He knew practically nothing about the Underworld, it should be noted . . .

"Uh, okay."

It seemed like a pretty normal cave. Very dark, and darker as they continued. Corysande lit herself up with a blue glow to illuminate their way.

There were huge stalagmites, plenty of stalactites, and even a healthy amount of columns and other rock formations. Sometimes a bat squeaked, or something scurried across the floor, but it seemed pretty normal.

And then there were the skeletons.

"Like what?" he frowned, not used to this.

"Help others. Stop villains, do good deeds, I suppose. That's actually what Tam and Bat are working towards, right now. Though . . . they've stalled for the moment."

His gaze kept drifting to her. He hadn't realized she could do that . . .

Of course, he stopped when they found the skeletons.

He eyed them warily.

They didn’t do much. Cory grabbed his hand and tugged him forward.

"One of the two Authors mainly involved in the plot has gone inactive, and Tam has frozen herself until the other Author comes back."

Utility watched from nearby. He thought the gears were a bit excessive, but who was he to judge?

Utility would probably find further developments even more excessive, then.

Rebus, interested, resolved to send some villains his way, or at least speak with him - Stone would likely have an interesting point of view.

"You want to start proving yourself soon, I assume?"

"Yeah. Is there a way for me to . . . like a quest, or something?"
