To sail into a Highstorm was suicide...

Started this one at 11:30 this morning and I'm finishing up now, just 7 hours later. Pretty happy with the fast turnaround =)

I love the contrast between the sky and sea! Despite the highstorm, please take me there!

Did you take inspiration from the Words of Radiance cover for the highstorm? I see some similarities there. It's a great painting!

Isn't the spanker too big? I mean, half of it extends over the boat. It would make the boat weather helm.

Thanks! I didn't refer from it directly, but I believe I took inspiration from the same sort of thing as Michael Whelan. I was pulling from images of the leading edge of a hurricane.
