That's adorable.

Tamika was done with waiting. She reached out with her mind, finding Tom. I need you right now, she thought to him. Please. She considered adding more, but decided against it. The words in her mind were angry, yet she felt nothing but sorrow and self-pity in her heart. She knew which emotions to listen to.

"Thought" was a misnomer. She wasn't just telepathy and imagination. She was emotion. She understood how people worked, what they felt and why. Truly, a person's thoughts were just reflections of what they felt. This knowledge allowed her to understand herself. Unfortunately, it didn't do much to help her self-loathing. She'd hated herself since her very first life. She hated her own beauty - it was dangerous for a child of the streets to be so desirable - she hated each and every one of her weaknesses and faults, and she hated her strengths too. The only time she hadn't been crawling in her own skin was when she was a Shard. And that was the worst time of her entire existence. She had done things... unspeakable things. Horrid, ugly things. And she hadn't cared. She had been too proud to care. Now, however, she was back in her mortal body and she knew everything that she had forgotten as a Shard. Everything that made her cringe at her own reflection.

Tom didn't see how she felt, of course. She'd always been good at hiding it away. Once, very long ago, he had taught himself how to see it in her. And he had held her from the moment he noticed until the sun set upon her fears. She remembered those days. When everything was peaceful. When they didn't know about things like Keys and they didn't care about silly concepts like immortality. Who wanted to live forever anyway? Tom had. And... she had too. But she was younger then. If she knew then what she knew now... Things would be very different. Certainly, she wouldn't be kneeling on the wooden floor of a flying ship, sobbing over a broken mirror and the pieces of a memory.

Time was re-written.

"That still doesn't explain why you love me," Star said.

"Oh, Star..." Pheonix shook his head. "You heal a girl whose soul is shattered, you craft worlds with your words, and you ask me why I love you?" He took her hands in his, emotion shining from his eyes.

“Yeah, that one.” God told her. “Yes.”

"It works for objects," said Tom, looking at her curiously. "but not for people. Most, anyways."

Tamika looked up, relief washing though her at that sound. She got up, wiping her eyes and opened the door, her heart beating quickly.

“What type of people would be able to travel to the other Reality?” That’s funny, Shadow thought. God didn’t tell me what to- Her thoughts were interrupted. I don’t need to anymore. You are MINE. BoS was then banished out of her own Mind, and no matter how hard she pounded, It wouldn’t let her back in. She could still think, but she had no control. Help… She whispered. But her lips did not move, for Shadow was alone, trapped, and could do absolutely nothing to fight back Ruin itself.

WHOOOOOOO, 5,000 posts! For this occasion, Ember has written a poem. Sorry it's kinda short.

Master told me
To write a poem
But she didn’t say
If it should rhyme

In all honesty
I’ve never written
Poetry before
But I do what I’m told

It might be good for me
To use words
In a more
Artistic way

Not that this is art
It’s just words
In a pattern
With a sort of rhythm

"People without a counterpart," Tom explained. "So... practically nobody."

You are my prison of words
My captor and master
An expert of death
Of agony and sweet bliss

Giver of light and
Bringer of shadows
Taker of joy
And maker of plot

Fate's chosen
The stars' lover
Builder, writer, thinker
And cruel, cruel ruler

Time keeps me held
Within your grip
Hanging on every word
Thirsty for more

Without your sustenance
I should surely die
Yet here I lay
Chained to your command

Thought's breath
Ashen embers
Sparkling like stars
On an astral plane

These things don't help me
Don't free me
Don't save me
They keep me trapped

Drowning in your words
Waiting on your say
Burning under the light
Of the blue Phoenix

"It... wouldn't matter," said Tom. "Why do you ask?"

Star met Pheonix's eyes. "I don't... deserve... to love anyone like this again, because… Because it’s what I want most. I’m done with plot. I’m tired. I wanna stop. And now… I finally have a reason to. But what happens to them when I stop?" She gestured to Shadow.

Thank you!

@xinoehp512

Tamika stared up at Tom for a moment. She swallowed and the beating of her heart slowed again. And then, closing her eyes, she hugged him. It was the hug of someone who knew that who they were embracing could heal them with their very presence. The hug of someone whose home was that embrace. There were things to be said, but right now, she just wanted some familiarity. The fact was, she hadn't been on the ship very long. And she had only been herself for a very short time. But the one constant, the one bridge between her worlds, was this man. She knew his warmth, his smell, his small mannerisms; she had memorized it all. It was why, despite AJ's death, and her jarring launch into a completely new reality, she had kept her sanity.

Tom held her in his embrace, just a hair away from tears.

"I'm so sorry," he murmured. "So sorry..."

What would the effects be if someone where to cross over?

Tom frowned. "There shouldn't be any effects... it's just the getting across, that's the problem."
