He could fix any damage with stormlight, though, so the worst he could do was experience a little pain. Carefully he sat up. It felt like he had been stabbed again, maybe with a slightly smaller knife. He ignored it and stood all the way up, only staying on his feet by leaning heavily on James. This time it felt like someone had stabbed him with an even smaller knife, except it had been heated in a fire. “Owwww.”

She jumped back, sending a stab of pain through her back and head and knocking her chair over. She stared at the flames. How had they gotten there? The light hurt her eyes, but she couldn't look away. Suddenly, the flames were gone, replaced with a piece of cake. Leona. She took a shaky breath, and looked up as she realized that one of the police officers had spoken. "Is there anything else you would like to add?" "I . . ." What had she been going to say? "Did you need me to describe the person I hit?"
