TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 If all goes according to plan I'll be watching Frozen tonight. I've never seen it before, and it will hold me over until the next episode of Doctor Who becomes available on Amazon. Also, I feel like I'm probably the only person in this thread who hasn't seen it. To quote Honest Trailers: For the first time in forever Disney let us sing…. For the first time in forever…. It's as good as Lion King. And it is. It really, really is. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 To quote Honest Trailers: And it is. It really, really is. I've heard nothing but overwhelming praise for it--granted, I've heard overwhelming praise for a lot of other things I hated, but I'm looking forward to it nonetheless. And the worst case scenario is that I hate it and brutally kill the Frozen-inspired Epic in Oregon as retribution. 1

And the worst case scenario is that I hate it and brutally kill the Frozen-inspired Epic in Oregon as retribution. I for one adored it. I actually cried at one point—not because it was awful, but because when you strip away the music and the fancy animation, it's just a good story with fun characters and one heck of a resolution. There you go! Revenge by proxy. 1

There you go! Revenge by proxy. That's comforting to hear. Music and fancy animation is all well and good, but without a strong narrative spine, I'll meet the film with a very cold reception. Also, you know a movie's gotta be good if they start using it to sell duck tape. 1

Agreed. The animation isn't the only thing that's beautiful. Not quite my thing, but if they make Olaf tape, I'm in! 1
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 At my Cross country meet today, "Let It Go" came on the Radio, and all 60 Guys on my Team started singing along while the girls looked on in embarrasment. 4

Left he/him Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 I honestly liked tangled more. Frozen was good, but there was too much exposition and stuff I felt. Now Oaloff turned out to be waaaaaaaay better than I thought he would be just from the trailer, but he still doesn't match up to the various brigands and Flynn.

I felt like Tangled 'dragged on' a little and I quite like a little more fast paced. I really liked 'when will my life begin' from Tangled though.
Delightful Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Honestly, I love them both, but Frozen was just somehow even more awesome. Probably because both protagonists are female, and neither are standard athletic action heroes, so I could relate to them more than usual. (I'm all for action heroes, but its nice to get the more feminine (and far less common) characters like Elsa, Ana, and Shallan, Jasnah etc.). Anyway, enjoy!
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 It's all about Lion King.Personally, I didn't like Lion King. The songs are great but i prefer frozen over it. 1

Jo and the Bush all/any Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Ooh, Schism in the Courts! 4
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 But before you saw Frozen, you liked the Lion King right? Sort of. I thought it was cute though.
Queen Elsa Steelheart she/her Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Aren't we always exciting here?*pulls out a enormous bag of popcorn and hands it to Kobold King*
Kobold King he/him Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Silence fills the court as the two princesses take steps away from one another. A rift has grown up between them--a rift that chocolate and singing snowmen might not be strong enough to mend. It becomes clear where the Newcago Court made its fatal mistake. For rather than trusting universal concepts like food or chaos or sad fanfiction, Newcago placed its faith in its royalty. The concepts of chaos or tolerance will stand forever, but the friendship of two royals can never stand. All it takes is one tiny schism... Kobold King let the thought trail off in his abnormally large head, stroking the head of a fluffy kitten laying in his arms. The silence felt uncomfortable, but the anticipation of watching the Newcago Court descend into a flurry of chaos exhilarated him. Biting off one end of his yak jerky and giving the other half to the kitten, he chuckled as the fate of the court was decided between the two sisters. 2
Delightful Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Why, dear Kobold King, sisters can have disagreements! Otherwise we may as well be clones, spiked brainless beings following the whims of outside rulers and that would not do at all! No indeed, it is our movie preferences that allow a great diversity to this court, and makes all feel welcome to join our mutual craziness. Go, take your yak meat and your popcorn, explore our grand Newcago Court, and you will see that moviegoers of all kinds are welcome here! 4

Would you also like a Newcagoan Donut to go with that yak meat and popcorn?
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Otherwise we may as well be clones, spiked brainless beings following the whims of outside rulers and that would not do at all! But I like those... Also, if there's Civil War the contract is in no way voided. Even though I'm siding with the Lion King Faction.

I know some people here who would like that, one might have an alliterative name.
