+Oltux72 he/him Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 We can assume that Rayse was raving or had a hidden god complex, using a royal "we". But that is boring. So who helped him? Cultivation - divorces do happen Mercy - my personal favorite The Ire (they may have the means to forge a godkiller weapon) A Dawnshard What do you think? Cultivation would be most fascinating, but I am afraid the evidence points at Mercy. That Shard was seen with the other suspect at at the site of a prior crime. 4
+Child of Hodor Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Rayse + Odium since Odium is trying to escape Rayse during RoW (the light that seems to be trying to escape his skin) and talks to Tarvangian after rayse dies asking Mr. T to take Odium and telling him he’s perfect. In an epigraph Sazed says the power develops a mind of its own if it’s not controlled well by the vessel which seems to be the case here. Rayse doesn’t acknowledge that he’s Odium he says “they call me Odium” while Mr. T tells Wit “I am Odium”. Could be a Dawnshard thing though. Passion isn’t a command, but Rayse insisting he’s Passion might be because he also held/was the emotion-related Dawnshard whatever that is called. 4

DracostarA Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 I do think Taravangian says that because he doesn't want to tell Wit. We're not sure about the rules of being a Shard but I think Taravangian considering himself Odium is far more likely for him to do than deny that he was Rayse or something. Personally though, I do think Odium's intent has changed somewhat to get closer to Passion but we'll have to wait till Book 5 for any confirmation on that.

Isn't killing a hated enemy the point Vessel and Shard should be closest in alignment about? And a second point. If Odium was alone and suffered a split personality, why did he win in a match of one against two?
