  1. He was in Chicago. Despite having been in Tennessee, with missing posters for him in every third police station, and having almost no cash, Michael had made it to Chicago. His dad had told him his mother had been the best liar of all time, good enough to convince rocks they were fire, and he'd told Michael that his mothers gift was in him too; apparently he hadn't been lying. A good thing too, in michaels opinion. When strangers knock on your door and tell you to go with them to some camp or risk painful death by monterous beast that thirsted for your blood, you tend to not believe them; and when those monsters actually come to life and attack you? You usually run away. He'd run from his father too, not wanting him to get hurt, but now he was in Chicago. What was he going to do now? He sat on the curb of the road outside some tall skyscraper, he'd heard some passersby call it the 'Willis tower' and another person called it the 'sears tower'. It didn't matter to him. He just sat there wondering what he was going to do; he scanned the crowds of people walking along the sidewalks as he thought, watching for the look of someone who was lying or hiding something. He could always tell when someone was lying, yet another gift from his mother. Whoever she had been. [Hope this thread isn't dead. Hope this post revives it. Anyone still want to play with me? 2. Not to revive a dying thread, but who's still following this thread? I had some ideas for how we might be able to resurrect or reincarnate this thread and its twin. You guys wanna help?
  3. Hurt Feruchemy, heal Forging. Allomancy - 6 HP Feruchemy - 23 HP Hemalurgy - 8 HP Surgebinding - 5 HP Forging - 2 HP Awakening - 9 HP Aviar - 12 HP
  4. I wish there was a smiling sparkly eyes emoji on here! I love that sentence! Wait a second; pictures! The picture in the spoilers is my feels about this sentence. EDIT: something happened to the quote button. I'm talking about the minute minute sentence. Eee!
  5. Perfect! That would also explain why the webs are so tough, the have to withstand decades of constant heat and or contact with magma. Now I just need to work on what they were originally feeding on... I'll be back in a minute!
  6. Thanks! I'll try to figure out how they can survive the cold of the caves but not the cold of the mountains.
  7. Hey, @The Flash, if you're still looking for a reason why the Kraut are leaving the valleys, I came up with a creature that might provide answer to that question. There are usually caves in mountains, right? Sometimes those caves can form long systems of caverns connected together in complex patterns. Well, my idea was that Giant cave spiders, maybe three-five feet tall and four-seven feet long, live in those cave systems. Maybe some of them left the caves in search of food and found the valleys. If they came out at night, they could easily spin large webs to try and catch prey with little to no interference. The webs can be dissolved by acid, though without an enzyme found in the spiders venom/saliva it can take days to fully dissolve. Given this situation, the Kraut would start getting captured in the webs. Within a few months the spiders would begin to completely overwhelm the Kraut, forcing them to flee the valleys. The reason the spiders can't follow is due to the cold temperature of the mountain at high altitudes. I'd need to explain how they survived in the cave if this idea works, but hey. It's a work in progress. What do you think?
  8. I know you already explained why, but when I saw the name, well... I can't help myself. Jooohn Jacob Jingle Hymer Schmidt! His name is my name too...!
  9. Aww, I only got the So-Absorbed-In-A-Book-The-Teacher-Banned-Me-From-Reading-In-Class-Due-To-The-Difficulty-Of-Returning-Me-To-Reality award. It started with snapping (of the fingers), escalated to shaking (my physical manifestation), and ended with banning (me from books). ... I'm still proud of it, actually.
  10. Granted, though the ability to enter your realm has a cost consisting of you removing a portion of your body permanently.(i.e. Cut off a finger, toe, limb, etc...) I wish for permanent access to every form of investiture as well as the ability to gift power to others. (I made a double wish, I get a double curse. Have Fu-uuun!)
  11. I'm like this, only dreams are included. Most nights are a long, timeless blackness until my alarm goes off. I scream, panic, then force it open and pull my leg free. I then sit and try to wrap my head around the pain while using my shirt as a makeshift bandage. Why must bear traps hurt so badly? I read your words and felt a phantom pain in my leg.
  12. Yes! Yes! Yes! Please, allow me to enter into this thread of beautiful images frozen forever in space and time and left here to be viewed by those given permission by the guardian of those infinitely long lived images of frozen life.
  13. I agree with Hemalurgic_Headshot; joined after the event, have seen you apologize kindly enough not to care about the 'afore mentioned event, and based on the comments of those before me, your writing, and my own judgment, I have decided I like you. Welcome back! May you stay with us for as long as the sun burns in the sky, the moon courts the stars, and the ancient ones dance in their rings!
  14. Veni Vedi Vici. I came to school, I saw people twirling flags (and figured out what color guard was), and I conquered the tryouts. Next year, I too shall be on the field twirling flags to the sound of my school's band!
  15. Anyone else find it ironic that Ati is simultaneously the name that translates as "Hope" and the name of the "god" of raw, untamable, and utter destruction and entropy? Just a thought I had while browsing the aons.
  16. Twinborn, double bronze. I would choose forgery, but that wasn't an option. Double bronze is my backup choice and I'd love it SO much! You can sense others when they're using magic, you can stay awake and aware for a nearly infinite amount of time with few to no consequences. Another positive thing I can see is that if I chose to store instead of tap, I'd be forced to become fenomenal at time management, which would mean that I could become a person with minimal time spent unconscious, maximum time spent perfectly aware, and spectacular time management, all of which adds up to one spectacular scholar/worker/anything! Oh bronze compounding my love, why must you be unreachable?
  17. What if this story is Cosmere style and a couple million authors are writing everyone's story and interconnecting them to make a gigantic series that no human could ever read all the way through?
  18. When you see the word "dominant" first as damnation (SA) and, when you look a second time, as dominion (Sel). It kept switching between those two and I had to ask a friend what the word was. Even then I had to squint before it registered in my brain.
  19. Don't worry, today's is the Revenge of the 5'th! It still applies!
  20. I believe English is worse in that regard. Also: I'm a freshman in Spanish 1. I barely understood every other word! I need more practice. Well, Spanish and Italian are more closely related than Spanish and English, so they have more perfect and near-perfect cognates. I like my Spanish teacher; he teaches me things about English as he teaches Spanish!
  21. Today is my pre-AP biology STAAR test, and I'm feeling pretty confident I'll do well. Aside from that, we're reading "To kill a Mockingbird" in my English class and I agreed to make a cheap Nightvale knockoff with a friend of mine on wattpad. I'm having a ton of fun with it and, overall, my life is going pretty good right now! Also, @Darkness Ascendant, thank you. You go through so much and stay strong, you create such beautiful art, and when you tell stories about even the darkest of times, hope can be found laces throughout it, your such a positive influence in the lives of those around you; don't let anyone tell you otherwise! @TwiLyghtSansSparkles, your writing is amazing! It catches and keeps tight hold of my attention in ways I've seen few authors replicate. You're an amazing writer, and an amazing person; if you've got an idea that you think works, I'll support you as long as I am able. Good luck, both of you; I look forward to seeing what you're futures bring!
  22. Sorry about your exams, but thank you. Anyway I can relieve some of your stress?
  23. Anyone still here? I'm kinda waiting for someone... anyone really... you know, for some conversation?
  24. Are... Are you still accepting new players? If so, I could work up a character to join with pretty quickly; This place sounds rather fun!
  25. Granted, you drool instead. I wish for discord(MLP) and bill cipher(no introduction required) meet up and fight odium together, leaving the Cosmere for time and all eternity afterwards.
