+Sorana she/her Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 Leila remained calm while Caeli's temper surged and then ebbed again, quietly admiring the passion behind her words and gestures. Passion was a beautiful thing. It was strong, so strong that it alone had the potential for another chapter to start. And yet, despite the beauty unfolding itself in front of her eyes she could feel the worry coming along with it. Their weaknesses. They had found their weaknesses and destroyed them and when they couldn't they had decided to hold them in captivity until they discovered their weak spot. It was a silent worry, but it was strong, a silent terror wrapping itself around her. If they had a way to find out, a way to catch them, then they all were in great danger. "I doubt that talking to them will really change something." She added her own opinion and made a vague gesture with her right hand. It rarely did over the course of humanity. And these, whoever did this, they sounded like fanatics. Whatever it was that they were looking for, power, control - to divert them from their path would be difficult. "But we can leave them a message, a warning, maybe a few words once we freed those belonging to us." Words were the pillar or everything, they were what shaped the world, what shaped the actions of those living upon it. She added another sentence to her current chapter, made sure she highlighted Caeli's wonderful outburst and the gentle way Sangus proposed. It would be important to remember. For all of them. "There is often folly in the things that..." She looked up when Balhaan spoke again, curious to hear what he wanted to add, but instead he dropped to the ground. Book vanishing Leila dropped to her knees next to him, reached out for his shoulder despite the spasms rocking his body. "Balhaan." She adressed him softly. "What is wrong, dear friend?" She spoke the words quietly, but they were strong and she felt their power vibrating in the air around them. Pain, agony. Her eyes glazed over when it raced through her for less than a heartbeat, only the fracture of a breath. He was a god, she had no power over him and his, unless he willed it. But for now the short impression was enough. "It will disappear." She annouced, wordlessly offering him her strength to take if he willed so. @Nathrangking

He said in explanation, "I locked that floor down for safety reasons. And I am the god of bats." Once they arrive and the door opens, they see a large room full of computer monitors, digital maps, and people in the same suits as the men on the bottom floor, except for sixteen assorted soldiers across the room, wearing full combat gear, holding assault rifles and, with pistols holstered at their sides. Barbados looked to the other god present and said, "Welcome to operations. The nerve center of our war." One of the soldiers walked up to Barbados and said, "Sir, there was an attack. On Installation C-1. It's... It's completely destroyed sir." Barbados looked at him shocked for a second and then said, "Was it the god complex?" "Yes sir." "I want every single God Complex soldier in Florida dead by the end of the week. Make them pay." @Coda @kenod @Kidpen "C-1?" mizuki muttered in a questioning tone. I mean, if they weren't capable of dealing with something like that they wouldn't be such an issue, right?"

Darth Woodrack he/him Posted February 28, 2020 Author Posted February 28, 2020 Quote Due to the 10 to 1 on the poll, I’d say we can make non godly third characters, so here’s mine. On account of all the other character being gods, I assume we can go crazy on gear and skills because they won’t help if they ever go in contact with a truly combative god. Spoiler Name: Codename: Godslayer Real Name: Unknown. Appearance: Unknown. Wears the Destroyer MK2 exoskeleton, known you increase height by aproximately 15%. He is, in armor, 8 feet tall. Equipment: Destroyer MK2 armor, which increased strength, speed, reflexes, and durability to that of a non combative god, powered by part of Chaos. Lightning Bolt MK13, a high powered carbine that uses experimental rapid fire rail gun technology, powered by part of Chaos’s essence, to launch particles the size of a large piece of sand at incredibly high velocities, strong enough to take out buildings. Thermal grenades, which explode in a wave of Napalm, lighting the surrounding area on fire. Abilities: Trained since he could walk to fight, shoot, hunt, and kill, the Godslayer hardly ever misses, has genius level intellect on hunting and strategy, with a psychological disability stopping him from feeling fear. He also is very good at guessing what brings people fear. Affiliation: God Complex Rank: Leads the Operations division that hunts down and kills gods, as well as one of the parts that is fighting Barbados. He is allegedly responsible for destroying Installation C-1, otherwise known as Tokyo Central Hospital.

