Wyndlerunner he/him Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 James got up from his bed, turning off the music as he went to the door. He saw Cassie standing there. "Oh, hey Cass" He said, nonchalantly, "To what do I owe this pleasure?" @AonEne
AonEne he/him Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Quote Sorry, Dapper. She has very low self-esteem. "Hi, James," Cassie answered, shifting from foot to foot. "About what you mentioned earlier...the boon the Nightwatcher gave you? Do you think she'd be willing to give one to me?" @Wyndlerunner Edited September 1, 2019 by AonEne @...AGAIN
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Quote that was unexpectedly poetic. where was this when i was writing an essay yesterday? Leona is on her second oath, and may or may not be about to swear her third. Leona walked upstairs to her room and fell face-first onto her bed, ignoring the stab of pain from her still-healing side. Why had this ended so badly? It just wasn't fair. If she was normal, would any of this have happened? probably not said Onyx, as if reading her thoughts, but that's what happens when you are chosen to save humanity. think about all the good you have done, the lives you have saved. "But why choose me?" Leona asked. "I'm probably as far as you can get from an elsecaller." sometimes I wonder. Leona half-heartedly slapped the air where Onyx was. but it was not because of your character then, your looks, your abilities. it was for your potential. you can do great things if you let go of the chains you have put on yourself and realize your mistakes do not define you. you must realize that hope does not lie in the past, but the future. "Oh, you're a poet now?" she said, sitting up and leaning against the wall. learn to let go, leona. stop wallowing in what could have been and focus on what could be. on the future. "I..." The words were on the tip of her tongue. So close, but so far. The room brightened and she realized she was glowing. get on with it already. "I will not let my past mistakes define me, but learn from them so that I will not make them again." There was a flash, and then a large piece of cake fell to the dresser. seriously? 3

That cake better be in the shape of an Elsecaller glyph Also, you have released the Grammarly demons! Edited September 1, 2019 by Lunamor

AonEne he/him Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Quote Ahhhh kill the demons Yay, new Ideal! Haha oaths. Cassie's about to be in a strange position regarding oaths. Edit: I always imagine the glyphs are in really old books or historical stuff @BookishOcelot Edited September 1, 2019 by AonEne
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Quote Hmm. Maybe in icing then? I feel like by oath 5 Leona is going to be on cake boss. Or transcended and become the eleventh herald- of the CakeCasters. @AonEne Edited September 1, 2019 by BookishOcelot

AonEne he/him Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Quote I mean, we do still have Stormlight and the Stormfather. It's not too crazy that we'd use that curse. (Though the point still stands)

Eluvianii he/him Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Quote On that topic, I was just wondering. Those of us in orders we know little about, should we just make up the ideals? One of the reasons I made my character first ideal was because we know next to nothing about Willshapers.
AonEne he/him Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 Quote Same as you That's what I've generally seen in RPs, just make it feel plausible for the order and the character. Oaths are supposed to be a bit malleable anyway - it's the spirit that matters, not the exact words, so we're probably fine.

I think it'd be a bit weird for me to write Nightwatcher revealing herself to you, because she's already visible to James.
AonEne he/him Posted September 2, 2019 Author Posted September 2, 2019 (edited) Quote Okay. Does she look the same as in OB? @Wyndlerunner Edited September 2, 2019 by AonEne
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Quote We don't know the elsecaller ideals at all, but Leona just swore her third. So long as it has something to do wiht one of the divine attributes of your order, you should be fine. Nobody will judge you if you get them wrong when book four is released. It's an RP- we've already annihilated canon.

