So is it just me or did marasi seem a little salty about Wayne and melaan on the train?

She has a serious conversation toward the beginning about how he needs to move on from tanners and then when he is found with melaan she tells him “that’s not moving on that’s shooting ahead like a bullet” or something similar and then walks away.
Now this i would chalk up to just being kinda pissed that Wayne was “snogging” while they were almost getting killed except idk the stuff kinda keeps coming up and she doesn’t seem angry at melaan for not helping just wax for doing what he was doing which kinda to me indicates a problem with something other than just him not being helpful.

then at the graveyard we get “she stuck close to Wayne, not because she felt more comfortable having him beside her” which seems an odd line to me almost like she is denying it to herself, She then lets him cut the dress up, and doesn’t have a problem with him staring at her, which as she notes is a first.

During the fight around the ship she specifically notes that Wayne had a crossbow bolt in his leg which is only odd in that she should be used to Wayne being very injured by now

Then right after asking if steroid loves wax and brushing off the question about her being in a relationship she goes to talk to Wayne

though the book does hunt at the idea of her and aliik it just seems weird for all these moments.

Granted I don’t particularly care how this all resolves and honestly I don’t think either need this but these are interesting little things

I doubt it. That seems mostly to be her surprise and concern for them boiling over into irritation, plus some element of her propriety (which she definitely seems to be attached to) adding to it.

This hits me as mostly because Wayne's bubbles, as noted in their conversation in a conversation they had in Alloy of Law, are much more bounded in size than her own bubbles. That, plus the grave itself likely wasn't large, so there wasn't much other room for her to occupy.

Also, this. This is not exactly accurate. She didn't blush, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have an issue with it, since she did tell him to stop staring, and warned him before letting him cut not to get "too frisky."

She definitely doesn't seem attached to Wayne in that way, at least in my reading.

Those are pretty fair assessments but it also reminded me a lot of the way some relationships have been built up in other Sanderson books and the way in mistborn era 2 the ones that work out are not ones that were expected

though this is mostly me spitballing because I’m bored

I also had this feeling, so your not alone. I would prefer Wayne and Melaan though.

Yeah I would too they are much more fun, but it strikes me that relationship like wax and marasi seems too easy

God I hope not. I don’t think they would work together well at all.

Plus, I did read a fic where she had a the for MeLaan and now she’s very much gay in my mind, which could also technically explain her annoyance on the train but I don’t think that’s what Sanderson meant
