  1. Failen looked around slowly sitting down to give his balance a chance to recover. He did notice that the buzzing feeling wasn't fading- which meant either channeling that much power head expand his own natural access to light magic, or he was in an area with a ridiculously high concentration of it. Probably the latter, given that this was Alyssa's home. He wasn't used to this much light magic... it made the small portion of dark magic inside him ache.
  2. Failen pushed magic into the note he held, and the sudden influx from the other two made him grimace as he channeled it all. He'd only ever felt his grandmother wielding this much magic at once, and it was extremely hard to direct. He managed, by some miracle though, and felt the bow shift for an instant. "Here we go..." He prepared for the sudden, jarring motion, and wasn't surprised when it happened. He was just surprised that it ended up pulling the entire clearing with them. Most of the soil and plants were lost along the way, but there was a cloud of otherworldly dust awaiting them when they finished- dust supercharged with light magic. Failen shivered, still feeling overcharged from the magic and dizzy from using so much of it. He was only keeping his balance by holding onto the bow Alyssa had made- which was now noticeably glowing and clear.
  3. Failen sighed, breathing out as light flooded the icy bow, filling it with a bright light and making it look almost as brilliantly blue as the sky normally did. "Everyone that wants to go with us, grab onto the bow or grab onto someone touching the bow. If anyone can protect us, please do so. I'm still new at this, and something could go wrong. I would very much rather avoid that." His hands continued glowing, filling the bow with more and more light and power.
  4. I'm sorry, I only just saw this. Um... Lasagna. Yes, I can. When is the next VC on Discord you could join? I'll try to be there. I dare you do one of those heel click things successfully, where they take both feet off the ground and click their heels, you know? I've done it before, so I know it's possible...
  5. I'll take truth.
  6. (I'm sticking out right now, so I don't think that's such a bad thing. )
  7. Shae blinked, confused, though the video started before he could say no, and after it ended, the man left before he could try and ask what the heck was happening. He blinked, trembling softly as he looked back at the screen, touching his neck and the mark on it absently, he replayed the video. And then did it again. He watched it three times before doing and going back to his books. He breathed, grabbing a journal and detailing everything he could about the situation, everything about how Dan held him and all of his thoughts on the matter. Then he wrote down his conclusion, looking at the page and its scrawled, barely legible notes. He'd written it in short hand, and a combination of Mai-pon symbols that translated into Scadrian words, the Scadrian symbols I'd which translated into Hallendren words that reflected what he was trying to say. He was used to thinking his thoughts like this, and understood the writing easily. Anyone else would need to know which languages to translate into and know all the languages, then guess the right order and direction to read in order to understand it. He closed the journal, sitting on the bed and waiting. He trusted Dan, but something here was off. He wanted to know why these people wanted him so badly they'd try to trick him like this. So he waited, planning to agree. Actually, they were probably watching him right now- why wait? "If you can hear me... I... I agree... I'll join you." His voice trembled, cracking slightly near the end. Mainly from his worry that he was betraying The Church, but he was grateful for it. It made his attempt to seem like a distraught man hiding his emotions seem more real. Honestly, with only that, he could tell Dan had been serious- he'd seen himself struggling to breath. That part hurt, but... he trusted Dan. After all, he hasn't seen what his new employer had said or done after the video cut off. Rather suspiciously in his mind. @Blessing of Potency @Sherlock Holmes
  8. Jace smiled, texting Shana and Leona so they'd both know, just in case they were doing different things. 'Ax and I are going to spend some time with each other at our apartment now that we're done at the mall and the JOP. Text or call us when the party's ready, okay? :)'
  9. Failen took the bow, breathing out as he started to exercise his magical 'muscles', using a trickle at first, just enough to examine the object. Then more, to change the object. Then even more to make it into what he wanted. He drew on whatever magic John and Alyssa had flowing through them, almost flawlessly converting it into his own kind with very small losses- mainly in the form of light as they began to glow. The amount of magic he was now channeling was more than he'd ever used in his entire life combined, and he felt like he was burning alive- while at the same time being cooled and frozen on the inside. Add in a trickle of an in-between and he managed to pour a ridiculous amount of power into the bow, and then started shaping it into what he needed, using every trick and spell he knew to get the connection to Alyssa's first bow to be what the spell followed instead of the fairy queen. It was slowly beginning to make his brain hurt.
  10. Failen bit his lip. It might... anything you've owned for a long time would be better. the more important it is to you, the better. So your first bow is absolutely perfect. This brand new ice bow, though... As long as it becomes a permanent feature of the landscape, it'll be fine. "Are you all ready? We'll have to move fast once it's finished..." His grandmother had made portals from rocks and turned them into statues, or simply enchanted the statues. It all depended on how permanent it was. As a source of magic? Sure, impermanent is fine. As a portal? The longer lasting, the better.
  11. Failen paused, considering. "Maybe... I'd need to connect two objects that hold a lot of significance with each other- I'm part unicorn, so getting to the fairy realm is easy. Do you have a place where you own something? I could connect something you have with something you have somewhere else- touching that item would then pull you to that place." It was harder, but with two people helping... he might be able to make it work. He'd have to, actually, if he wanted to live. I think so, though having the help would be the most important part. They could correct any mistakes I make in the magic... I really hope you have a place. anyone in the group could make it work...
  12. Failen blinked. "Oh... there's... there's a chance I could open a page to the fairy realm, if I had access to enough light magic..." He hasn't ever done it before, but... there- was a chance. They'd just be on his earth when they left, and they'd probably lose their memories of the place afterwards.
  13. Failen nodded, listening and waiting, worried and fearful. The sun... exploding...
  14. Failen looked over at them, forcing himself up to his feet. He didn't even remember falling, but his body hurt pretty badly. "What? Why? What's happening?"
  15. Jace got these as he got off the bike, smiling and quickly texting back. 'I love green, and yellow is awesome too, but really any color is pretty awesome. Why?' He didn't know why that mattered, since it was just a party, but still. If his friend was curious, he'd fill in the blank on her answer sheet.
  16. Jace noticed the text as he waited for Ax to get on the motorcycle. They'd just finished talking to Ax's family, and he hadn't understood the meaning of relief until he'd heard them approve and agree to show up to the party. He grinned, responding quickly before getting on and hugging Ax from behind. He felt proud of the response he'd given: 'Ax loves Pizza, and I like Chinese. Homemade, actual Mexican food is divine though. We're both going to be in college soon either way, and honestly any food will be good at that point. Hope that helps!'
