Ulix formed, sitting down across from them. He bore the shape of a young man with a long scar along his face. Below the face, the clothes were shifting mist. He proceeded to say, "Quite simple actually, he could only be killed by disease. They began the fight by releasing a highly deadly bioagent into the air, which he then inhaled. He dropped dead, and they took the body in for study. Do note that I am only telling you this because my mere existence has already brought the complex knowledge, despite their lack of knowledge of me. Feel free to ask any more questions of me you may have, but recognize that anything I tell you, I will have to share in equal fold with Barbados and the complex. I simply hope that by sharing key information, I can stop any more innocent blood from being spilled."

Luna was beside the new god suddenly. A crystalline simitar appeared in her hand, barely an inch from his neck. As soon as she realized he was a god, she dropped her hand down, but kept her sword in hand.

"I know you." Sangus said with a smile in his voice. "You're the creation god with the name I can't remember." He gestured to Caeli, "It's hard to keep track, sometimes. Do you know his name?"

"Names are unimportant. I don't like them, personally. In an ideal world, everyone would just know who was talking to whom, and talking would all go across much faster. Or better yet, non-verbal communication could be unnecessary at some point. Regardless, I am... Tut'Kor'Anuumo. Sometimes I forget. And you are?"

I think you are confused as to what I mean. I am asking that all new character sheets be posted in brand new posts instead of editing them into posts that you already made.

"There is no such thing as an ideal world. Anything that can think will push against a perfect world. Perhaps the most ideal plane of reality would be one with no thinking being upon it to muck things up. I'm Sangus, god of wisdom, among other things."

"An ideal world would be one where everyone is free to live their own lives without the worry that some being beyond their power will destroy their lives. Such is the fact that we gods are a perversion of that, and quite simply, if gods were not necessary for the survival of the planet, they should not exist."

I quickly glide down to the ground in front of the red haired god who is standing alone.

"Hello Leila. Its been too long."

"Balhaan." Leila smiled at him, glad to see her long-time aquaintance. For a moment she was silent, extended her senses a little. The air was tense, as if shivvering around Balhaan, around this place. She knew that something was coming, or maybe was happening at this very moment. Or maybe nothing worth of writing down would happen. You never knew until you were there, until you saw. Figuratively spoken, it wasn't like she could be everywhere. Or at least not in person. "It's been a while." She looked him over fondly, her smile widening at the memory of how many stories he had helped to create. And here he was again, on time to a meeting. The air tasted like possible history and that alone was reason enough for her to be here.

"Did I miss anything vital?" She asked, her voice and face serious while she opened her book and closed her fingers around her quill. Word were covering the pages, more and more appearing the second, without her doing anything. It was one thing she liked about this age. Nearly everybody good read and write and the moment something was written, it belonged to her. "And please, feel free to update me on your way." Excitement leaked into her voice at the thought of a new chapter, or a new tale to be strung and told by the fire late at night. "I don't want my tardiness to keep you."

Internally I groaned as much as is dignified for an ancient god. In the millennia that I knew Leila it was her tales alone that mattered I hope that this will not lead to her end. She is one of the few beside myself who remain who remember the earliest and darkest of humanities days. She is in many ways a sister to see her destroyed would bring true darkness to this world.

"Leila a war unlike any that has taken place in millennia is on our doorstep. An organization of mortals is hunting our kind. They have killed the she wolf of rome, Chaos, and Ares. They have also captured 5 pf us including Rah and Apophis. There are gods who seek to create a Pantheon to wreak vengeance on the mortals. Some including myself, Sangus, and Caeli wish to learn more and prepare for the war to come without being rash. I am going now to the place where my younger cousin Ares met his end. If you wish to join us in our search for knowledge. Command this arrow to take you to me  and it will do so."

I pull an enchanted arrow from my quiver and drop it into the air where it floats on its own. I start to glow and a figure that looks exactly like me appears.

"This avatar will keep you from harm until you reach somewhere safe. Follow if you wish or if not simply keep safe old friend."

I suddenly lift off and in a moment I am back in the jet stream. The bitter cold brings back memories older than mortal memory. Clashing weapons and terrified screams combine with the sounds of the mortal's modern methods of war. They surround me now as they always have. I am attune to all warfare much in the way that other gods attune to their domains. I feel it all. Every battle past and present flows through me and I remember them all. Suddenly, I pause my flight.

