Doc rubbed his eyes and hung up the phone. His lawyer had said since most of those involved were minors, or acting in self defense, they would get off easy. No jail time. Doc could deal with fines and tracking equipment all day if none of his Knights ended up in jail. He sighed, and his phone began to, yet again, ring loudly. It was Cassie.

He picked up. "Hey Cass," he said in a tired voice, "They let you out, or are you calling from the station?"

Cassie bit her lip, then stopped because it made it hard to speak. "Let us out." Better just say it. "Um, things...happened in the station while we were getting interrogated." She glanced behind her, still walking, to look at the others. "Like, er, Leona setting stuff on fire. And Flid explaining about magic. I don't know if the police believed us, but -" She cut off awkwardly before finally saying, "But yeah, either way it's not good. I'm so sorry. I..." I what? I tried to stop them? I didn't. I just stammered at the police and then when the others gave up I did absolutely nothing one way or the other. She held her breath, waiting. @Dr. Dapper

Rob trudged through the courtyard, making sure to move slow enough so Shana could continue to lean on him and match his movements. He saw James helping Ben up and he internally smiled at Ben and Shana, true lovers that they’d even got injured together. Rob wondered what would happen if he and James laid Shana and Ben right next to each other on a bed, without stormlight so they’d have no choice but to sleep next to each other. That would be cute.

But Rob wasn’t that heartless, and he fully intended to get them all the stormlight they needed. Walking to the front door Rob shuffled in his pocket for his key and opened the door. The smell of home hit him and he was glad to be back somewhere familiar. He walked over to the couch where a loose pouch of spheres lay, and he sat down, trying to lead Shana down as well. She looked like she needed rest.

Shana sat down next to him, leaned against the cushion and sighed in relief. She waved weakly at Ben and then reached over for the loose pouch, pushed it towards Ben. He deeeded it more than she did. His injury was so grave.

Exhausted she closed her eyes and started to drift of, her mind forcing her to calm down, to give in.

"Thank you."

She smiled weakly at Rob and decided against moving for a while.

Ben sat down next to Shana and hastily inhaled the stormlight from the pouch. Before it had a chance to heal him, he placed a hand on Shana’s forehead and healed her instead. She had seemed like she had been in so much pain, and it had been his fault. This was the least he could do for her.

Shana smiled when the pain vanished and smiled at Ben, her fingers curling around his.

"What about you? You need to keep it, recover."

She pushed some spheres to him.

Ben inhaled the stormlight and let the storm rage inside him. He felt his wound slowly begin to close, so he ripped off his bandage to avoid it getting caught inside. His fingers tightened around hers and he leaned back, nearly falling asleep. He kept his eyes open for now, though. He didn’t know how good he was at holding stormlight while sleeping.

Do I have to reiterate the "One does not simply heal everyone else without consequences, Ben" meme? :P

"We should wait for the others to arrive."

Shana suggested, moved closer to Ben. He looked better now. Exhausted, but better.

"What happened? I mean, what really happened, not the version for the police?"

Ben’s wound finally finished healing and he closed his eyes, out of stormlight and intending to get some sleep. But then Shana asked about what had happened and his eyes snapped back open. He really wanted to know more of what had happened, too.

I'm suddenly picturing Rob as someone who looks like a rock at parties but likes to watch romance movies in his room.

Most of that is true :P

Rob watched Ben also sit on the couch and saw how stormlight healed them both. Idly he inhaled some stormlight as well, he wasn’t nearly as injured as Ben or Shana but what little scratches and scrapes remaining on him after the battle quickly vanished.

“Well, you guys were being kidnapped. Obviously.

“Mahad told me to help you. I think there was already a cake wall that stopped the van, by Leona. I sunk the wheels and more people came and fought. Ben went unconscious, and they took you hostage, and then you escaped and we took cover. Then more Voidbringers came with that plant and more of us came and we hid behind the car. And then you sprinted off and destroyed a storm-ton of them, and I called the police because that was the logical thing to do.”

He’d actually called the police because he was scared about his friends being slaughtered by demons but he wouldn’t dare profess his fear and the rest of the story was true anyway.

That's strange... can you tag me now?

"I wasn't there for most of it." James added, readjusting his glasses. "But from what I can gather, it was a fairly large confrontation." He sighed, gathered his resolve, and spoke. "What really has been bothering me is the Black Sword the Nightwatcher entrusted me with. Apparently I'm not supposed to unsheathe it unless my need is dire." He shuddered, "and it seems different from a Shardblade somehow. It speaks to me though, I'm not entirely sure what it is."

Ben paled when James talked about the black sword. It sounded like the one from his dream a few weeks ago. That... that was bad. He still had regular nightmares about that thing.

”What does this sword look like?”

Yay, now my accidental Nightblood thing can make some sort of sense!

"It looks like a standard broadsword, with a silvery sheath, and a blade that is pure black." James said, "Why do you ask?"

“This may sound a little weird, but the first time we had one of those Sha-thoexis dream things, a sword like that was in my dream. It didn’t seem good. Have you tried using it yet?”

"I haven't" James said, "I prefer not to use force unless necessary." he shook his head, and sighed. "And to be honest, It's a little terrifying."

Imma say Ashlyn went back to her own house. She'll be back for an explanation though! (Wasn't kidding about the cat, though to be fair I had a half baked idea to have her have a cat before you mentioned it)

Ashlyn closes the door to her and her moms apartment and collapses onto the couch. She cracks an eye when she hears a soft meow, with a smile she sits up and scratches the brown tabby behind the ears.

"Good girl Penny." She says, all her anxiety melting away with the familiar presence of the animal.

“Yeah. I’m just glad you didn’t use it during the fight- who knows what would have happened.”

The recaps finished and the danger of the black sword momentarily averted, Ben closed his eyes and drifted quickly off to sleep.

I really hope I'm not bothering you or anything but

The house loomed up ahead; Cassie wondered if she'd get to it before the silence on the other side of the line ended.

I have no idea where everyone is. I haven't had time to be here. YAY, SCHOOL!

Leona arrived back at the house and flopped on the couch. Her prom night had been ruined.

I think it's still two parties. Hospital party is in the house and Station party is like a block away from the house(?)
