Kaladin Stormblessed

I am uploading this here with permission from the artist: Zusacre

The original description:

“The Way of Kings” by Brandon Sanderson is absolutely the best book I’ve ever read, and I’m so happy I finally completed this ****** drawing (after [...] five months). But I just LOVE this book. Can’t wait for the next volume :la:

I tried not to draw a specific scene in the book, I just wanted to draw Kaladin how I imagine him –without Shardplate or Shardblade, but with a spear and Sylphrena on his side, the slave brands on his forehead and with curling black hair. His armor and spear I have drawn without a purpose, but I wanted the red cord on his shoulder as a memory of his time as squadleader – the other ones on his spear I draw for fun :D/>/> Also I draw a coming highstorm in the background and the shattered plains – and on the ground some spheres x]

“Kaladin spun through the last motions of the kata, chasm forgotten, bridgemen forgotten, fatigue forgotten. For a moment, it was just him. Him and the wind. He fought with her, and she laughed.” –from the first book :]

Done on Photoshop CS5. Please don’t copy it without my permission