I can't help but remember that even among gods I am something of an anomaly. Unlike most gods even the eldest among us I am attuned not simply to the physical or divine realms. Mine is a connection in both for War is a concept in both planes of existence the implications of my nature may tip the scales of that which will come.

My reverie is broken by a cry whose voice I have not heard in centuries. Before me are the horrific wounds which tear deep into the heart of the divine realm. The death of a god takes a jagged knife to the fabric of creation. When a deity is killed the portion of the divine realm that they kept in check is split open and all manner of terrible force is let loose. Nothing, but the rise of a new god can seal the open geyser, but even that sometimes does not take. Violence spills from the unmistakable wound which could only have been caused by the death of Ares. Tears form in my eyes as the last remnants of his essence which had clearly waited for me cry out in accusation one final time and then go silent. I cry out for a moment before filling myself with steel. I race down toward the earth below. Ahead I see Sangus, his companion, and Caelia standing by a seated young man and a boy whose face seems familiar though at first I cannot place it. With my gauntlet covered hand I wipe away my tears. I land next to them.

I turn to Sangus. "Who are these? What have you managed to discern thus far?"

A war unlike any that has taken place in millenia. Leila hurriedly flipped her book to a new page, let history write itself for a moment and started to write notes. Her smile vanished when she took in his words, knew that unlike the younger gods, when he said millenia, he was refering to the same amount of years as she did. She watched him take off, somehow relieved that somethings hadn't changed, that he still had his energy, his drive to do something. He was a force she could count on, one of the few who had watched civilizations rise and fall with. Mortals hunting gods, a new pantheon, these news alone were worth a tale, a new chapter. A dangerous story whose first pages weren't even completed. Of course she would go. She had to. There was no way, to leave him alone.

She reached out for the arrow, grateful for a quick way to follow him. Her own paths were longer, twisted and rarely tended to lead her to a single, defined location. The arrow changed in her hand when she send a little bit of power inside and the familiar turmoil of war wrapped itself around her. Blood heated by battle, bodies shaking in fear and terror, the incredible sense of triumph - Leila shot through the air, tightly holding on to her book. Balhaan. She had missed him, geniously missed him.

When she approached their location, she could still feel the terror, taste the deed that had left it's trace here. Silently she stepped up, already writing before her feet had touched the ground. There was enough left for her to grasp the strongest impressions, the injuries, the confidence that turned into fear and panic. The way his power and leashed out and then, finally, his end. Only when she had finished writing did she look up into the faces of the others that had gathered here.

"I greet you." She said quietly and dipped her quill into a little bottle of ink that floated up at a silent comand of hers. "For those that don't know me. For now you can refer to me as Leila. I am an old friend of Balhaan's."

Caeli nodded to Baalhan and Leila, noting that the latter already had that book of hers open. Many gods enjoyed the idea that their histories would be chronicled; Caeli had never cared for such things. The air and the winds did not need to be documented. Still, the more of them that could understand what had happened here, the better.

"Philosopher gods..." She sighed, calling a slight breeze and allowing it to raise her a few inches off the ground so that the tips of her toes brushed the long grass. Caeli cast a sidelong glance at Ullix, narrowing her eyes at his words. "I flew with the turning of this earth long before anything crawled its way out of the ocean to develop something as quaint as 'free will.' These mortals have begun knocking down their own house, and I doubt they understand how quickly their lives will fall apart if they destroy enough of the foundation. What use is the 'ideal' when reality is starting to fragment like ash in the wind?"

Caeli dispersed into wind, racing down the field and circling the epicenter of perversion that lay there. She felt it in the core of her being, and moved outward again, back towards the others.

"They knew his weakness," she said, returning to her physical form. "And that of Chaos, and the She-wolf. But the others..." Her voice trailed off, and the wind blew colder than before, harder. "They do not know their weaknesses yet, do they? These mortals mean to test them like beasts until they find the perfect knife for the job. That is why they have captured them."

Caeli thought of Zephyr, always the gentlest of the four brothers, shackled to the wall in some cell of glass and steel. The West Wind himself, bound and caged, prodded like a mouse by creatures who were barely above animals themselves. It was an abomination, a perversion so great that she could barely wrap her mind around the thought of it. With the flick of her wrist, a gale-force stream of air tore a nearby olive tree out of the ground and flung it across the field where it shattered against an outcropping of stone a hundred meters away. She turned back to the assembled gods.

