“Yeah,” Rob said, face impassive but looking down. He glanced at the police officers, and then at the room where the injured were being wheeled off to, and began to slowly walk in that direction.

“I was just about to talk with someone, too.” Ashlyn. She was nice, but Rob kept his face stone cold.

"Oh really?" James said with a slight smirk, "and who might that have been?" he asked in a humorous manner. Tonight had been hard on everyone, and James had always found laughter to be the best medicine.

“Ashlyn,” Rob replied. He shrugged.

“She came to the house some days ago. We were going to get some fresh air outside. She probably thinks I just ditched her and ran away.” He shook his head. “But it’s okay. I would do it again if it meant saving Shana and Ben. Stonewards are made for sacrifices.”

Shana continued to slide between waking and sleeping, someone was looking at her back, cursing, then bandaging it, then she was turned on her side. James and Rob talked to each other, although she had trouble to really understand their words. What she did understand was Ben's voice. Her name.

"Ben."

She whispered and forced herself to open her eyes. She was tired, so incredibly tired and her back hurt where the bolt had hit her.

"Are you... alright?"

She asked and forced her eyes open again. He had to be alright.

Would it be alright for you, if the interrogation happened in the same room? I know that's not how it's done, but I'm loosing track of the tons of npcs I'm using right now and it would be a lot easier if I had one asking questions and have that more as a group discussion, than a 1:1 interrogation. Of course you can always write the interrogation yourself.

“I think so.”

Shana was awake and talking, that was good.

”Do you-“

He had to cut off when he accidentally shifted his weight too much, sending a shock of pain through his side. He grimaced, then continued on.

”Do you know what happened?”

I’m good with that.

Sounds good.

Evelyn followed the others into the building and sat down. The people had discussed sending her to the hospital, but the ambulances were full and she wasn't too badly hurt. Well, technically she had been diagnosed with a concussion and shock. And she had a headache. And her back still hurt, but not as bad. That was practically fine, right? The doctors had told her that she should come to the hospital after whatever was happening, but she was fine. Or at least, she would be in a week or two. Right now what Evelyn wanted was to hear what exactly had happened. She remembered running to help Shana and Ben, because something had happened to them, but other than that, it was pretty much a blank.

Except for getting hit, of course. That she remembered. Also cake. Why had there been cake again? There had been cake everywhere. And a plant in the road. Her brain felt too muddled to keep on thinking. Hopefully someone would tell her if Shana and Ben and everyone else were okay. Hopefully a tad more quietly than they were currently speaking, too.

Okay, I'm also fine with that. So in the hospital?

Leona's breathing sped up. This had not been how prom was supposed to go. It was supposed to be a fun night of music and dancing, not a fight and friends being kidnapped and blood. She definitely had not meant to end up in an interogation room.

How were they going to keep the story straight?

"We were attacked."

She replied, reached out for him. Her arm was too short, and so she pushed herself up, ignored the protests of the nurse in the room andtook the few steps to his bed.

"You were unconcious."

Her hand closed around his and she looked at him, shook her head.

"I thought you would die, but then the others came and they were here and Rob protected you and James looked after me, and there was a crystal."

She told him, realized that he would probably understand only half of it.

"You will be alright."

That was the most important thing of all.

Thanks a lot.

The officers led them into an interrogation room, that looked like it had been taken out of a movie. Empty, safe for a table, two officers there, both wearing their marks, but no uniform, a folder on the table and enough chairs for all of them. Some plain water and glasses and of course a wall that definitely could be looked through from the other side.

"Welcome to the police station."

A man greeted them dryly.

"My name is inspector Miller and I am responsible for your case. Please take a seat."

He gestured towards the chairs and then continued without giving them a chance to react.

"We already contacted James Deoven, as he seems to be responsible for you lot, and asked him to get in touch with your parents. Since all of you, with one exemption, don't have a record yet we'll interrogate all of you together - but if I realize that you start lying, then we can change that any moment."

His voice softened a little bit.

"I can only ask you to spare all of us the time and cooperate. Just tell us what happened and stick with the truth. We will take care of the rest."

He tried to sit up, but his wound wouldn’t let him. Rob and James had been there? How many others had come? And what was that about another one of the crystal things?

“Are-are you alright? Is everyone else alright?”

Ben asked, afraid of the answer, afraid that he had uselessly been unconscious while Shana and others had fought and suffered for him. He was afraid that someone had been seriously injured or worse because he had been too weak to fight.

Flid sat down, and looked around nervously.

There's no getting out of this, Flid thought. I need to be careful, I'm not getting sent back to the orphanage.

He sighed. "Okay, What do you want to hear about first?"

I love how you phrased this :P

Cassie sat as well. Get in touch with your parents. She felt a spark of grief for her own parents, but shoved it away. Most of the kids lived with Uncle James - this could be interesting, especially seeing as how she'd only met some of them in the last few days and some of them were legally adults - not to mention Jamie, who lived on the other end of the country, and Evelyn, who lived in Europe. Not trusting herself to think of a good story off the top of her head, she waited to see what the rest would come up with.

Eiss sat next to Miller, scanning the bunch avidly. She was eager to hear what they had to say.

Rob and James are with us now, right? (Does James still have Nightblood? I missed if he hid it somewhere.)

No, they are at the hospital with Ben & Shana.

And the timeskip were about three weeks I thought.

Yes, he still has Nightblood. But given that this isn't 100% sticking to canon, I figured he could dismiss it like a Shardblade. Or we could lean super heavy into the Riordan similarities, and say it's like a pen now. Otherwise, I don't think James could ever be without Nightblood, without it presenting too much danger of death

Okay, cool. I might have Cassie ask him about it later, if you know what I'm getting at.