kenod Posted February 28, 2020 Posted February 28, 2020 (edited) Mizuki smiled uncomfortably. "Um, alright..." She hesitantly said, while wondering what she had gotten herself into. Someone called Sunshine who was considered insane and depraved by the god of death. She had a feeling this was going to be a really interesting meeting, in the Chinese sense of the word. Quote So I'm not sure if this works for a God-Complex character, but in that case she'll just be a freelancer. Also, I'm not quite sure if this counts as one or two characters: Aiwass (god): Spoiler Name: Aiwass Appearance: Non-corporeal, generally manifests by possessing people or speaking into someone's mind. Can also use the Liber AL Vel Legis to communicate. Can temporarily manifest an actually human body with an appearance of their choosing, but this takes effort. Generally picks an appearance related to the person they're communicating with. Domains: Primary: Thelemic magic (basically large ritual magics using magic circles, can skip incantations and actually drawing diagrams for most spells. the Liber AL Vel Legis allows them to use all their spells without any preperation). Secondary: Divine Revelations (They have a sort of sixth sense for interesting situations, and can instantly recognize people who will be interesting, or who have a capability of deciphering their book), The Veil (can see through disguises to recognize the true form of beings, though not their weaknesses, as well as disguise themselves to prevent others from divining their nature, allowing them to appear human among other things) Manifestation of Power: A thin tome titled Liber AL Vel Legis (The Book of Law), which is filled with encoded diagrams, equations and text. Attempting to decode it will reveal some knowledge, but also reveal a new layer of encoding. People capable of decrypting will gain the ability to use some of Aiwass' sorcery depending on how deeply they can decipher it. Aiwass normally grants possession of this book to some chosen mortal to see what will happen, in which case it becomes bound to them, and they can summon it to them. Except for some extremely basic things the magic cannot be taught to others, since the process of decrypting it changes the mind in a way that allows the person in question to actually comprehend the knowledge. Weakness: The Liber AL Vel Legis contains all of their knowledge, and someone who fully masters all the knowledge in the book will essentially gain their powers, which allows them to fight Aiwass on equal footing, making them capable of killing them. Origin: Originally hails from another dimension, where their abilities and knowledge are common, they somehow ended up in this world, though nobody knows when. The first recorded instance of communication with them was by the occultist Aleister Crowley in 1904. Goals/Personality: Seeks out people they consider interesting, though nobody knows what criteria make them judge someone to be so, and grants them possession of the Liber AL Vel Legis. They don't care about humans or gods in general, and if someone ceases to interest them they'll take away the book, and often alter their minds to erase the knowledge on how to use their magic. Sometimes interferes in the world around their chosen person to put them in more interesting situations. People chosen often end up becoming (in)famous, but their lives generally don't end happily. Normally doesn't directly interfere with the world. Doesn't really care about humans in general. Quote: "Why should I care what happens to humans? If you lot all die out some other species will still come around in a few million years to amuse me, either here or on some different planet, so what's the issue? Besides, seeing how you people react to going extinct would be quite entertaining." Alice Mathers (human): Spoiler Name: Alice Mathers Age: 17 Gender: Female Appearance: 5'4'', British, with dark brown hair in a bob-cut, and green eyes. Wears a British school uniform. Abilities: Has decrypted a decent amount of the Liber AL Vel Legis, and while she isn't anywhere close to the power of an actual god she can still fight a defensive battle against a weaker god, though beating them wouldn't be possible. Still has a lot of utility spells though, which can make her quite versatile. Can use simpler spells without needing to physically draw out the diagrams, and can also use the Liber AL Vel Legis as an artefact to cast spells without needing lengthy incantations, or to help with drawing diagrams in the air. Equipment: Liber AL Vel Legis, satchel with a number of tools for carrying out rituals, like chalk. Personality: Generally composed, very intelligent. Dislikes Aiwass, and is often rather exasperated by their antics, which is one of the easiest ways to get her to lose her composure (Aiwass often calls her a tsundere, mostly to piss her off). Often tends to fall into a straight-man role when it comes to their interactions. Affiliation: God-Complex, freelance mercenary. Backstory: Came across the Liber AL Vel Legis at the age of 12, and when she managed to start deciphering it Aiwass contacted her, and started pushing her towards the God-Complex, as well as getting her more involved with the hidden part of the world in general, mostly by getting her involved in all sorts of incidents. Unbeknownst to her one of her ancestors was Samuel Liddell Mathers, a one-time friend and later enemy of Aleister Crowley. Quote: "Can you please stop possessing people when you want to talk to me and just manifest a body instead, you entertainment-starved fool? Punching a stranger when I need to punish you makes me feel guilty." Edited February 28, 2020 by kenod

kenod Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Quote Mostly because it interests them. And to them, a mortal managing to decipher their entire book and kill them would be incredibly interesting and entertaining. Also, they don't care about other gods, and because they're incorporeal and capable of hiding their status as a god the God-Complex wouldn't be too dangerous for them.
