Also: @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, You have been through things just as bad as this, but less prepared or emotionally stable than you are now. You've got this, no one can beat you down! You've proven you can take a terrible hand and make yourself a good life out of it; you'll repeat that feat. Everyone here believes in you, so go on! Forge your future in the fires of adversity and make yourself and your future stronger than solid steel as a result! The only advice I can give other than that is stuff you've already been doing. Live frugally, save when you can, and stay positive. You'll push through.
  21. About the music thing, I guess I know how to play the piano, and have less than the basics in violin, and each of my cousins families(seven-nine of them, I lose track occasionally of my more-than-thirty-nine-in-number cousins) can play play either piano, woodwind, strings, or percussion... yeah; some Americans are musical. I think this actually might be better suited to the 'bad day' thread. I guess I'll go post the spoilers stuff there. Anyways, I've always considered Europe to be more musically inclined than the US. Maybe neither country is more or less musically oriented than the other? Maybe we're equally musical countries?
  22. The EOC/STAAR test was yesterday. ITS FINALLY OVER!!!! I also think I did a fairly good job. @Kaymyth, What and Where is JordanCon?
  23. Unfortunately, no. I'm a copper misting. But, I have some advice. Fill a cup about 3/4 full of water, add a few drops of lemon juice, add some honey, mix well, and heat in a microwave until warm. My parents call it lemon honey and it soothes The throat like no ones business. If that doesn't work, try a similar mixture but replace the lemon juice and about 1/4 of the water with some apple-cider vinegar. It tastes terrible and goes down hard, but it does help. Sorry for the pain, and I apologize for your having gotten sick. If there's anything I can do, let me know.
