After a couple hours of hiking, he watched the kippies behind them to see how they were doing. He wanted to be sure to put some distance from where the ironclads had found them. The darkness began to set in, revealing, to Cavalier's surprise, lights dotting the distance. Those hadn't been there on his way here, had they? "Bedtime yet?" he asked.

She hadn't even known a day could be that long! And it hadn't helped that Breeze had kept tugging at her ears. She couldn't blame the dragonet, she was just little, after all. But it had hurt. Breeze cuddled up to Pia and Pia looked down, amused. "So now you want to cuddle?" she whispered. "All right then." She smiled peacefully as she drifted off, Breeze cuddled close in their little self-made hollow.

Not that he was incapable of it, but the responsibility that he had gained in such a short time pressed down on him. Nothing had come good when he was in charge... Cavalier opened his eyes. Best not to dwell on those memories. He got up, stretched, and walked around. He turned his head to the sky, among the stars, and spotted the Falling Dragon constellation. Fitting that it would show this night. 3