old man moomba he/him Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Doc flipped through a faded notebook filled with impossible designs. He had drawn them back in high school. It seemed like such a long time ago, now. His head had been filled with dreams. Dreams for a better world, one with far less conflict. Scattered among the designs were scrawlings outlining a 'better' system of rule. Annotating the faded pencil drawings were small blocks of text explaining exactly why each design wouldn't work. Those were fresher, less faded, but the color and medium used to write them varied wildly. Doc had written them while homeless, using whatever he could find. Pens, pencils, markers, and even crayons. "I'm convinced that doing this, proving my past self wrong, kept me in a sane state of mind. The work, it kept some of that hopelessness away. Until I met you, of course." Yes, I remember. You thought me a figment of your imagination. "Yes. You argued with me for days about that." Doc smiled, remembering those few... weeks? months? before he'd sworn the First Ideal. "We had to bumble through it. I had no clue what I supposed to do, and you couldn't tell me. You got quite agitated." Well, you were being unreasonable. the Stormfather rumbled, stubborn as ever. "Well, now I feel like I'm in the dark. I barely know what our enemy is capable of, and my Knights have enough problems on their own, without evil death creatures trying to wipe them out. I can't protect them forever, you know." James. You don't need to protect them. You must trust that they can protect themselves. You're no Windrunner. You must guide them to the right path, and trust that they can face the dangers. "I'm not sure I can do that." I belive that you can. And I think you do as well. Doc had been absently flipping through the notebook during the conversation. He paused on a drawing of a suit of gleaming power armor, fingers resting on the old paper. "Very well." He breathed out, searching for the Words. They came to him easily, and he spoke them. "I will guide others to the best path, and trust they can face the dangers along it." The many gemstones in his workshop suddenly exploded with Light, pulled from another Realm. Doc breathed in, and it flowed into him. "Now for the real test." he muttered, "Can I summon Plate." Probably. Doc reached out to the Sormfather and pulled something through their bond. He exhaled, releasing the something. Light flashed around his body, and, plate by plate, slate gray armor burned into existence. He mentally commanded the helm to disappear, and it poofed away. Then his chair collapsed under him. "Storm it. This'll take some getting used to." Doc grumbled. 3
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Quote Doc breaking the chair in plate made me laugh. Also, happy fourth oath! No cake, which is disappointing, but I'm sure Leona would share. On a side note, would the others notice a change?
old man moomba he/him Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Quote Maybe gemstones getting overcharged.
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Quote I meant from any given Radiant swearing an oath.
old man moomba he/him Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Quote Maybe? I dunno. Like, your spren might say, 'Now you can summon me as a Shardblade!' or something.
+Sorana she/her Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Shana woke a few hours later. Well, a few was a bit too much. It felt like two, maybe three. Restless she threw herself around in her bed for while, then she gave up and got to her feet. Dressing in her yoga cloths she grabbed her mat and wandered outside. There was light in James room, probably someone had taken him up on his offer to talk. She tried to walk quietly, didn't want anybody to be disturbed by her wandering through the house. When the stairs creaked loudly, she grimaced and gave up on it. Subtlety wasn't one of her strengths. The air outside was cool and crisp and she paused when she the place where and Rob had trained the last time. Where they had fought. Where they had almost killed each other. She hadn't adressed it again, after the nightmare and she knew that she'd woken something in him, a fear, and who knew what else. She still felt guilty, knew that she would feel like that for the rest of her life. Some mistakes you could repair, and some you couldn't. She'd repaid kindness with fear. It happened. And dwelling on it, would only make things worse. They would train again tomorrow - a second chance for her to behave in a different way. She walked past the post and placed her mat on the ground, stretching quickly, then stepping on it. Closing her eyes she only stood there, concentrated on her breathing, then she took two deliberated breaths and stepped to the beginning of her mat. Lifting her arms above her head she inhaled,, looked upwards, then with an exhale bent downwards, her hands touching the ground. The movements were easy, but she concentrated on nothing apart from them, focused on her breathing, on executing them as perfect as possible. The sky was still dark, it was too early to greet the sun, but it was a known and comforting routine, one she needed right now. It calmed her mind and offered her a chance to do nothing but exist for a moment. And so she did. Inhale, Exhale. Shana repeated the sequence five times, until she her muscles felt warm enough to move on. She inhaled again, allowed herself another moment of closed eyes, of gaining energy, then she started the next sequence, did what felt good and right at the moment. A sequence around the warrior. Strong and standing up. Repeat on both sides. Another one sitting and lying down, focused on her stomach and back. Inhale. Exhale. Keep your breathing deep and steady. Fight. She would fight if neccessary. She would stand up if neccessary. She would kill if neccessary. She was strong and she could do it. Another deep breath. She had to, and she wouldn't run away from her resposibility. She would be strong. She would fight for them.
I think I am here. he/him Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Time passed, and as the sun began to rise so did Rob from his sleep. He didn’t need an alarm clock, he go at up at the same time every day, and it was always the same routine on what to do after. Doing his morning rituals Rob looked at himself in the bathroom mirror. A perfectly emotionless face looked back. Slowly, he moved his hands to his face, his mouth. Hooking each index finger under a corner of his mouth he pulled them upwards, seeing in the mirror his own face having a smile. Quickly he let go again, shivering. Don’t show emotion, never show emotion... storms, he really needed some cat photos right about now. As he made his way to the living room he took enjoyment in the silence. There quite a few people up before him, but also many that got up after. Pouring himself some cereal (he always hadn’t cereal for breakfast, and the same type too - bland Cheerios) he rested his phone on the dining table beside his bowl, and began looking at photos of cats, going to his most browsed website. He made sure to go on Private mode, so his searches wouldn’t show up on his search history, and he made sure to keep a look out so no one could see the cats he was browsing through. But they looked cute. And soft...
Lunar Blessing she/her Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Ashlyn steps out of her car. Alright, I will get some answers out of them. Hopefully... with a deep breath she walks up an knocks on the door. @I think I am here. and anyone else that’s awake on the next day and wants to open the door.