"I will not suffer this," she hissed, and her voice was winter, her eyes the merciless blue-white of glacial ice.

The frigid waves of power that pour off of Caeli grab at the very essence of my being. As I mentally recall my avatar and arrow the slightest of memories long since buried surfaces. When first I met Caeli humanity were not even primitive insects surging over the surface of the earth. Few times have I ever witnessed the kind of rage that is now breaking loose. I turn my eyes on her and I do not even flinch.

"None of us will suffer this Caeli that I assure you. We the Eldritch Gods shall show them fear!! We will teach them what it means to stir the rage of elder gods!! They will know our vengeance in full!! Ares screams for an avenger!! I have heard his screams. I swear this that he and every other god will be avenged! I will destroy those who killed my adopted daughter the she wolf, my lord chaos, and my cousin Ares. I will free those who have been captured and release nightmares beyond comprehension upon them!! We must be wise and show patience. We will end them, but we must not rush in without a plan.I sense every detail of this battle. It was an ambush. They were careful these mortals! Dozens waited with the knowledge of Ares' comings and goings we must learn what we can."

Sangus looked on expressionlessly. He felt little sadness at the death of the gods, and less anger. No, he was almost overcome with a deep sense of dread. These mortals were slaying gods for no discernable reason. Unchecked, they would tear this world apart without realizing. Every living thing would cease to exist. Their world wasn’t the perfect ideal, but it didn’t deserve to be destroyed.

“These slayers of gods must be stopped, and if that means killing every one of them, then so be it. But we must not kill them simply because they have killed our brethren. They must have some motive for doing it, and likely they are misguided in some way. We must at least try to convince them that they are wrong. That, and free the gods they have captured.”

The wind died down as Caeli felt her towering temper ebb into something closer to tension. Her hair settled back around her shoulders, and she let her feet touch down on the grass once more as she listed to Sangus speak.

"When are they not misguided?" She said acidly. "Their lives are too short for them to conceive of anything beyond a few generations into the future. I shouldn't be surprised that they are only too eager to destroy this world in the name of their own mortal free will."

Caeli turned to Sangus; she'd always preferred this older form to his childlike aspect. "No one would try to stand in your way, Sangus, but you must know that these mortals will not listen to you. If you let them, they will destroy you, as well. When has a mortal creature ever listened to the counsel of gods? They view themselves as gods in their own right, especially if they are in possession of a collective delusion such as 'liberty' or 'independence.'"

Barbados decided that the dragon can wait outside, if he truly desires. He presses the button directly beneath the floor they needed to go to. He said in explanation, "I locked that floor down for safety reasons. And I am the god of bats."

Once they arrive and the door opens, they see a large room full of computer monitors, digital maps, and people in the same suits as the men on the bottom floor, except for sixteen assorted soldiers across the room, wearing full combat gear, holding assault rifles and, with pistols holstered at their sides. Barbados looked to the other god present and said, "Welcome to operations. The nerve center of our war."

One of the soldiers walked up to Barbados and said, "Sir, there was an attack. On Installation C-1. It's... It's completely destroyed sir."

Barbados looked at him shocked for a second and then said, "Was it the god complex?"

"Yes sir."

"I want every single God Complex soldier in Florida dead by the end of the week. Make them pay."

I move to face Caeli and Sangus as a dread fills me. I feel a vast slaughter whose very essence is tied to the death that took place here. Every celestial cell in my body is alight. The destruction and its repercussions fill me. I do not know what was destroyed, though with a thought I could go to the site of the carnage.

The whole of my being is a mixture of fear the likes of which is impossible to deny. There are few things that I have ever feared the way that I fear what is unfolding. The evil which is slipping into this world is only part of it. Gods rarely reveal that which can harm them. That his complex has found a way to kill three gods is more than worrisome. Somehow they learned the weaknesses of our fellow divinities and used them to great effect. They then trapped five gods in a way that must in some way neutralize their powers.

The repercussions of that which has just been done physically shakes me. The slaughter and war which has just been set in motion will feed into itself. The cycle grows and grows until nothing remains. Agony arcs through me. I have never felt something like this before in the whole of my existence.

"There is often folly in the things that..." Suddenly, I fall to my knees. Spasms take me as I drop to the ground.