old man moomba he/him Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Quote Here we are. Spoiler Name: Ashley Remorares Appearance: A young girl, with pale skin and light blue eyes. Her delicate features are somewhat ruined by a number of scars on her face. She keeps her dirty blond hair cut short, framing her face. She's lean, with more scars than someone her supposed age should have. Personality: Ashley wouldn’t call herself a zealot, though she finds faith in many gods. In her mind, all gods are equal, and all deserve to be worshiped. Due to this, the magic that she uses is extremely varied and powerful. Ashley is one of Sangus’s few mortal friends, likely due to her extremely long life. Sangus was the one who advised her in her original quest for immortality. Ashley is smart, having a knack for finding the loopholes in just about anything. Equipment: A SPAS-12 shotgun. The rounds fired from it have a corruptive power: anything hit by a pellet will begin to corrode, the speed of corrosion depending on how many pellets hit the target. A crystal broadsword, similar in make to Luna’s scimitar, though it’s not divine. It works as a focus for Ashley’s magic, allowing her to perform much more complex spells than she could otherwise. Both her sword and shotgun are bound to her soul, and appear with her when she’s resurrected. Abilities: Military training, as she’s served in several military groups over her lifetime. She’s also been cursed by a death deity (she doesn’t remember which, though she suspects Hel) to never die. Whenever she suffers an injury that would kill her, her soul resurrected with a new body somewhere else, usually far from where she was killed. When she awakens in a new body, she has no memories of her past. (though she does know how to do magic) Eventually, she will remember her past, though it takes anywhere from a month to a few years. Affiliation: No one in particular. She’s a mercenary, somewhat well known in both military and religious circles.
+Sorana she/her Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 (edited) "Don't worry about being brought down by pain." Leila replied quietly and remained by his side when he sat up, looked around. Sitting back she crossed her legs in front of her on the ground and looked around the place Luna had brought them before turning her attention back to him. "Not if it's a pain like this." Her skin still crawled in memory - to experience this for longer than the blink of an eye- another danger, apart from those hunting them. The energy itself was enough to hurt them given the right circumstances. Her eyes rested on her book for a moment and she wondered what would become of her, if she ended up one of the victims. Would her remains hurt, echo the same way? The thought was unnerving, even more so that nobody would continue with their chronic if she vanished. Not until another took her place and to train a new god wit hthis danger looming ahead of them - better they all stayed alive. Her eyes returned to the cave-like structure, around them. "Fascinating." She whispered and found herself smiling. What a beautiful twist. Teleported away from the field of pain to regroup and form a plan. Plan how to stop, how to possibly kill humans. Uneasy she opened her book again and reread the last sentences, the last pages. She didn't really dislike humans, they were so short lived and their creations were fascinating. Usually she tried to help them along, to inspire those trying hard and to collect and preserve their creations. But in the end - what happened was awful, terrifying and if they acted slow, merciful, they would all die sooner or later. It wasn't like they had a choice and she didn't value their creations enough to change her mind. They had to act. Quickly and strong. The moment you showed weakness you were as good as dead. She lifted a hand and a scroll unfolded itself in the air behind her. Letters appeared on it, when she had it show her thoughts. Find those held captive Ensure this never happens again She didn't say anything, instead she looked over at Caeli, waited for her to speak. If Balhaan though it important it was, and while time was important, especially considering those in captivity, they had to take the time to collect themselves and form a good plan. And so she could wait until Caeli had spoken, and then maybe then would be a good moment to start planning. They would help nobody if they rushed into a trap and got themselves imprisoned as well. @ZincAboutIt @Nathrangking @Dr. Dapper Edited February 29, 2020 by Sorana
little wheel he/him Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Tut'Kor'Anuumo watched the bestial god cry out in anguish. He considered reaching out to Baalhan, but emotions weren't his strong suit.
Nathrangking he/him Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 Quote I know. I created him to be a counter to your Godslayer. Alexander feels in his element as he slinks through the night. The darkness of the moonless night welcomes him to the home that he never knew. Around him his adopted family travels across the land that most of his actual family fled thousands of years ago. He pauses his progress and holds a fist up. Around him silent figures pause in their tracks. Something was off. He could not tell exactly what, but the tutelage of Baalhan and his own instinct had never failed him before. His lips move in a brief yet silent prayer to his friend, mentor, and family guardian. The language that he speaks has not been spoken since the height of Mesopotamian power. "My friend, bless me and guard me and mine." Suddenly, the air is split by the sound of tracer rounds flying through the air. He dashes across the sand with an almost superhuman quickness. Ahead he sees what looks like a machine gun emplacement.
