"Phaedrus can fly away. She's only still here because we can't fly and neither can her babies! So if we sneak past the ironclads with the babies, she can fly away or to us."

Ollie peeked out from over the rock, wincing at all the arrows stuck in her wings. "Are you sure about that?"

"Probably, if she doesn't take the arrows out yet. I don't really know how to bandage wings, but we can work it out."

"Her flying's really jerky and uneven..." Ollie whimpered. "I don't think she's okay..."

"Okay, so we all run? I bet Dave knows how to help her."

The catapult fired another shot. The boulder flew through the air, trailing smoke with a sickening scream of speed.

This time, it didn't miss. It smashed into the rock that the kippies hid behind, shatting it completely and tumbling down the mountain.

Twiget clasped onto her hind legs and tucked her head close to her chest, getting Pebble to follow suite. Then she gleefully rolled head-first down the mountain.

Breeze bumbled towards her, oblivious, then tripped and started falling down the mountainside.

Well, I mean... okay. Whatever.

Pia yelped and then threw herself down after Breeze. She got a hold on the little dragonet's ankle and pulled her closer.

"Aw, cutie!" Pia slowed down and stopped in the middle of the mountain. "You all right? That scared me."

Breeze began chewing on Pia's paw, apparently a little miffed that she had let her fall off a mountain that easily.

Pia shook her head. "Hey, not okay. Come on, we're going down the mountain. You need to sit on my back and hold on to my ears. You all right with that?"

Pia reached the bottom soon after. "Cavalier, stay." She set Breeze down and kept one eye on her.

Cavalier panted with exhaustion. "Where we going, then? Koid, Symm, someplace else?"

"Well, wherever we're going, we gotta go! I'm pretty sure there were ironclads down there, we're lucky we haven't ran into any."

"Shouldn't we wait for everyone else?"
