    Sazed Protecting Scadrial

I was playing around with fractal images, and this one reminded me of the scene where Sazed is protecting his world from another shard.
  2. From the album: Sazed Protecting Scadrial

I made this to represent Sazed protecting Scadrial from Trell.
  3. Remember that kandra use hemalurgy (to stay alive!).
  4. Regarding the words of the Diagram that Odium couldn't see. My wife mentioned that perhaps they were written on metal (or some other metal, specific to Oidum), which would make it harder for a shard to see.
  5. Well, might as well give it a try!
  6. The other two spren were the ones who became the thunderclasts.
  7. Another two questions: Why was Taln's healing only temporary? Why did Ash try to get him away from Dalinar, if Dalinar was the reason he came out of his stupor?
  8. I think that one is a definite no. As for the Ghostbloods, Shallan keeps acting like she is not working for them, but she keeps doing what they want! Perhaps the true test will be whether or not she helps Sja.
  9. Thank you for your thoughts on my questions! [I think the Calderis is probably right about Yelig-nar being that third black spren more powerful than the two thunderclasts. I also like that thought about Venli being #10 that some people posited. I also like the theories about the dagger.] Now, what questions did you feel the book left unanswered? I'm interested to see what others are thinking about!
  10. Now that I'm done reading Oathbringer, I have a ton of questions, many of which will probably only be answered in later books. This thread is for people to share the questions they have that have not yet been answered. Here are some of mine: - Why did Moash have to be the one to use the dagger, and not the fused? [Did it connect him to the Oathpact somehow?] - Who was Vivenna chasing? Mraize? What exactly was stolen? [I'm guessing Nightblood.] - If the cryptic that Hoid saved was Elhokar's, then why didn't it go back to the cognitive realm at his death? Is it his son's? - How did they save Elhokar's son from the queen's guard, in an occupied city, full of evil spren, unmade, etc...., etc...? WOW! - Who was the 10th person who was missing when the 3 realms were unified by Dalinar? - When will Dalinar put it together that Szeth was hired by Taravangian? Will Szeth tell Dalinar about the awful experiments done by Mr. T? - What was the third powerful black spren with Odium at the end? [Maybe I just missed it in the avalance at the end. I don't think it was the Thrill spren.] And of course, the biggest whopper of them all: - How in the world will Brandon outdo himself for a 4th time in a row??!! [That ending was amazing!!!]
  11. So, I've been wondering what exactly "unite them" means. Gavilar apparently took it to mean unite the humans into a single controlled kingdon. Much of the time, it appears Dalinar took it to mean unite humans in a coalition. At the end of Oathbringer, it is hinted that it could also refer to his act of uniting the three realms. I wonder, though, if it couldn't presage an even bigger act of unity-- uniting the shards of Adonalsium together again.
  12. I just got my pickup number. I get book 1080. Quite a disappointment since I tried to get on their system for 2 hours. :-(
  13. Yeah, I tried to go say hi today, and the tents were gone! Yikes! They must have been growing beards, and broken the BYU honor code. ;-)
  14. That's exactly what I have too, so you and I are probably good!
  15. Ah, well... if you find extra time on Monday then.... Enjoy the camping! :-)
  16. If you get tired of sitting outside, feel free to stop by my office (318 TMCB). I have 4 commander decks there.
  17. Are you sure? The blurbs that start each chapter suggest that perhaps Dalinar gets even lower, and murders someone who loved him.
  18. The hard part about these flashbacks are that we are not seeing how Dalinar became the person he is now. We are seeing a downward slide, not the upward path he eventually took to become a better man. That is making it hard for me to like his character. I need to understand how he got to where he is, especially since he was in such a low place--much lower than I would have thought possible given how noble he is now.
  19. I think this is just amazing.
  20. Finally worked! (It's annoying that it looks like I'll be book #1200.)
  21. I've been trying for the past 100 minutes. Same error: The requested URL was not found on this server. 404 Not Found. I tried different computers. I tried different browsers. I tried rebooting this machine. Nothing has worked so far.
  22. That was my question! (Meaning: Literally, I was the one who asked Brandon that question.) I was (and still am) very interested in what will happen to Vasher, and my impression after talking with Brandon was that we would hear about him in this book, but maybe that was a mistaken impression.
  23. This almost happened to Vin, with the lead ball coated in atium. Since you can technically burn lead (with disastrous consequences), I suppose you could ask whether she could have felt the lead under the atium, or if the atium truly hid what was underneath.
  24. So, did Dalinar kill the kid? Dalinar doesn't want Gavilar to know what he did. And yet, in that same scene we find out that it is public knowledge that Dalinar killed the ruler and his heir. So... did he actually kill the kid?
