Alright, let's see what happened while I was out.

2. Mind bending reveals
3. All my plans getting upended

So yeah, about the usual. (Except for that fight with Dapper.  Sorry Dapper...)

Meanwhile, let's decide what my characters think about what just happened...

Above Shadow/Heather, a flickering Shadow appeared for a moment, malevolent and dark.

Tom opened his mouth, furrowed his brow, then closed it again.

Tom took a step back in astonishment. "A withergeist? What? How...?"

Xino gasped as an echo of the truth rippled across his long-forgotten senses. "A character? Not a Narrator? But..."

Tom  began to pace, muttering to himself. "Tamika... Star... the Shard of Thought? No... Wait! And Butt, of course... One is an accident. Two is a coincidence. But three..." he turned, a gleam in his eye. "Three is a pattern."

He pointed to each in turn, a flickering hologram of Butt appearing when he said his name.

"Earlier, when you merged with Thought, you thought she was taking you over. But she was you before, wasn't she? And Shadow was... whatever her name, this new character's name is."

He began to pace again. "Just a coincidence, perhaps. Only- not. Because then we have him."

He pointed to Butt again.

"He is Butt Venture the character, just like you two were your own characters. And that makes me wonder- what if it's not just you three? What if every Narrator is just some sort of ascended character?

"Before, I thought we had no hope for poor Butt. But now... now, I think we do."

He's basically saying that all Narrators were once characters. Star was Thought, Shadow was Heather, Butt was.... well, Butt. And something about that makes it possible for Butt to return.

"But there's a problem with that," Star realized. "I was never Thought - Thought was Tamika. And Tamika is right there." Star pointed to her. "A completely separate entity."

This is going to come across as extremely rude, but I am not trying to insult you. I feel if you were here for the plot it wouldn’t veer off course like you don’t want it too. Just a suggestion, and I am sorry for being selfish and rude. 

On a second note dealing with BoS the narcissist, I find it kind of weird that you just left Heather on the deck of the boat…and maybe, possibly, you can help bandage or move her below deck to the bed she was sleeping in previously…? Just a suggestion relating to something not important.

Tom shot a look over at the other Tom. He was bending over what had been Shadow and muttering something.

Tom stood up. "I think I got it," he said, holding up a small crystal with a pulsating ball of darkness inside of it. "I haven't had to do that in a long, long time."

He sighed, pocketing the crystal and pulling out a vial of red serum. "Now let's see if this does any good." He uncorked it, kneeling down to give it to her.
