Shardcast

This time on Splintercast, we get a Shallan flashback, where she plans for her family to escape. Kaladin and Adolin have the best bromance of all time, and Alyx freaks out (but that isn't new). Then we actually see Dalinar again! And Wit appears, and has a conversation with Amaram, and gets one of my favorite lines in the whole book. It's wonderful. Prepare yourself for more Splintercast right now.

It's time for a super-sized Splintercast. (You should maybe call this one a Splinter+Slivercast or something) And this is it. The moment you've waited for. One of the moments where you know Alyx will lose her entire mind. Yep: it's the duel at the end of part three. What more could you ask for? Really, you should just listen to these right now.

We're back! Where have we been? Did Odium Splinter us in our sleep? Well, that's entirely possible that he Splintered my brain, yes, but it's mostly due to busy busy business on both Feather and I's part. Fear not, though, because Splintercast is going to dare to do what a 17th Shard podcast has never done: use a schedule. New content will go up three (maybe four) times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. A buffer is in the works so you don't have to wait more. Woo!

Look, when I say this is the best day of Splintercast yet--or, quite possibly ever--I'm not kidding. This is Alyx's very favorite. Just listen to Chapter 41. There are gasps and also, perhaps desks broke. It's hard to tell. And that's not all, because then you get to her totally fangirl over Mraize. It's a very deep kind of love there.

    Also, kittyspren.

It's Splintercast, and we're going into Part Three of Words of Radiance! There are Splinters, and they are cast. Like the splinters that cast themselves away from your fleshy fingers. Like the splinters that cast magic spells. Presumably Awakening, I guess? Like... Kaladin cast off his chains? I don't know, but I should probably be saving these terrible puns for other episodes where I'm late on uploading, and I haven't had time to listen to them.

Phew, after that amazing ending of Part Two, we need a little breather I think, so it's just interludes today, where Feather misses some very critical information! What a slacker... Unrelated, but fun fact: when Brandon refers to Words of Radiance is a trilogy, he's referring to the fact that in other markets where the book will be split, there are natural break points. The end of part two is one of them. Neat!

This time on Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance, we have a special treat: it's the end of Part Two. So you know what happens: on the first chapter, Feather forgot her new mic. Way to be. Don't worry, she fixes it. Then the amazingness of this part of the book. Look, you don't want to listen to me blab, you want to hear the sobs. And oh there are sobs.

Welcome back to the Splintercast. To no one's surprise, Shallan continues to be awesome. She has a wicked tongue, you know? Yep. Alyx talks about Shallan and Kabsal a bit--and tongues--and she gets "interrupted." Sure. For four hours? Sure Feather. Then there's more shipping. You aren't surprised. And then Alyx's favorite ship: Kaladin/Petty Rivalries That Are Probably Dumb. Like Kaladin vs. Horses. Bridgeboy vs. Princeling. Snark is wonderful.

Welcome back to Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance. My apologies; I've been away and Alyx has been busy. But we're back with daily episodes, and this time, with five chapters (though some are quite short)! Shallan does a thing. Gets Bluth feels. Alyx can't pronounce things. Everything you want out of Splintercast.

And then she sees the picture. She babbles... continuously. Look you didn't expect this, but then you totally do in retrospect. Thanks Dan Dos Santos for these delightful freakouts.

Welcome back to The Splintercast Reads Words of Radiance. In this section, Alyx mentions Renarin and her RP group, Sydney Scroungers, in the first two minutes. If you don't know Alyx, well, I need to tell you something. She really, really likes Renarin. You know how Wit enjoys mockery so much? Alyx loves Renarin even more, and while you think I'm joking, well... you just keep listening to Splintercast and I think you'll see I am not at all.

Here we listen to the second Eshonai interlude, and then we move into the first two chapters of Part Two! Enjoy!

We have a treat for you today. Our illustrious and radiant (see what I did there?) Alyx, also known as FeatherWriter, is doing a very special podcast series where she records her live reactions as she reads Words of Radiance for the very first time. There is crying. There is sobbing. Fangirling. Descent into sleep-deprived madness. It's everything you'd ever want from a reaction podcast, and I guarantee 40% more people will fall in love with her than before (in which case, back off.).

Welcome to the brand-new Shardkeepers Podcast! No, it's not where keep all the shards of glass to ourselves (still, you can't have them, they are our weapons), it's where we, the Sharders, are also the Keepers of knowledge. Like that Terris order, we're here to edjumacate you about... stuff. Or something.

I'm not doing a very good job of selling this one. Let's try again.

Welcome to Shardkeepers, our theory podcast. If you want theories on the cosmere, you've come to the right place. If you don't want theories, well, you can go, but watch for the shattered glass on the way out.

    Shardcast Season 1, Episode 1

    By Chaos, in Shardcast,

We're back, and better (allegedly) than ever! We're switching it up, and now the main Shardcast will be our podcast where we go reading through each book. No, we aren't narrating every book--we know, you're sad--but Mi'ch, Josh, and Eric are here to give you commentary on the books, annotations, and everything! And try to make it entertaining, somehow. This episode's entertainment comes from meat. Vegetarians need not apply. You'll see.

You know the sophomore slump, where the sequel is never as good as the first in a series? In this episode of Shardcast, we desperately try to avoid the sophomore slump with quotes and a better outline. Then, of course, everything Splinters. Fortunately, Kerry is able to put it together again and it's totally seamless. No awkward pauses or forced segues here, no sir.
