Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
ShadowLord_Lith replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted, but every time you try to tell someone you get tongue tied and forget until you see a pug. I wish that I made everyone I came into contact with happy. -
I would be very interested in this, as I'm trying to develop a similar system to use in a story I'm considering. If there is any way I can help, please let me know.
-
Alright. I'll see if that's a possibility.

The Wheel of Time RPG planning thread-vers. 2.0

Fair point. I don't know if this is still a possibility, but I'd be happy to try and work on it again. How would such a plot point system work? -

How do you do this?! I need to know! -
Wait, no moon? Then... doesn't that mean that there wouldn't be any tides? Aren't those extremely important for sea-fishing and sailing?

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
ShadowLord_Lith replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. Your bane is that, once you've fallen asleep, you cannot wake up until seven hours minimum have passed. Oh holy watcher of the night, spren of a goddess and protector of the old magics, I beg thee to grant me the power to travel any distance in the blink of an eye via holes I can form in the air. -
... not when compared to nighthound... or my one try at making a creepy epic that was never fully realized. I called him Nightvale before I gave up on him; for obvious reasons. Hey, winter, don't you also play one of the announcers?
-
I remember her! She's the one that likes to turn people into fleshbags in the literal sense by taking all of their bone-related mass away! She'd be fun! May I, oh devoted of the winter, be allowed to fight with your most bone-acular epic?
-
Since I figure it's long past time to ask, does anyone want to fight IronForge? If not, I'll go around and ask someone to fight with me, or I'll ask @Voidus if I can fight Imperium or Meliability.

... thought I'd deleted most of it and bolden the rest. Also only just realized there was no need to quote you. Sorry, my mistake.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

When you read this thread and accidentally start incorporating every suggestion into your own life. -
I can try to help make it otherwise. I came up with nine different worlds with different magic systems for each one, but before I post that I have a question for @CarolaDavar. Is one's voice an instrument that can be used? If so, wouldn't almost every magic user want to master it, seeing as it'd be an almost limitlessly versatile and almost always accessible instrument available at a moment's whim with no need to lug around an external instrument?

IronForge nodded his head, the grin remaining on his face. " I am indeed a manipulator of metals, iron specifically, and yes I can create iron; other than that, I can liquefy and solidify metal at will." He kept back his enhanced mental speed and ability to split his focus three ways; he needed to keep some secrets for myself. He Glanced at sonny and was about to discuss him and the girls at the new epics side when Some kind of weather manipulator entered with an old woman, signed up for the fights, and then brusquely left with a display of power. He sat still for a moment, contemplating the strangeness of the event, before turning his attention back to the epic in front of himself. "That was a thing that happened. May inquire after your name and the names of your pets?" Sonny began to stir and IronForge gently rocked him back to sleep, unwilling to have him awaken in a bar instead of the hotel. Sonny had told him to wake him when they arrived at their apartments after all, and they hadn't arrived there yet.

The Wheel of Time RPG planning thread-vers. 2.0
ShadowLord_Lith replied to ShadowLord_Lith's topic in Inactive RPs
It was the sitters working together. still, it could be useful when he's trying to climb somewhere. Until we get enough people to play, we should probably be discussing the finer points of the game. for example: Who will play as the forsaken? What will alert the players to the presence of the forsaken and their escape? and what will convince the players characters to stick together? -
The Wheel of Time RPG planning thread-vers. 2.0

Sounds fantastic. A platform of air that he could stand on seems rather unique actually. It was mentioned in the series that a person couldn't use air to hold themselves up no matter how strong in the power they are; something about pulling oneself into a standing position by pulling on their own hair. what you suggest Laeran can do would imply that he can create a specialized weave of air that it capable of holding not only other people, but himself as well, in the air. I bet certain people would do almost anything to learn a weave like that. -

Awesome! Sorry for taking so long, today was hectic. Does Laeran have a talent? And, since he is a wilder, does he know any unique weaves? -
Hey! There was a thread exactly like this one a little while ago, but other than me, @Silverblade5, and @Exalted Dungeon Master, it sort of died. I liked the way the thread had started and decided to start a new one to try and re-weave this RPG. The story: Anyone can join at any time, but you have to follow two simple rules: 1. To play, you must follow both this thread and the actual RP thread; this will keep you updated about whose turn it is and what is going on. 2. To play you must provide a character profile and an introductory scene. I'll provide an example** below, hopefully you find it helpful. I know it might rankle a bit to have to follow these rules in order to play, but I want this thread to start off well and survive to the finish. Those ideas actually came from the Reckoners RP, and it's been around for years, so I know that they work. I hope you enjoy the game, let's all have fun and play together! *This is an AU or alternate universe wherein Sammael was reborn by the shadow before Tarmon Gai'don and he and Moghidean were captured and held captive so that they could be rung for information on weaves from the age of legends. **The example: The available types are: Channeler- Wilder, Wise One, Aes Sedai, Windfinder, or Asha'Man; Human; Wolfbrother; and Warder. ***The talents mentioned above are the talents that the Aes Sedai have mentioned. I would advise picking one or none as they are supposed to be rare and many can be game changing later on, but they are your characters and its up to you how you design them. Most of the talents require channeling, Some don't. The ones in this RP are as follows:

Got it, Hang on just a sec.

Well that's fantastic! I was thinking that we should probably start a new planning thread as the fact that we have four pages might stop new players from joining, after that we could maybe restart the actual game thread. I had an idea for there to be one rule for joining the game: you have to follow both the game thread and the planning thread. If people accept the rule, then they'll get notifications when a new person posts; that'll let people not have to check the thread a dozen times a day for weeks to avoid getting behind during the slow periods, and it'll let them get alerted when people post. That should help save interest and keep people updated with this thread not easily getting forgotten. I think that's why the Reckoners thread works so well, people follow the threads and so get notified when an update happens; I mean, they've stayed alive this long, Right? What do you think?

(It's alright, I only just noticed you'd posted; sorry. ) I finally managed to cut myself free from the ropes binding me, cutting off my instinctive tapping of bronze. As I dropped to the ground, I I noticed that the rope also fell limply to the ground, whatever magic had been animating it simply... leaving. Whatever had been put in that rope was now gone and had no chance of being recovered; which was a shame. After seeing the Magic in action, I wanted to gain some, and the way he'd been able to infuse the rope with his 'Breathe' suggested he might be able to give me some as well; but that would come later, for now we had business to discuss, Hoid related business. "Now that that's over," I said, my voice hard and sharp, anger obvious on my face, "can we return to the matter at hand? Sorry about your ropes, but I don't handle being messed with very well." I turned back to Mathwyndle. "What did Frost tell you to do once we arrived? Did he give you any leads as to Hoids location?"
